I have the following:
j/c & enchant on my lvl 80
mining & skin on lvl 24
tailoring on a new mage
I was thinking of adding BS to the mage - for end game gem slots and the lock picking would be a nice bonus too. Other options would be alchemy, inscription or LW.
My lvl 24 miner can help with levelling it but at lost profits from selling the ore. Just not sure I can make much gold with BS to justify it over alchemy, inscription or LW. I have a steady inflow of gold from j/c, enchant, mining, skinning and fishing but don't want to waste it all just to level BS.
I've read the stickies and BS seems to not be a great money maker but perhaps that has changed.
Interested in some thoughts on this.

BS isn't a moneymaker. You're right there. Belt Buckles are okay, but they're small margin. I get more from offering to open lockboxes (titanium keys are cheap to make, like a 15g investment for 20 keys).
Alchemy and Inscription are also in the "just ok" realm, but you don't have a herbalist, so I'd probably not choose those.
LW might not be too bad because you can still make items for your enchanter to DE. the spellpower bracer enchant is 44 sp more than the current spellpower enchant for bracers, and you won't make those up with 2 gem slots in BS, but that's also shackling you to spellpower (instead of using BS slots for hit rating or something you may need more).
You could also just make his #2 herbalism. Get some cash and a self-heal, and possibly stock up on items for a future alchemist/scribe.
