Varian Wrynn = Deathwing?
Return to board index
Post by

Also, Blizzard spend way too much on getting the whole Varian Wrynn character introduced in the universe with the comics and stuff. Throwing him off as Deathwing would be
too
stupid.
.... and year, there has already been too much going on with the Prestors. The only way I can imagine them having a comeback, is probably as something involved in the new Worgen lore, which we have yet to see (completely at least).

Varian Wrynn is to stupid to be Deathwing, simple as that.
On a more serious note that, the difference being, Deathwing is a schemer, he plans and plots things out to achieve his goals. Varian is a thug who rushes into combat without a second thought or plan anything out.

really nice theory :P and as much as I'd love to rub that in the face of all the allys, I don't think is plausible.
everyone else has stated it before, the real deathwing is more sublte than macho-rambo DBZ varian.
if deathwing was varian, he would had used more cunning, charm, persuation, and puppets.
varian on the other hand, is rather predictable, irritating, and loves to do things by himself, istead of using a "middle-man"
if u look at it, Nefarian, onyxia, and deathwing, and even sinestra, all 4 have one thing in common, they value subtlety, charms, manipulation, cohertion, espionage, subterfuge and cunning more than raw brute strenght and beating your chest like a gorrilla (wich is something varian is quite fond off :P he really is more orc than he's willing to accept)
in a single sentece: Deathwing is too good to be varian :P do not insult him (deathwing) by comparing him to that maggot (varian).

he really is more orc than he's willing to accept.
Oh my. :')
That's pretty true - but he is more like a Warsong Orc, the ones who want to smash puny Pink skins.

Its a good theory, and it might just work if it wasn't for all the things Blizzard has made with the body seperation and all that.
But think of it. The way Varian acts could be a plan to lead all thoughts that he was Deathwing away from him. And then when all the Alliance leaders meet, Deathwing pops up and burns them all.

Except he would have done it by now. No, Varian Rage-a-lot isn't Deathwing, as the Destroyer has been far too busy lately with his Twilight Flight, recovering from the Aspect's assault and you know, setting up the whole Cataclysm, to pretend to be a human split in two by his daughter..... besides, Varian and Lord Prestor were in the same place at one point.

I like this theory! But if I were to build on the theory that it can't be Deathwing because he's in two places at once, what about Azshara? Or a high ranking dragon in either of their flights?
Or maybe even SARGERAS, DESTROYER OF WORLDS (dun dun dunnnnnn)
Sargeras is missing, off somewhere recovering from the failed attempt with Medivh.
If it was a member of a Dragon flight, why would they have killed Onyxia?
As for Aszhara.... she's a mortal race, not a dragon or a god or anything, besides the Light of Lights, Big-breasted Queen of Beauty would never be ugly-arse Varian.

I can agree with that... except that Blizz said that it was when Deathwing broke free from the Elemetal plane of earth/deepholm and entered the physical world the catalysm happened.
Blizz says that the cataclysm happened because that Deathwing moved from EP to PW.

It's really time that someone defended Wrynn. What has he done to deserve the treatment he gets from the players? Really? What action has he taken against the Horde that they didn't deserve?
His best friend dies (maybe) because the Horde allowed the Forsaken into their ranks knowing that they would like nothing more than to destroy all life on Azeroth. Which allowed them to create the new plague. That was then reenforced by the events at the Death Gate, when alliance forces who were assaulting Icecrown were attacked by Orcs from behind while the Scourge attacked from the front. So obviously the Horde would rather ally themselves with the Scourge than the Alliance.
Than after both of those events, Wrynn and Jiana travel to Dalaran and Thrall and Garrosh show up. Who is it that draws his weapons and attacks? Garrosh! Wrynn mearly defended himself, he did not start the fight.
And as Thrall speaks of peace and working together, Horde forces continue to push into Alliance lands.
Wrynn would be an idiot if he did trust the Horde.

This all sounds really

Yeah this topic is about why the Destroyer can't be Captain Rage aka Varian.

You know, we've seen all the reasoning that the Black Dragons in general like to use subtlety and subversion as a means to their ends, and I accept this... but how does this explain Deathwing wtfpwning Azeroth?
Post by

Because he's tired of it? I don't know, it's possible he never meant for Deepholme to cause as much as damage as it did.

I'll take that as a viable reason. Even still, kudos Deathwing... that splosion will be epic.

He forces the Earth area of the Elemental Plane to enter into the real world, that is the point of Deepholme rising.

Its always a similar kind of post when it comes to someone defending Varians rage issues, they always try to slag off Thrall, not even able to acknowledge Thrall has been through worse in terms of what he was raised as, what he lost, who he lost and what he faught for his people. The major difference will always be Thrall turned into a decent character, well Varian turned into a raging wannabe warmonger.
By the way, alliance fanboy clouded view on the violet citadel much, Varian provoked Garrosh to attack him, he scoffed at them first, then he pushed it further to make Garrosh attack him. Stop re-writing that event like you want to see it.
