Twisted Visage
is very comparable to
Tortured Earth
and is a lot easier to obtain. Both are ranked higher than Origin of Nightmares due to their higher migration and threat generation. You'll find that most of our best weapons no longer have armor on them so better get used to not seeing it anymore.
note: Please for the love of all that's holy get rid of those expertise gems ASAP. For tanking the only gems you should worry about are 16 agility or +24 stamina.

A weapon with 121 stamina is not even slightly comparable to one with 179.
note: Please for the love of all that's holy shush.
I still use Origin of Nightmares now, even though i had Twisted Visage lying at my legs a couple times (and i did have the points to pick it up if i wanted). The upgrades i am looking at are...
Origin of Nightmares -> Tortured Earth ->
Dark Edge of Depravity
The spear is a luxurious tanking weapon, but rather hard to get. Vezax 10 men hard mode is friggin difficult too, but its gonna be manageable.

Actually it's not that dumb at all. You should be able to get all the expertise you need from gear alone. You shouldn't have to waste a gem slot on it. Plus getting to the Expertise hard cap really isn't necessary, while it doesn't hurt to aspire to reach it with as much hit as possible there comes a point in which it doesn't make much of a difference.
And the guy had +16 expertise gems -.- So yeah I consider those wasted gem slots that he could have used for something more important like stamina and agility.
