Gearing up my 40 druid to powerlevel him to 80 when 3.2 hits, trying to figure out which
heirloom weapon
to use. Plan to level him as Feral.
Statswise, it looks like the
Balanced Heartseeker
, but it kinda sucks the only feral weapon is a dagger. Next closest is maybe the
Grand Staff of Jordan
(help w/ the hit rating and self heals).
Is that right, or am I missing anything (noob druid, Naxx DK tank here).

Just skip heirlooms weapon for him. 3.2 will bring a 2h hammer but I am not sure if you'll be able to buy it with emblems of heroism or emblems of conquest.

It kinda sucks there's not a 'dedicated' heirloom weapon for feral druids. That dagger is nice but you'll easily find better weapons once you get to Outland. In fact any Polearm or Staff will provide better stats than that dagger after level 58.
Take a look at these two lists and pick your weapons. Blue, good quality, definitely better stats that the dagger:

Polearms
2.

A 2H heirloom hammer? He's lvl 40 now, want to get him something that will last till Northrend, or at least lvl ~65.

Thx, but it looks like most of those require some kind of grind - either instance or rep, and the few quest ones are later levels. I'm going to quest powerlevel this druid straight to 80, skipping all that stuff.

Also, if my 80 main enchants the heirloom shoulders with
Greater Inscription of the Axe
, I assume the buff won't apply to my 40 druid till he hits 80 and gets exalted Sons of Hodir?

I don't think you even can enchant heirloom items

You can only use enchants with no ilevel requirement, since the item level is always 1.

Then why bother opening a topic? You have the dagger, it is the best heirloom out of a (staggering) one possible for optimal use with a feral spec leveling. But believe me, it's going to be much harder leveling up with that puny little dagger's small stats instead of some nice weapons. Your choice.
Duh... >_>

Well, specifically I was wondering if the hit+spell power on the heirloom Staff of Jordan, plus agi/ap/crit on other armor I pick up along the way, is a viable alternative to the dagger's feral stats. Melee +hit and better self-healing is still useful for druid leveling, is it not?
It's hard to tell what heirloom items' stats will be at, say lvl 50, 60, 70, and how they compare to AH and quest greens and blues at that level, when I'm looking at it on my 80 dk. Just wondering if someone else has already done this and knows which is the best route.
