Okay, I am having some issues with wow crashing on a regular basis. I normally get about 20 minutes to half hour playtime before it hangs and crashes out, area and location ingame having no effect on the crashing.
System specs are as follows:
1.8 gig pentium dual core
1 gig ram
Intel 82945g Express Chipset graphics card
Windows XP home
IDT High Definition Audio
150 gig Hard Drive
Doesn't seem to matter what (if anything) else I am running, it just crashes on a regular basis.
Drivers and Directx all up to date, those were the first things I checked.

Sounds like the same issue a friend of mine had. His pc was overheating.

I'll check it out.
never thought of that. might need to start leaving the side off or some such.

Do you crash to desktop or BSOD (restart) ?

both. sometimes to desktop sometimes to complete restart.

on my secondary PC however, so far as I can tell, it runs just fine. I've had no crashes or any issues with my second, beyond lag because I only have like the minimum RAM requirement for wow.

specs on the secondary:
1.8 gig single core sempron 3200+ (yes I know, yuk lol)
768 meg ram (128 taken by onboard)
Radeon Xpress 200 chipset onboard graphics
Realtek onboard soundcard
40 gig PATA HD only has windows on it
with an 80 gig Sata HD holding everything else
windows XP home
and yeah other than fractionally slow because of the ram, it works just fine...
/me shrugs
I use the dual core for playing though because it runs faster, at least until it crashes :P

put a case fan in (it didn't have any fan other than the PSU and CPU fan previously) and now it seems a lot more stable. still crashes a little but nowhere near as bad. seems like temp was the issue.
