Ok I am a tank veteran, lol. I have been prot since bc came out and recently deactivated my account for about 6 months when I came back I was out of a guild, I pugged around some and i have 3/5 T7.5 and one T7. the rest a mix of 213 and 200 ilevel items.
I am really confused because i come back and all the sudden its harder for me to hold threat. When im supposed to be MT in a raid and the less geared pally OT lets you get a shield bash and 3 or so sunders then out threats you it makes you a little embarrassed and using taunt to make the mob attacking you is just adds more shame. Not to mention dps was pulling aggro over and over again in a heroic.
I dont know if im doing things wrong or did everyone else get a buff while I was gone. Here is my armory
Warrpig
, have fun with it please any advise helps.
Thank you

thanks for the tips. some of that i was doing some i wasn't, but i do think i will re glyph and use cleave a lot more. i wasn't sure how it would stack in big pulls vs sunder but im willing to try. my t-clap is always on cd especially in big pulls, along with shockwave.
on topic slightly off though, if a boomkin pulls a pack of mobs then hurricanes before i even charge in does that make me a terribad tank or is he just F#%&ING retarded? i mean i have half the since to let him die for his stupidity but the nice guy wants to save him, if you were a nice guy how would you pull all that threat off him assuming that your challenging shout was on cd? (mine wasn't but i wasn't gonna waste it saving his ass)

My way to do it: do not tab switch, you keep autoattacking one target (the skull usually) and use this macro:
#showtooltip
/cast Devastate
(I've macroed all my skills that way so it's the same for Shield Slam etc) with nameplates on to get AoE threat (after you used TC and Shockwave of course).
That doesn't prevent you from using Cleave of course, but you just don't have to spam Tab and hover over the nameplates, calmly building aggro.
If a DPS pulls a mob before you even get to it, then either the DPS is an idiot or a really good buddy of yours who knows you will save him and/or does it to help you (like I used to play with a mage who opened the fights with a pyro and then I taunted, which resulted in me having a lot of threat right from the start).

I'm sure this works, but I can't imagine that one Devastate every 1.5 seconds is going to be more threat than three Cleave hits every 1.6 seconds. That's three attacks at 100% damage plus three times as many chances to proc Deep Wounds.
I just wanted to say that with a mouseover macro you don't need to switch targets with tab. You still use Cleave, it will always hit the skull plus 2 (with the glyph) other targets, while you're free to mouseover devastate.
