No, I don't have to agree that affliction/demonology is the best build for pvp. Outside of SL/SL (which is good PvP) and drainguard (20/41/0 - very good grinding), affliction/demonology builds are gimped for just about EVERYTHING. Eleven points in destruction is huge at level 70.
For good PvP builds, you have a few excellent options.
41/7/11 +2 (UA/Shadowburn)
5/43/11 +2 (Felguard)
25/36/0 (SL/SL)
And a few others that, while not as effective overall, are still playable and fun.
20/0/41 (Nightfall/Backlash)
7/7/47 (Fire destro)
Note the uniting factors in these builds:
4/5 have 7+ in demonology for Imp HS and Demonic Embrace - 15% health boost and 20% better healthstones.
4/5 have 11+ in destruction - Yes, Shadowburn **IS** all that in PvP. With decent gear, you do well over 1000 damage on an instant with a reasonable cooldown, an ability that is otherwise completely lacking in your class. Fill up your shard bag and abuse it.
All of them have instant Corruption. Even the deep destruction builds.
All of them specialize. They do one thing very well, whether that is dots, pets, fire spells, instant shadow bolts, or survival.

What do you think about
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IVMrVRfkqxbZbxszIbz
? use the demonic sacrifice for the bonus you want btw this is for solo pve
Life drain tanking style with fx +3% of max mana per 4 sec :P
If you're drain tanking, why on earth would you need a sacrifice for health or mana regen? Those work better in a destruction grind.
Dark Pact+UA is infinitely better than Demonic Sacrifice

Two possibilities:
1) Fire destro PvP builds would want it. Aggro doesn't matter. Quick, cheap cast that can do a fair amount of damge.
2) Warlock tanks. There are some bosses (in raids) that cannot be affected by melee damage, so a warlock gets the job. High aggro spell + high crit chance = tons of aggro.

All 3 are excellent options. Which you choose will depend on what/how you prefer to play.
UA/Shadowburn is a highly mobile build with a ton of instants and a lot of tricks up its sleeve. You destroy casters and have excellent CC abilities to stack onto your improved dots and drains.
Felguard has a ton of survival and huge damage output, but lacks the overall flexibility of UA/Shadowburn. You prefer to be able to sit back and blast away while your pet keeps someone occupied. You're stronger against melee and weaker against casters - especially other warlocks.
SL/SL is all about survival. Spell resistances, damage mitigation, and life drains as your major weapon make you extremely annoying to kill. To get this, you sacrifice damage abilities

Okay, I'll bite.
- When exactly are you planning on running a voidwalker in a felguard build? 3 completely wasted points.
- Improved Health Funnel? 2 completely wasted points.
- Master Conjuror? NOBODY takes this talent unless someone has kidnapped their kids and is threatening to show them Barney reruns. The only worse talent in the game was removed when the devs realized that rogues weren't stupid enough to take Throwing Weapon Specialization. 2 utterly wasted points.
- Cataclysm? 5, yes FIVE more completely wasted points.
So you've wasted 12 points on absolute garbage, when you could be puttting them into genuinely useful talents for either an excellent PvP build or a very good PvE nuking build.

Lots of them. But which one is best depends on your numbers.
Spell hit
Spell damage
Spell crit %

Malediction: why is this useful? In pve I use curse of agony, in pvp....I use curse of agony lol, or exhaustion. What good is this? My class leader made me switch to an affliction build which I dont mind but he told me to have certain points where I dont get why.
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IEMMVRfzqtfobxc0hZb
thats the build he has for me.
I was thinking more....
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IEMMiRfzqtboZxx0t
so I can be OK in some pvp settings with shadowburn and actually have a decent crit chance with shadow bolts in raids.

Your raid leader needs to learn more about warlock specs. That's horrible. ;-)
- Thou Shalt Take Improved Shadow Bolt
- Thou Shalt Take Bane
- Thou Shalt Only Take Suppression If Thine Spell Hit Stinketh
- Thou Shalt Only Take Malediction If There Be Three Shadow/Arcane Users Or Three Fire/Frost Users In The Raid.
- Thou Shalt Not Take Demonology Talents Apart From Improved Healthstone Unless Thee Art Speccing 0/21/40 Or Felguard (Or Thine Health Doth Stink)
Oh, and lose Imp CoA, okay? You don't use it in raids. Malediction is there because (hopefully) he expects you to use CoEl or CoS on bosses.
I think I need to work on the Ten Commandments of Warlock Raid Specs, though...

See thats exactly what I thought. I went with it because it got me in the guild. I may just go change it back to something I like now lol.

41/0/20 - UA/Destructive Reach. Standard Affliction raid build without the PvPness.
You can shift some points around in the lower branches of the Affliction tree if your raid asks for either Malediction or 5/5 Shadow Embrace. With or without those, it'll serve you just fine in heroics and Kara.

I was wondering what the best skill set for me would be. I'm almost level 70, and me and a friend want to do arena, and BG. right now i'm SL/SL and not sure if its the best for doing PvP. Outside of PvP i am hoping to help people in my guild level, but also start doing some Raids. could someone suggest what i might want to respec to or am i good. thnx
