There's
plenty
and undoubtedly more of that than there's ever been about gay characters.
Honestly, I'm interested in neither. I'm all for character development, but let's not be so naive to pretend we don't see proselytizing, from either side, or pretend we don't despise it. Why can't a super hero comic book just be about super heroes? You may enjoy

This raises my tentative interest.
Edit Edit: I saw the preview pages, and it seems poorly written, and almost a satire of itself. Not gonna take it up.

How superheros enjoy intercourse is a side topic used for the sole purpose of furthering a political agenda. It's crap. We want to see them fight and save the world. Who cares if some super hero is sexing it up with the same sex. Who even decided that? After Super Duper Hero guy flies down from stopping the meteor, we should have him engage in homosexual relations! Yeah, what a great idea for a comic book!Sarcasm or not: Seeing Midnighter murder and kill thousands then go home and spend a nice quiet evening with Apollo and their daughter Jenny actually works.
I think they should have a comic book hero who is a Christian. After he gets done saving a bus load of orphans, we can watch him go to Church and learn about the saving power of Jesus Christ. No agenda there. Nope. Not one bit.
As DoctorLore linked, there are loads of them out there already, and not all of them are done as the extreme anti-whatever faction.

I have no doubt that they're making a political/social statement. Just like they did when they started introducing a more racially diverse set of super-heroes in the 60's as the civil rights movements were heating up. Just as there were a couple of superheroes who focused on environmental issues in the 80's and 90's. Just like they did with all of the evil communist villains in earlier decades. They have also had disabled superheroes, who have dealt with presenting disabled people in a positive light. They're a private company that produces a mass-media art form, and they are allowed to use it to field issues that they think need to be fielded. If they feel that a statement should be made that being gay is normal/acceptable, and being married as a gay person is also normal, they have the right to do that.
It will cost them some customers, it will gain them some publicity, and in the end it will maybe have the effect they intend which is to put their view-point out there in a pretty accessible form of media. It's a privately funded medium, and if you don't like it you can boycott. I'm sure that if anyone had anything to say about a comic book character that promoted christian values (which I am sure a lot of people would), you'd find it completely unacceptable that they think they should mock a fiction writer for taking a stand on something you believe is important, rather than just entertaining us. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
And I'm not sure if you're aware, but for at least 30 years, comic books have totally been about sex as well as violence. Even when not engaging in it, the costumes and poses are downright ridiculous, and many female characters have breasts that are drawn as large as their heads. There have been swimsuit issues, for goodness sakes. And plenty of implied and pretty much flat out stated sex.

I'm just listing all the examples of comic I read with different political agendas. I'm not sure if you read that I identified them being anti-communist too for quite a while.
But, since I consider the movements almost the same thing, it is very easy to make the comparison for me. Since you consider them having nothing to do with each other, it is very easy for you to think the comparison is a joke. I'll just leave it that way, since this is a discussion for another thread.

So, no star wars advice?

I have heard that for every expanded universe novel that is good, there are like 10 that suck horribly. I believe the reference quoted to me was a book about a sith who brought back the dead, and his name was phonetically Darth Undeadoo. I'd look for people who have specific recommendations rather than wading into the pool and searching around.
I heard that the Revan book is good, but if you don't know the rest of the KOTOR story it's a little lacking in context.

Which book do you think has been proselytizing?
The conversation has moved on. Star Wars books, or a new news article, your pick.

Start with the Jedi Sith war from 4k years ago and work your way forward.

I recommend the Grand Admrial Thrawn Trilogy.
Stay away from anything Karrin Traviss wrote, and be careful with the Vong. Some of the Vong books are good and some are pretty bad.

I would start with the one where Luke Skywalker makes out with his sister. Since I can't think of any gay sexual references in Star Wars, incest is the next best thing for this crowd.

Isn't that Dare Devil? And to a lesser extent Captain America?
Also: I think a character that we
don't
see what he does on his or her off days and doesn't have some ambiguity around him or her is what you call an underdeveloped character.

John Constantine, sort of.

I don't think I'd count John Constantine of Hellblazer under that....
