Jumping supposedly increases DPS for Enhancement?

A while back I remembered that you can only cast instants in midair, thus an airbourne Shaman can only fire a lightning bolt at 5 stacks and doing so at 4 or below won't reset the swing timer. So, when all of my skills are on cooldown and MW is at 4 stacks i'll mash LB in hopes that i'll be able to fire it off and end up "clipping" less MW stacks overall (by having them generated at 5 stacks).
Your thoughts on this?
Oh, and is this method liable to cause swing resets? I figure I could land, hit LB and start casting and end up resetting my swing timer as I jump up again. If so I won't even bother with this method.

If you're airbourne when you mash LB you can dump 5 stacks of MW quickly so they don't "overflow" (proccing one at 5 stacks just means you get a duration refresh). You see, you jump so you DON'T cast. It means you can mash on 4 stacks with no cast or swing interrupts, but 5MW gets fired off much faster. I've been trying to figure out another way of doing this like and "only cast LB if MW is at 5 stacks) but I don't think such a macro exists.
Or, I could just use Shock and Awe but it doesn't seem to work with 3.2.

Shock and Awe has been working fine for me since 3.2. You'll just need to download the new version.
