Is it really worth going back to WoW?

Ok, fair enough to all the people who gave their opinions and advise so far. Choosing a class is another thing to think about if I come back.
Hunter: Has to manage a pet, while leveling you will get unexpecting mobs chasing the pet and then they start chasing you which goes on for ages, also pets do this strange run with the mob effect which is weird and your pet is likely to die and maybe you included. Ammo is a cause of concern until Cataclysm comes out because I always run low and having too many clogs your bags up.
Warlock: As a pet class, it's the same problem as Hunters have.
First of all, I play a 77 hunter and 80 warlock and have never had a problem managing my pet (except in dungeons, which means you keep the pet on "Passive" all the time in the dungeon.). If you want to be safe you keep the pet on "Passive" while questing. You also remember to never jump down from something because your pet WILL run all around in an attempt to reunite with you and draw any mobs in the process. However, any moron can figure these things out and deal with it.
Ammo isn't a problem with hunters. You can buy up to 1000 ammo a stack now so you don't run out. With Locks, there are soul shards but this isn't a big deal. Just hit "Drain soul" once in awhile and you are gtg and you don't need them for most stuff.
In the meantime there are two of the most interesting and easiest classes to level. One is melee/shooting and the other is casting. Gathering professions are a piece of cake. Questing is a piece of cake. Why? Because you have the pet to help you. Having a pet is an asset, not a liability and you can always go destructive as a warlock or survival as a hunter and not even NEED a pet.
Btw, I don't favour melee classes much, usually like range classes
I'm with you on that. I tend to prefer casters and playing at range. I even play my Holy Paladin at range, almost like a mage.
Mage: Uses up mana too quickly no matter what spec you are. Frost does too little damage, Fire spells takes too long to cast and Arcane just sucks as it eats way too much mana.
My level 80 friend who tops the damage tops repeatedly with her frost mage and would be very amused at your "Frost does too little damage". There are talents that help in the other specs with regards to how long things to take to cast and many fire spells are instant or have short cast times. Don't know much about arcane except it's considered a pretty potent spec these days. My 37 frost Mage solos everything and seems to do OK. Yes, she's a bit squishy but mages have tons of ways to get out of situations, such as frost nova, sheeping, blink etc, etc. It's very fun class to play. Yes, you use mana but you can manage that easily enough. Mages conjure up their own food and water have can make a mana stone that is always there so no big deal. I don't find it to be a problem.
Druid: Moonkin is ugly, Bears are too big, Cat is not as good as Rogue and everyone wants you to be healer.
Shaman: Totems and being forced to be healer.
Don't spec as a healer. Easily solved.
Death Knight: Difficult to play to be honest.
They ARE? Could've fooled me. I find my Unholy DK extremely easy and fun to play. You get a nice ghoul as a pet too.
Paladin: Not fantastic in causing damage. Like Rogue I don't like melee much.
I have an 80 Paladin. If you spec Holy you get fantastic talents abilities which allow you to do a lot of damage from afar. By the time I hit my mob with Judgement (I have a talent which gives me a 40 yard range!), Holy Shock, Exorcism, Hammer of Wrath...there isn't much left. I might have to whack it a few times but it's rare. The whole time I'm doing this I keep myself healed or bubbled with divine and/or sacred shield. I don't do a ton of DPS but I can take on elites and/or 5 mobs and stay alive easily. Paladins are great leveling toons and if you get tired of what type of Pally you can respec and try something different. If DPS is your goal then go Retribution with some Holy mixed in..they call this spec a "Shockadin" and do great damage.
Warrior: None apart from being considered really hard to level. And it's a Melee class.
I'm with you on warriors. My first toon was a warrior. Got him up to 70 and left him at the inn. It was horrible. Of all the classes available it's the class I would never play again.
IMO if you like casting and doing DPS then roll a Lock. If you hate the pet aspect then go Affliction for leveling and Destro once you hit end game. You'll love it and have very little need for the pet. Just keep your imp or felhunter out for the buffs and you'll do fine. If you don't want to roll a brand new toon then go for a Death Knight and go with Blood or Unholy.

I already made my decision and I'll be a Elemental Shaman, like I said before they are simple and straight forward so no need to choose over different talent trees. By the way, did you just say you have a "Shockadin" (Holy spec for dps purposes), I thought they became extinct when they nerfed Holy dps and buffed Retribution dps?

Yes, Shockadins are no longer in vogue because they did enhance Retribution DPS. I believe it's a Retribution Pally primarily with some Holy mixed in. I'm a Holy primarily with some Reti mixed in. If you are, as I am, more inclined to cast then do melee I was suggesting such a build because you can play a Holy Pally quite well in caster mode (relying on spellpower/intellect as your main stats) and blend it with some retribution talents as well to up your crit rating. This is pretty much what I've done and I find my Pally to be really fun to play. The Holy tree has some great talents for casting, such as the one I mentioned earlier that that extends the range of your judgement to 40 yards and I never run out of mana.
You made a great choice on the Elemental Shaman, When the new expansion comes out one of the new classes I roll will be an elemental Shaman. I'm wondering what race you'll play now. I tend toward Horde these days and would probably lean toward an Orc. If you are going Alliance I guess it means Draenei, which isn't too bad. Good luck in any case.

I too am considering whether or not it's worth coming back. I only started playing at the start of this year. i finished with a lvl 80 feral/balance druid. Plus a couple level 20-30's. It just got really boring. All the guilds i joined were a waste of time and took things a bit too serious..and tryin to lvl more toons also got boring because i was too use to be a level 80. So whether or not to start playing again. I dont know if it's worth it. And all my RL friends stopped playing. so socially it lame. Any suggestions on what to do.?
what we told her? lol (sorry if your a guy just going by your avatar :P)

He was saying, "Advice for YuriElite goes for you (JollyOlly) also".... and then apologized to Yuri in case it is a guy (caboose was basing the term "her" off the avatar image).

Lol. Frost is one of the weakest raiding dps specs since Wotlk. They only excel at AOE damage. Either the people your friend groups with is doing something really wrong or your friend vastly outgears them.
Regarding the topic, it seems to me the OP doesn't like absolutely anything except socializing and being with other people. Maybe the outside world is better?
