I've been playing wow for 2 years, tried playing alliance at first but quickly changed to horde and never looked back.
I have 3 level 80's and will be working on my DK at some point, then it struck me that they are all melee's.
I've tried a mage, hunter and warlock all to level 20 or so, but never further.
I'm wondering what will be more fun? I plan to get every class to 80 (nolifelol) so it's not much of an issue, I want to know what you think.
I'll make a druid in 3.2 for the awesome new forms.
I always get annoyed when a caster can nuke me down from range its really annoying, and through terrain without being able to get to them -.-
So I intend to give a ranged class a try, opinions?
I'll also try alliance at some point, just for fun.

Pretty much all casters aren't fun until a higher level.
Balance Druids - Level 50 @ moonkin
Elemental Shamans - They're just boring until a high level.
Mage - I'd say around 25-30, which is when you can AoE grind.
Warlock - I hate these things. I've tried playing one to 30 but it never got exciting.
Hunters - Ehh.. Not really casters, but, they're just monotonous.
Priest - Level 40 @ shadow form
Holy Paladins - I lol'd.

I'd say mage is a real fun being frost when you reach 30+ lvls. I always liked those huge crits with frostbolt or AoE grinding.

I've never really been bored with my warlock. Even in the horrid sub 20s, it was still pretty cool.
The Affliction instant-cast DoT spells keep you on the go, especially in instances. You don't just sit and button mash on one target or spam an AoE. You blast your rotation, tab, and blast it again, then cycle back and cast different spells, Lifetap or Drain Soul, or refresh your DoTs. You're always working. I leveled as Affliction. It was a breeze.
I now play Destro (at 71 currently) and its fun, but in a different way. When you've been Drain-tanking for 60 levels, switching to a spec that burns stuff to the ground in 3 spells is exciting. Its much more challenging in instances though. When you've got Conflag and Chaos Bolt hitting for huge crits, you spend the majority of your time battling aggro and not mobs. But stuff usually dies fast enough that it isn't a huge problem.
Its fun. Give it a go.

For me druid is fun (have 2 at 80)
But as far as ranged dps, Mage to me is very fun to level mainly because it is a little harder at times (note: not slower but harder) as in if you arent careful you go down real fast. (this will happen alot when you first try to AoE grind haha)
Locks are alot of fun as well, a little like a hunter and kinda boring for the first 20+ levels but then it gets interesting. Drain tanking is awesome something about just running around nonstop with 15 things wacking on you and dropping like flies is great! The only thing you worry about is them evading :(
I like my hunter and now that he is finally in outland he even has some decent gear and doesnt run oom so quick. Being able to change to different random pets is always fun and can keep you interested in leveling.
Then there is my shammy, I ended up leveling him as resto/ele with the RAF bonus and a tank buddy, so i hit 60 reallly fast. at 60 I went ele and havent played him much at all, it seems to me that the ele shammy is most boring spam chain LB and LB repeat keep totems down /yawn
So i will give my shammy another chance soon but for now I am leveling the others and gearing my druids...

Really depends on your personality. I have been maging for 20 years, no matter what the game, because I get blasts, I am squishie, and I can port all over. I can't get into a 'Lock, I don't know why but I can't, druids are out, as I can't play a Night Elf, but I just got a Shaman to the 20's, and she seems like she could be a hoot. Find one to suit you and play it. If none suit you, then.....hmmm, maybe you aren't meant to be a caster :)
Oh yeah, priests, if you can get by the beginning, they aren't too bad. Levelling one as Disc for me was more fun than Shadow, even though I swapped off every level. All of these get more fun about 25 talent points in.

I love priests, and there's a fun lolsmite spec up on the priest boards.
But priest is definitely not for everyone, it makes most people want to get all stabby.
Try a lock, it comes with a personal tank for soloing ;)
