Looking forward what Blizzard is planning to do! Never played vanilla world of warcraft but like to give it a try now blizzard has official plans to release it!
I can't say what they will decide. But here is my train of thought.Classic should be servers within the current infrastructure on their own battlegroup. So no paying for a second subscription, that's dumb. Yes they are a business and want to make money, but charging just for classic would keep a large percentage of people from trying it. Less people trying it out means less for lfg and raiding, crap economy, and a dead server. Ask how us people on low pop servers feel.Account wide items? Yes. Lock out flying mounts for sure. Possibly even anything newer than vanilla for lore reasons. But definitely let me keep the vanilla mounts I got. Especially important for those that got scarab lord the first time around and want to show out.The class/race combos will be similar to what we have now for the vanilla classes, so horde can still have cow pallies and alliance won't miss out on shaman totes. Here is one truth people aren't ready for however. Do not expect a true to vanilla balancing of classes. Vanilla was so far off kilter for some classes that there is NO way they would leave it like it was. Expect bc style paladins, and tanks in general. Expect the questing world to be similar to how 1-60 is now, but WAAAAY slower. In true vanilla there weren't enough quests to get to 60 so you had to grind the last level or 5. That won't stand.I also don't expect a return of the reagents to cast spells. Otherwise Yay vanilla, see you guys there! (in 3 years)
no matter what choices they make about making changes or not to QoL stuff, there will be people complaining
I really hope loot is going to be account wide to live, i would love a zulian tiger and not pay millions of gold to the bmah for it, and i hope the nuisance things of vanilla are changed, just minor quality of life things
Hype!
This seems so cool, hope Blizz gets it working.. will make the leveling of alts worthwhile again
Please don't want more money for this.
I think they will rework it ....
I hope they'll implement Burning Crusade version. It is same as vanilla, but with better balance. Nothing was ruined yet in BC, only improved.
They oughta handle this like Old School Runescape.Completely seperate, the last build for vanilla and nothing from 8.0 useable.Biggest thing i could see them have to work around is getting the old code working on the new filesystem... vanilla would likely be a mess and still using .mpqAlso integrating battlenet into everything.
i want lich king legacy server
As someone who hasn't played since vanilla, I look forward to this!
If it will be free, while you have an active subscription, I'll maybe -maybeeee- give it a shot, if WoWC requires another sub, forget about it.
I honestly never thought I'd see this happen, what a great surprise to the players who are looking for something like this!
I'm glad people are excited about this but I got my fill of vanilla the first time around and don't especially want it back in my life. I'd probably check it out just to see the pre-Cata zones populated again but it wouldn't keep my attention beyond that novelty. Also personally it's hard to get excited when there's no ETA.
This is the best WoW news ever! I hope they make over expansion servers too!
I'd want it to stay vanilla-like, no tokens, no account-wide stuff. Maybe some QOL changes like being able to compare items using shift from the loot table, not being forced to pick up everything etc
I hope we'll be able to play on the Classic servers with our normal WoW sub. I don't want to have to have two subs, that would be a little much. It will be interesting to play so I'd like to try it when it comes out.
I have slowly come around to the idea of having a classic server. Started in BC (early on) and I am curious to see what the actual vanilla servers were like. I realize that we’ve come a long way regarding QoL, but going back to that time will be neat.
