Ok, but we agree that exile is a better option than building expensive facilities for them to sit in?
I agree that prisons should be the smallest expence of governments budget. Although, considering prison population in some countries like U.S we might simply run out of space for exiles.
I say we send them to South Africa. They wouldn't stand a chance.

Because a 9 year old girl doesn't have the capcity to be accountible for "murder" nor understand those decisions
She wasn't excommunicated. Side note; do you take your children to Church with you? If they aren't brothers or sisters in Christ, then are they not included in the provisions laid out in the Sheep and Goats?
the audience questions are a little cringeworthy, and skippable
My favourite part of most debates or talks, actually. Quite often I'm familiar with the positions of the debaters and they use similar or identical language and concepts. It's the questioners that tend to offer novel concepts I find and if they provide a witty retort, it can be recycled for similar arguments.

If you don't think it's worth watching I would enthusiastically encourage you not tok, cool.and if you don't want to discuss it, allow me to take this opportunity to ask you why you are doing so.I thought you were directing that at me.She wasn't excommunicated.ok. I wouldn't be truthful if I pretended to understand all the ins and outs of how catholic church handles their members.Side note; do you take your children to Church with you? My kids do go to church with me. They are required to go. They don't have to believe, nor take any action directly or indirectly if they don't want to. My daughter has chosen to participate, and my son is still to young to understand anything. As for how the church treats members vs non members, sheep and goats, etc etc... I'd have to have you ask me about specific scriptures. I make note of who it is directed to, and what the directions are in regards to. The scripture that was brought up earlier was directly referencing one of your number who makes a mistake, and to correct them. I can infer (but not for certain) that the authors of instructions in the word of God and those trusted with the word of God like that knew that non believers would be unreceptive to Christian instruction if they didn't believe in the Christianity.

They excommunicated the people that facilitated the abortion, not the child that underwent it. You called this stupid. Do you retract that comment?

You need to reread the article. It wasn't just the doctors that were kicked out of the church, but also the grandma. What do you want me to say here? Do you want me to say that it was a good decision to kick out someone who had their daughter have an abortion? I mean... what is a "good" decision here? What could have been done to make anyone a winner here? It's a horrible horrible version of the trolley scenario. I think abortion is murder no matter what... so what do you want me to say?

Facilitate: to make the process easier. The Church presumably thought she was instrumental in the girl having the abortion, in which case she's responsible
in some part
for the murder of a child by their standards. I fail to see how they fail to understand their own religion.

Christianity doesn't turn people away for sinning. They try to teach them. I'm not saying that Catholicism is incorrect in its Catholicism. I'm saying that Catholicism is incorrect in its Christianity.

They try to teach them.
Yeah but excommunication is the last ditch attempt mentioned in that verse I posted, treating them like pagans or tax collectors.

And that is what is called for in the case of the grandmother? I don't advocate abortion, but what steps were undertaken before the excommunication?

Sony patents the design of software which interrupts a game to display an advert before unpausing and rewinding the game.
A new patent filed by Sony Computer Entertainment America details software designed to interrupt the gameplay sessions of users with advertisements.
Spotted by an eagle-eyed user on NeoGAF, the patent was filed back in July 2011 by SCEA and is given the catchy title “Advertisement Scheme for use with interactive content.”
What the patent does in a nutshell is warn the player that the game is about to be interrupted and then introduces the advert. Once the advert is over – the example Sony puts forward is an ad for a brand of soda – there’s a momentary pause before gameplay begins again.
The patent also mentions a method of potentially rewinding the game once the advert is over, presumably in case the warning that the ad was incoming distracted you from a vital segment. That’s probably wise as I for one I can’t imagine surviving the intense rush of anger after losing all my souls in Dark Souls thanks to such a message distracting me without a feature to undo the damage.
The death of Sony or
Patent Trolling
? It's a toss-up for me.

.
Of course, at the bottom there:Eurogamer points out that the patent is an expansion on a one based around similar ideas filed in 2006. Only time will tell if anything real will come of this. So who knows if they'll actually do anything with it; they could just end up using it for online games and show commercials while you are waiting for other players to appear and go up against.

Is
this
kind of this moral? I mean, are they teaching kids to feel victimized? Are they encouraging the kids to arrive at conclusions about things based on media, and not fact gathering?

Edwards trial: Alternate jurors
wear bright yellow
one day, and then bright red the next day. One juror appears to be flirting with Edwards. Edwards wears a bright red tie the same day the jurors wear bright red shirts. The whole thing looks slimy. He's on trial for giving campaign cash to his mistress during his presidential bid. His wife had cancer. She died. Yep, slimy.
@Doc - We had someone in this county feed weed laced spaghetti to an unsuspecting family gathering, including an infant. Everyone started hallucinating, and the baby started acting abnormally. Not cool. Don't feel hallucinogens to an infant, who's still in crucial stages of brain development. However, as for your school incident, I don't think it was necessary to suspend the students who ate it. Was there proof that they knew what they were eating?

I call placebo effect on this, marijuana is not a hallucinogen except in massive quantities, and even then only happens to a very small number of people. I have personally never met nor heard of anyone actually hallucinating from it (and believe me, we've tried :P).How could it have been the placebo effect if no one knew they were consuming it?
Anyway, if someone wanted to get hallucinatory effects out of marijuana, then they need to grow their marijuana for longer. The resin you can see on the outside of the bud will turn a brownish color as it ages. This is a chemical change it undergoes. When it undergoes that change, the resin (which is where the drugs are) changes from THC into CBC. CBC is much more of a hallucination drug, where as THC is a euphoric drug. The earlier you harvest the marijuana, the more THC. The later, the more CBC. The spaghetti cook obviously got some late harvest stuff.

I've considered that someday I might consume some pot. I like to know my facts before consumption, on anything, especially drugs.
