I know that it symbolizes their ideals, but I'd have much rather seen Rorschach go down to Ozymandias, even after he knew what the plan was.

I think the point was the Ozzy was 'softer.' He did go down to Ozymandias, multiple times, but not a true death. Manhattan's actions showed his sanctioning of Ozzy's actions, that he sided with them, and that he was still distanced enough enough to take human life to save other human life.

Best book out of all of them.
So far, I agree. I can't believe I missed the Chekhov's Gun though...

Re-reading Nick Perumov's works right now. His world kind of makes Mordor (Tolkien) seem about as dangerous as a hamburger-bar at 3 o' clock on a Tuesday.

Warhammer and WH40K make everything else look about as dangerous as kittens sitting on a pillow.

Dude, you've got to watch out for those kittens...

Ikr?
Actually, when kittens get riled up their claws can hurt. Depends on how crazy they are.

Yeah damnit, they're lethal!
For serious though, I actually
haven't
read Warhammer.
Should I?

Do you like incredibly gothic and depressing fantasy/science fantasy with loads of action? If so, then yes. I suggest WH40K over normal WH though. Pick a Dan Abnett novel and read that. I recommend the
Gaunt's Ghosts
novels or
Titanicus
.
Another good series to start would be the Horus Heresy, as it happens about 10,000 years before WH40K, so you can get a sense of the setting.

/facepalm.It's true; if a person hates the Alien movies, I wouldn't recommend the Alien EU books to them.

Thank you Funden, i went to the Bookstore right now actually and got a couple of Warhammer books. Unfortunately Horus Heresy wasn't available, but i'll try to get it on a later date. Thanks for the advice :)

Aye, but most people, if they haven't read the WH books, probably haven't played the games either.

Got all the (according to the guy in the store anyway) Ciaphas Cain books, aswell as
Double Eagle
and
Fifteen Hours
I'm kind of clueless so i've no idea whether or not those were good choises, we'll just see; starting one of them now, unsure which.

Double Eagle
is a Dan Abnett iirc, so you should be good. Ciaphas Cain I hear are pretty good as well. Haven't read
Fifteen Hours
.

A brand new Imperial Guard infantry soldier is mistakenly delivered to an ork-infested planet where the average life expectancy of a new arrival is fifteen hours. This book really captures the bleak, bloody atmosphere of the Warhammer 40,000 setting.
Thought it sounded interesting, and i'm actually starting off with it.
