Look for gear you can grab from heroics or regular dungeons, buy some crafted gear, and then find a Naxx guild.

Thanks for the thought mate, but most of what I post and know is stolen from Lynri, Nystali, Samhein, and a majority of other dk's I have ran with or know. As a DK we have trouble getting into groups. There are stigmas to frost dk's and any dps not named blood on some servers and with some people. Even amongst dk's it seems to be the same. A large reason that you are having trouble is the amount of DK's and now dk stigma out there.
Lynri is right continue to read up on your class to understand how to maximise your effectiveness. Dual spec so you can tank as well. Gaining tank gear and being willing to tank will open up the eyes for grouping. It's not just about knowing your class, but being aware of your surroundings and helping as best you can. The benefit of wearing plate is that if an add gets away from the tank you can grab it and pull it back to the tank.
In some bosses a dk is the best help. The dog boss in Naxx25 is a big example you can tank and kite all the adds, if you have 2 dedicated healers allowing all the dps to focus on burning boss down. I have done it several times, now every tank wants to try it lol. The tip is looking and being aware of where your healers are at. Personally I love to tank because I control the speed at which the run goes.
As for how to fight, my biggest pet peeve both as a raid leader/tank/dps is dps that doesn't learn to fight behind or on the sides of a target. Tanks typically should turn a mob so it's back faces you, however in the end dps needs to be aware that being in front of a target opens up the opportunity for damage to yourself. Be in constant contact with targets, I use the v key to show health bars above the target so I know if I am attacking the right contact it also allows me to switch from target to target smoothly.
I have not looked at your gear yet, but if you are in straight questing gear. Than run normals till you get rep and some good solid gear and then work yourself into some heroics, which is really easy if you are willing to tank until you get good dps gear. A great starting weapon can be had at the Argent Tournament dailies. The greatsword of Sindori is just beautiful.
Any other questions just post and either myself or one of the more knowledgeable dk's will try to help you.
