Is it really worth going back to WoW?

I only group for instances, raids, and TFA/Citadel. If I'm leveling or doing other dailies, I decline all group invitations. Being in a group only slows me down while leveling. Once you hit level cap, there will be much more group play since it's required for raids. Yes, this is an MMO, but a lot of people just want to hack %^&* up, not pretend it's some sort of weird 2nd life/world.
Also, this is like the 4th or 5th thread you've made about basically the same issue and complaints. Each time people have given you the same answers: change server, find a new guild, hit level cap, change factions, find a new MMO, quit WoW, etc. Yet a few weeks later, you ask the exact same thing.
Kinda wonder if we're being trolled at this point...
What? You mean you can check my past posts?
Anyway, if I wanted to come back, should I just come back or wait for Cataclysm to come out since all the current quests will be gone?
Also the world is going to change so I don't want to be standing on lava. =(

But why would you want to do that, this is an MMO so it should one period....
...Strange concept of people who prefer not to group up, in fact playing solo at level 80 sounds strange as well.
The beauty of WoW is that there are many ways to play it. Blizzard has purposely set it up so you can solo a good deal of the game as well as group up. Just because someone chooses to play solo doesn't make it strange. Some people (myself included) prefer to play on their own terms, at their own pace and not have to answer to or deal with others. I find the aggravation in grouping with others to not be worth it. My time is also limited and due to my family/work I often have to stop playing and do something in my real life. I prefer to solo quest (even with my Level 80s) for reputation rather than run the same dungeons over and over again. It's just the way I am.
I guess you can call me the lone wolf type. I often have to wave people off when they want to group with me while I'm questing. It's not that I never group up, it's that I prefer not to and I will almost always attempt a "group" quest by myself first. I enjoy the challenge of doing so.
Call it different strokes for different folks. ;)
At any rate, I have found that the atmosphere on the role playing servers to be better if you want to minimize the nastiness and pettiness. Turning off the Trade Channel helps as well. Oh, and stay off the official WoW forums. They are absolutely horrible.

Ok, fair enough to all the people who gave their opinions and advise so far. Choosing a class is another thing to think about if I come back.
Hunter: Has to manage a pet, while leveling you will get unexpecting mobs chasing the pet and then they start chasing you which goes on for ages, also pets do this strange run with the mob effect which is weird and your pet is likely to die and maybe you included. Ammo is a cause of concern until Cataclysm comes out because I always run low and having too many clogs your bags up.
Warlock: As a pet class, it's the same problem as Hunters have.
Rogue: Very confusing class to be honest, are you meant to must have a dagger or can you use other weapons all the time and if so what is the best weapon type (Axe, Sword or Mace) as well as best pve talent spec? Btw, I don't favour melee classes much, usually like range classes
Mage: Uses up mana too quickly no matter what spec you are. Frost does too little damage, Fire spells takes too long to cast and Arcane just sucks as it eats way too much mana.
Druid: Moonkin is ugly, Bears are too big, Cat is not as good as Rogue and everyone wants you to be healer.
Shaman: Totems and being forced to be healer.
Priest: Shadow Priests do terrible damage and is more of being the best healing class in the game.
Death Knight: Difficult to play to be honest.
Paladin: Not fantastic in causing damage. Like Rogue I don't like melee much.
Warrior: None apart from being considered really hard to level. And it's a Melee class.

o ya well your blue >:(
but really moonkin are cool to me :P bears are big cause...bears are big lol, and I beg to differ about not having as much dps as rogue, we may not be able to insta kill people but we can last longer than rogues in the open :)
now I gotta ask, are you debating what character to make cause your sure nit-picking at all the classes, mana isnt such a huge issue for mages after a while, course you will run out eventually but ya....
shamans aren't "forced" to be healers, theres pleanty more people I think that mainly are either elemental or enhancement spec, elemental would be a good choice for you, and eventually (specially in BGs) you shouldn't even have the totems out. really totems are more useful for dungeons and such
hope that helps :P
Basically for you I would either level shaman or mage (id also suggest boomkin but you say we are ugly >:( )

If you hate to join pugs and join a random guild that you may not know. Try to introduce your friends that you know in person to play WoW with you. I do not PUG at all and only when my friends are busy. There are at least more than 15 of us in my group, meaning we could do 10man raids. It's really fun, rather than just by yourself and you don't really know anybody well.

