Level 3 Herb Garden offers:

Placing up to 21 work orders, one requires 5x Draenic Seeds and produces a variety of random Draenor herbs and occasionally some Apexis Crystal. It takes four hours for one work order to complete. Work orders may also sometimes contain Abrogator Stone / Elemental Rune if you are on the respective quest.

16 random Draenor herb nodes per day for gathering without having Herbalism. Nodes also contain sometimes Draenic Seeds and/or Primal Spirit. When gathering the nodes, there's a chance to spawn Disturbed Podling which drops more herbs and has also a chance to drop Nightshade Sproutling.

An unique fruit tree which allows the player to loot various fruits for food buffs. There are two different kind of fruits available each day and when you loot them all, they spawn back quite quickly. Each kind is unique up to 10 fruits and you also have as chance to loot a perfect fruit for a bigger buff. Here are the fruits you can loot:

Giant Nagrand Cherry - 75 Critical Strike for 1h
Perfect Nagrand Cherry - 75 Critical Strike for 2h, persists on death
O'ruk Orange - 75 Haste for 1h
Perfect O'ruk Orange - 75 Haste for 2h, persists on death
Fuzzy Pear - 75 Mastery for 1h
Perfect Fuzzy Pear - 75 Mastery for 2h, persists on death
Greenskin Apple - 75 Multistrike for 1h
Perfect Greenskin Apple - 75 Multistrike for 2h, persists on death
Ironpeel Plantain - 75 Versatility for 1h
Perfect Ironpeel Plantain - 75 Versatility for 2h, persists on death

You can also assign a follower with Herbalism trait to the building. Doing so increases the work order yield (affected by the follower level) and gives the ability to choose to keep on farming random herbs or pick one certain herb to grow. The choice can be made by talking to Naron Bloomthistle (A) / Tarnon (H). Your choices are the basic Draenor herbs:

Frostweed
Starflower
Fireweed
Talador Orchid
Gorgrond Flytrap
Nagrand Arrowbloom

Any Idea where I can find or plant that "unique fruit tree" mentioned?
Although having the garden on Lvl3 the only tree standing in my garding seems to have severe lack of growing fruits :(

Edit : Workaround available
If your tree does not want to grow fruits: Switch your garden follower out and back in.
You might have to repeat this step every time 'something' changes with your followers. e.g. leveling up or even raising a followers item lvl.
Switching your follower out and back in again always fixed the problem for me.

Hotfix Notes from 03/12/2014

Herb Garden Level 3: The Draenor fruit tree should now always bear fruit even if no Followers are assigned to work there.

As of 4/12/2014 I can't confirm that for EU
My bufftree still needs more love to grow something.
Switching followers out and back in again still fixes that.
Maybe this wasn't live for EU yesterday.

I'm curious...I assigned a follower to my herb garden, but I don't see them there. Every other building that I have assigned a follower to, I can actually see them there. Do followers assigned to the herb garden not show up in the herb garden?

GARRISON HERB GARDEN FRUITS
I personally tested, and looked through each page's comments, as well as the Wowhead guide to put the following information together:

To obtain fruits from your herb garden, you must have Herb Garden Level 3.
If you have a follower assigned to your garden, you may have to reset him/her in the working slot to get the fruits to appear.
As shown by the tooltip, you can only carry 10 of each type of fruit at one time.

The fruit that spawns daily is random but 2 types can spawn on the same day. Combinations I have witnessed:

WEEK 1	WEEK 2
Monday	O'ruk Orange	Giant Nagrand Cherry
Tuesday	O'ruk Orange + Ironpeel Plantain	Greenskin Apple + Ironpeel Plantain
Wednesday	Giant Nagrand Cherry	Fuzzy Pear
Thursday	Giant Nagrand Cherry + Ironpeel Plantain	Nothing
Friday	O'ruk Orange	Greenskin Apple + Ironpeel Plantain
Saturday	Greenskin Apple	O'ruk Orange + Ironpeel Plantain
Sunday	Nothing	Fuzzy Pear

They each provide their own secondary stat buff once consumed.
They are conjured items, so they will disappear (from your bags) if you log out for more than 15 minutes.
However, the Well Fed buff will remain on your character and you may still obtain more from under your tree.
The fruit containers have a respawn time of about 10 seconds.

There are 5 types of fruits that will spawn under the tree (next to your herb garden) within lootable 'containers' of themselves.

O'ruk Orange (container)
Ironpeel Plantain (container)
Giant Nagrand Cherry (container) - (not to be confused with Nagrand Cherry from the Burning Crusade xpac)
Fuzzy Pear (container)
Greenskin Apple (container)

When looting the containers for each fruit, there is a small chance (~2%?) you may receive a "perfect" version of the respective fruit, instead of the normal version (listed above).
NOTE: you CAN receive the perfect version if you have all 10 of the normal version already in your bag.

Upon Use, the perfect version will immediately give the Well Fed buff, last for 2 hours (up from 1), AND persist through death, which makes them ideal for raiding. This buff also periodically applies: Path of Cenarius.

NOTE: while mounted with the buff you will get the following error text: "Spell cannot be cast on a mounted unit." This is due to that periodic cosmetic effect.

Perfect O'ruk Orange - (I don't know why it is rare-quality)
Perfect Ironpeel Plantain
Perfect Nagrand Cherry
Perfect Fuzzy Pear - (I don't know why it is rare-quality)
Perfect Greenskin Apple

Tip: Make sure that none of your followers are hanging around your Herb Garden before you start herbing. If a Disturbed Podling spawns, your follower will most likely attack it and then you won't be able to loot it! You can avoid this by simply talking to the follower(s) and getting it to patrol with you.

Okay, this has got to be a reference to Animal Crossing. The fruit trees you plant in the game also have a chance to bear "perfect" fruit.

Level 3 Herb Garden seemed to be missing fruits for me.

Edit: Apparently, it is possible for the fruit tree to simply not spawn any fruit for a particular day. Just something to take into consideration...
