OK guys, take it to the randomness forum :P
I didn't think Dobbel was out of place in his response to svirve. I was about to post a very similar thing, since I wanted to say exactly what svirve did say, but tried being nice ;p
@ basketboy - they've already nerfed this spec, they did it in 3.2. 3.2.2 comes with some benefits, but not enough to make it feasible again, I don't think. Even for AoE work, the fact that SoC will proc on Crusader Strike, but not Shield of Righteousness (I presume, since ShoR doesn't anything proc at the moment), means that Ret pallies will still have the edge.

Actually i found it quite constructive that someone can appreciate me making a funny. Seeing as i'm prolly the most arrogant person on these forums (maybe tied with q-west<3). Though this arrogance has somehow led to quotes like the one in my signature which i for the love of me cant understand (well i understand the meaning but not really how it's possible).
On top of that i found the quote from GC to be a rather good source, atleast he's aware of what we're doing here.
But i have to agree with squishy. I was about to post a very similar thing as well when i read that post.
Or ehm.. i mean.. OK guys, take it to the randomness forum :P
Thank god for quotes *phew*

It's potentially a nerf, since it becomes less bursty for PvP, but DPS wise it should be an improvement.
Bigger nerf came in the change to ShoR.
Not many calcs have been done using glyphed Command. I believe that Command will probably be better than ShoR, on the basis that ShoR is untalented for PvP (against humanoids, due to Crusade), but I don't have the numbers to prove it, and unfortunately, I don't have the time to either. It seems to make sense though. It's also bursty due to crits, which is good for PvP.

The nerf to spellpower gain from Stamina and the lower Blockvalue cap has nerfed my burst with rougly 1-1.5k on AS and 500-1k on Shield of Righeousness but this is more then made up for with the change to BoS.
Actually, unless you're using prot gear you'll have way more than half your stam as STR thus you will have recieved a gain in SP with the change to TbtL. Also the BV cap only applies to ShoR, and it's 2760 with DR kicking in at 2400.
Edit: If you plan to use this spec in serious arena make sure you don't forget the required Spell Penetration for your AS, it can make or break a match.
No such thing as holy resistance, spell penetration is redundant. Also i believe that AS works like a ranged physical attack, it cant be resisted, dodged and parried, but it can miss.

Spell hit tables or physical hit tables though? Judging by how often it lands in practice, I think it's physical hit, but I'm not 100% certain.

I was under the impression that Cyclone was the biggest battlegroup in EU oO. Anyhow that's offtopic.
Are you sure your friends are aware that there is no holy resistance(well they might be aware but most people tend to forget that holy is the only spell school you cant resist)? Maybe they're talking generally you need some spell penetration and doesnt consider the fact that it's completely redundant for paladins?
I'm 90% sure that AS uses melee hit, havn't had the time to test it though.

Biggest isn't always best q:
Misery has the highest amount of highrated teams out of any of the European battlegroups.
I didn't use the term biggest as in largest amount of players, rather as in Cyclone has the biggest amount of skilled players, the biggest amount of sponsors, the biggest amount of public recognition.
But i havn't payed attention to arena much lately, only play a few games on my rogue now and then and that's about it.
And having the highest amount of highrated teams just mean that alot of people suck that boost you up there ;p
Enough of that though. Even if AS would use spell hit it causes holy damage, there is no resistance to holy, thus it's impossible to resist it.
Looking at a couple of WWS reports i couldn't find any AS that was partially resisted.
I'll try and determine later if it uses spell hit or melee hit.

It's no less viable than it was in 3.2.2, as far as I'm aware.
The only major changes to Paladins (as far as PvP / DPS is concerned) in 3.3 is the nerf to Lay on Hands.

How is Mana in terms of going Oom on this spec go?
Divine Plea helps but at 80 only having what 5K mana? 25% doesnt help out much. Plus Againsts Spell casters BoS doesnt give us any mana back on spells.

Having troubles seeing this over ret, though lately i have been hearing people say ret has gone down the toilet, dying really fast and all, but at least they can burst and have mana. then just blowing divine plea time the CD is up.

Actually, Protribution has better burst. Just less sustained damage than ret.
At least that's how it was like... 3 content patches ago, was it now?

So this is better than ret for its survivability right?