I have some advice for you.
Stop being so negative!
You seriously need to give yourself an attitude check. Everything is so damn grey and dreary to you. Soloing sucks, grouping sucks, levelling sucks, boredom sucks,
every bloody class sucks
.
I read through this entire thread, and every single reply you give leaves me with the impression you're sitting at your keyboard wearing the most godawful sadface.
Cheer up for crying out loud. :)

Warlock:
As a pet class, it's the same problem as Hunters have1.
*1
Rogue:
Very confusing class to be honest, are you meant to must have a dagger or can you use other weapons all the time and if so what is the best weapon type (Axe, Sword or Mace) as well as best pve talent spec? Btw, I don't favour melee classes much, usually like range classes
*2
Mage:
Uses up mana too quickly no matter what spec you are. Frost does too little damage, Fire spells takes too long to cast and Arcane just sucks as it eats way too much mana.
Druid:
Moonkin is ugly, Bears are too big,
Cat is not as good as Rogue
*3 and
everyone wants you to be healer.
Shaman:
Totems
and being
forced to be healer
*4.
Priest:
Shadow Priests do terrible damage
*5
and is more of being the best healing class in the game.
Death Knight:
Difficult to play to be honest
*6.
Paladin:
Not fantastic in causing damage
*7.
Like Rogue I don't like melee much.
Warrior: None apart from being considered really hard to level.
And it's a Melee class.
Bolded text (with only bold) is QQ.
*1: Roll with an imp. Problem solved
*2: l2research
*3: Cat form can EASILY top DPS charts. A complicated rotation, but it is as good, if not better than rogues.
*4: You will NOT be forced to be a healer. Enhance provides a plethora of melee buffs and Ele provides a lot of caster and healer buffs. All three specs are beneficial and will be welcomed into most raids.
*5: Shadow priest does NOT do terrible DPS. Shadow priests can pull off excellent DPS. When did you last play, vanilla?
*6: DK isn't really that hard to play......
*7: Read number 5
To quote windstrum, "
Stop being so negative!
"
Also, what's so bad about healing? I'd recommend tanking, because it was basically the only thing you didn't QQ about.... Probably a warrior tank.

I suppose I should play an Elemental Shaman, unlike Mage where you have to make a choice in whatever talent tree, Elemental Shamans are more straight forward and simple. While leveling I usually wear just cloth for the Intellect advantage and with a shield for defence purposes until good Mail gear starts popping up.
About Moonkins, I'm sorry if I sounded harsh but they are obese. Truth is I already have a Moonkin of my own that's level 63 but I didn't really like it because Melee classes like Death Knights and Paladins can own you in a matter of minutes. When I first got my Moonkin form, back then I thought it was cool, however that was back then and now I don't like the way they look. But it doesn't matter, Shaman it is then.

Me on the other hand, who's done the competitive counter strike thing back in the day know that everyone is an a-hole on the internet if given enough time to shine. I shrug it off. Someone ninja's my tier piece, oh well should have led the group myself then.
This For me.
You win some you lose some.
Overall though, the enjoyment i get out of playing with my clannies far outweighs the Annoyance of PuG'ing Children.

I don't play a shaman but, lolwut?
Last time I checked earthbind totem and grounding totem were very useful in bgs and pvp in general.
i meant in general you wont have your totems out to help you, ya pop some if need be, but majority of the time your on the move and its a waste to pop it for a few seconds and then have to move on to the next area.

hehe np just messing with ya :P, elemental shaman is fun, I like hybrid classes the most (paly is ok, but I can't really get into it, seems like everyone has one >.>). Elemental is fun, ex. once you get your
lava burst
(level 75) you will have even more fun, just throw a flame shock on the target then hit him with lava burst for an instant crit, and there is even more talents to help with more crit damage like
this
:D
