You also got a wand with stats on, while pallies/shamans got a totem/relic without stats on them.

As an enchanter too, it does bother me somewhat that I can't enchant every part of my equipment.
I'll get over it though, it's no biggie and it makes the game more interesting.

How come shaman have heroism but I don't? Druids have battle rez? Rogues have poisons?
Kerstolf summed it up. The game is in an overall state of balance around these sorts of differences. Stat balance is handled in many ways other than enchants; spell coefficients, cast times, talents, etc....are all interwoven more intricately than you or I will ever be able to figure out. But in general, as frustrating as it is for me not to have a battle rez, I think the uniqueness of the classes is essential to the game's experience. Flatten it all out and you have boring gray soup. Ick.

Sorry, the rest of my post must not have come through the first time, my bad. I'll repost it here. I'll thrown in some emphasis that I forgot the first time.

The relic makes one of my attacks a little more interesting.
You have an Off-Hand, which is the same as a shield less the few thousand additional armor. Now, between shields & Off-Hands, the stat differences are debatable, but you also receive, like another poster mentioned, stats from your wand. This evens it out.
Ok, well, using your logic, where is the balence for your relic? If our wand evens out the enchant for your shield, what do we get in place of your relic?

Those are class abilities. This is a thread in the profession forum. Professions are not class-specific. What a dumb post, honestly.
I think I saw something whiz past your head drooood.
His point was that classes are different. The question is about off-hand enchants, and it got steered over towards classes that use shields over offhands because shields can be enchanted.
