Documentation for Divine Ilumination/AW
Return to board index

Apparently sometime this week, Avenging Wrath and Divine Illumination's cool downs were increased from two to three minutes but I can't find any documentation for this change. I'm not going to get into just how much this &*!@es me off as a holy pally, but does anyone know where it is? Thanks.

They've always been at 3 minutes.
Sources: my memory as far as BC/Wrath go, and WoWWiki pages (which usually list changes that the particular spell have gone through).
If I didn't have so little to do, I would have done the whole "you're on a database site" or "Google is your friend" thing.
Hey, &*!@ heads, read this thread.

Explain to me why several very active and intelligent posters on the wowhead forums didn't catch my "error" you claim I made. They were on two minute cooldowns as of three weeks ago. It is repeated on this thread explaining a Divine Plea rotation many, many times. 1263 views, 21 replies and no one caught my "mistake?"
Why you ask? Because at the time, they were on TWO MINUTE COOLDOWNS.
GG for the trolls. Now, can I get someone who knows how to play kindly answer my question?

Stop being loud and obnoxious. They've always been 3 minutes.
Go through the patch notes yourself. The only recorded time of Divine Illumination being changed is when they increased it's duration from 10 seconds to 15 in patch 2.0.3

For the
third
Divine Plea, your Avenging Wrath, Divine Illumination, and your SP trinket will be off cooldown. You can now pop all the above again for the third divine plea. At this point, Forbearance now has one minute remaining, Divine Shield will have 4 minutes remaining
Seems to be acknowledging that 3 minute cool down that you aren't, or did divine plea have a 40 second cool down before too?

Actually, for your 3rd Divine Plea, Avenging Wrath will have waited two minutes. If you launch your Divine Pleas on 0, 1 and 2, and launch first Avenging Wrath on 0, then it implicitly has a 2 min cooldown if you can use it on the 3rd Divine Plea. So really, it just means that the other thread wasn't thought through properly, or that Rouen specs Ret/Holy.
I agree with Krylsia about the Sanctified Wrath point. I've always known my Ret build to have a cooldown of 2 minutes, and that would be because of two points in Sanctified Wrath. Personally, I don't tend to use AW as Prot, and I've never played Holy, so I don't know anything about Divine Illumination. 3 minutes does sound about right though.
Anyway, I refer you to
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=31842
, looking down the comments to the fellow by the name of DietPepsi, who posted during patch 2.1.3, with the following comment:
This talent is a huge asset to Paladins and should definitely be used every time the 3 minute cooldown is up. As others have said, anytime you can save mana during a fight, then do it.
And just for comprehensiveness, check out
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=31884#comments
Oh, but it gets even better:
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?spell=53376
reduces the cooldown of Avenging Wrath to 2 minutes, and makes 50% of the total damage (while AW is active) bypass all damage reduction effects. If that includes armor, look out.

And yet still no one answers my question. Maybe you need to L2Comprehend since you still don't understand the question.
www.google.com
for elementary schools in your area. I'm glad I could help.
So I guess these attacks should also be directed at YJMark, Caean, Zyion, svirve, Synectics, and jonDare since they not only failed to catch my "L2P nub mistake" you all claim and stated how they found the thread useful, information and/or otherwise added constructive remarks to the thread? Somehow I don't think that would fly.
At the time of the writing of the original thread, those abilities were on the cooldowns I stated. If they were not, then the rotation would not have worked at all and I would have noticed the failure during original testing and actual field use. This is why I'm asking for the documentation of the hotfix. Everything worked as explained until one day it unexplicably changed and now the rotation isn't viable since it doesn't work anymore due to the CD's increased.
My sympathy to the plight of the wowhead admins for the amount of trolls and ignorant players who've infested the forums. I'll suppose I just have to settle for the blue post I recieved from blizzard regarding the issue. Thanks guys (To Squishalot & Krylsia for trying to be helpful)... or no thanks (to the rest of the trolls)?
Moderator, please lock the thread. Only trolls will be posting here from here on out.

This thread brings the lawls! And we ignore small errors like that for pities sake, but now that you have come with your retardation in full proud obnoxious swing
we are gonna laugh.
P.S. The guy on the second page corrected you, so your fail wasn't fully undiscovered.
