The mayor of Toronto smoking crack, anyone?
Still hasn't been confirmed; the drug dealers have not gotten back in contact with Gawker.com even though the site has raised the 200 thousand dollars they asked for to sell the video.
On another note; he's lost two more people in his office, and from the news today, he was wandering around his offices like a bull in a china shop while the news outlets watched him.

I think it is ridiculous, and should be illegal, to give any money, let alone 200k to known drug dealers, regardless of what is on the tape.
If the town is convinced enough that the mayor is smoking crack, then just remove him. At least where I live, the mayor can be somewhat "impeached" by our City Council. A couple years ago, they removed what was otherwise one of the best mayors we have had in a long time because he got a DWI. I was actually pretty miffed about that. He didn't try to "pull rank" when he was stopped, he was barely over the legal limit, and made several very believable public apologies, but he was still ousted.

And people wonder
why I support the death penalty
, especially when it comes to child sexual predators.
Personally, I think whatever "judge" they have in this town should be fried right along side of this guy.
In 2009, he was arrested for sneaking into a Togiak home and attempting to sexually assault an 11-year-old girl while the family slept, then assaulting three members of the household
He was convicted the next year in a Dillingham court on charges of attempted sexual abuse of a minor and trespassing.
Really.....you get 1 year for sexual assault of an 11 yr old, and 3 other people?
He was released on Oct. 2, 2011 and put on probation. But Schroeder said he violated his probation repeatedly, sometimes being re-arrested on the very day he got out of jail.
From Oct. 2, 2011 to when police arrested him Saturday, Active had spent 18 days on the outside, according to a timeline released by the Department of Corrections.
....and you get just another year for doing it again?

Mammoths
may be on the horizon. Do you think they should do it? Would you like to see other extinct animals brought back?

For animals like that; No, mainly because nature already took them out for a reason, and trying to bring them back to the current climate would probably not be the best idea.
For ones that human kind have wiped out due to stupidity: Yes.

There are a lot of domesticated animals that nature would take out on their own, too. I don't see Shih-tzus as having a long run as a species (or sub species) without human intervention, being carnivores who have lost most of the predatory weapons and defenses of other canines. I don't think that a species that can only survive in a domestic/game preserve situation is a bad thing in and of itself.

Yeah but Mammoths were around during the lead up into one of the Ice Ages; if you were to bring one back now, even if you tried to set them up in the sub-temperate zones I don't think they would flourish again without a lot of help from humans...and really, what's the point of cloning them just to keep them stuck in a zoo for their whole lives?
It's the same issue I have with people wanting to clone dinosaurs if we ever got the chance; they'd be nothing but zoo animals, since you couldn't have massive carnivores roaming the Earth anymore, with how densely populated humans are.
Now, for some of the animals that human kind drove to extinction, I'd like to see come back, mainly because we could at least figure out they would be able to viably still exist in the wild if it came to that.

So you don't think that an extinct species should be brought back at all unless it can be reintroduced to the wild?

Pretty much; I'm not a huge fan of zoos in the first place, as I've always felt that animals should be allowed to be in the wild and not caged up. Which, is what would more then likely happen to any 'ancient' animals cloned; they'd be kept penned up as the scientists studied them, and that doesn't seem like much of a life to me.

It would have no place in ecosystem. One thing I have learned ftom biology is: "One does not simply bring new species without changing ecosystem dramatically."But if it was kept exclusively in captivity, it'd be fine.

Lol wow.
That gun hidden in the prosthetic leg really does away with a lot of the concerns about those full body scanners, I think.

I know eh? I never really understood the concerns about the full body scanners. Seriously, if you look at the quality of the outputs, you'd never find someone fapping in a room over them. The only marginally credible argument was the radiation concern, and I believe that you actually get a higher dose from the flight itself than from the scanner.
