Pet Pathing Issue?

Was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same thing I am, and/or knew the cause of it and anything to do to help it.
I just started playing a hunter after getting one to 67 and then switching servers, and for some reason it feels like the pets are horrible at staying put. I'll send my pet off to attack, and once he reaches the mob, instead of standing and attacking it like he should, he'll start running off into another direction. He's not going after another mob or anything, he just runs off and after 30 or so yards, stops running and continues attacking the mob I sent him after.
It's not a huge deal in the open world, but as soon as I enter a dungeon, it can become hell when he does it. He'll go after the mob I tell him too, and then run off and pull more mobs than was expected.
It doesn't happen all the time, so I don't know if it's a bug or what the issue is. I manually send my pet in all the time, he's always on passive, so I can keep the control of him in most cases.
So yeah, anyone else experiencing this? Or does Blizzard know about it and are looking to fix it? It can be really annoying at times.

Okay, what do you mean by "being quick on the controls" ?
Is there something I can be doing to stop this from happening as bad?
I've tried calling the pet back and resending it, but I didn't notice if it did anything, as the pet kept running towards me. Will that help?

He attacks the mob in that place where he ran to, or does he come back?

It happens to me all the time, but for me, it isn't a bad thing, because my pet usually takes the mob to the edge of my range, and by the time I draw aggro off it and it reaches me, its dead.
