Everytime i try to reach 56 48 to get Silvermoon City explored, guards kill me. Is there another point to earn this?

My daughter just found a way in to Silvermoon City without dying. There is a small crack in the wall at 53,29. Just go right in there and right back out!

Knocked this entire area out in about an hour as an alliance paladin player.

For the grande finale - Silvermoon City: I took off all my armor (damn near buttnaked) jumped on my Charger with Crusader Aura and headed for the main entrance. I made past all the guards by the gates and into the city. Roamed the city freely for about 5 mins and tried to leave. Got caught by the huge garrison waiting by the front gate.

Guess they were miffed at the fact that some naked dude on a horse just crashed their city gates - LMAO!

I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting the achievement, so I looked through the list.

Lake Elrendar, right next to Tor'Watha. Exploring it reveals absolutely nothing if you've already seen the adjacent zones (if even then x3) so its very easy to miss. Just cross the islands in the middle of it.

If you have The Cartographer map addon, you use the above coordinates to make 3 macros that push the waypoints onto your map. I named the macros Eversong1, 2 and 3 but you can name them anything you like. The following is the lines for the three macros:

Make sure that you are in Eversong before you run the macros. After running the macros, you can look at the map and remove any waypoints that you have already discovered and then just ride to the waypoints.

Silvermoon City - As a Dwarf Hunter, I couldn't fit my fat butt through the crack. I even tried Noggenfogger. Finally just ran through the front gate and back out again. Managed to outrun my attackers.

On Dec 27th, I attempted to discover the locations in Eversong Woods, however the achievement was not logging credit for the discoveries right away. After my fourth discovery in the zone, I began getting credit.

I'm a skinny blood elf (Death Knight, so I hadn't discovered Silvermoon yet), but I couldn't get in the breach far enough to discover the city. I'll try procuring some Noggenfogger elixir and see if that will work.

My female draenei could not squeeze into the gap far enough to get credit for exploration.

One of the spots near the wall caused my character to get stuck, so I had to hearth out and wait a half hour.

Running in the front gates did get me the achievement, but I was unable to outrun my attackers -- a half dozen guards and a handful of Horde players. Due to lag, my Divine Shield ran out before the hearthstone was completed, and the swarm dropped my character quickly.

Silvermoon City is evil evil evil.

As a male Dwarf Hunter (LVL 74) I couldn't fit in the small crack on the north side.
So being an engineer I crafted a Gnomish Cloaking Device and equipped it. I had 10 seconds to run up the stairs, scoot past the guards at the gate, get the achievement. Then I died.

The guards at Silvermoon as of this morning are now level 85 and I never found the crack that was mentioned in earlier posts. I just got on my mount and ran like the wind into the city and back out had 4 guards chasing me at the point and just kept running until I lost the aggro.

The crack doesnt work anymore as far as i can tell...i got in easily enough but even as a gnome i wasnt getting the achievement and couldnt get all the way up the hill that starts partway up the crack.

Yeah, just tried to do this at lvl 72, didn't bother trying the crack. Made a run for the gate and got one hit by the guards before I even made it pass their posts. Then got a brilliant idea and just rezed inside the city then hearthed =D

Heads up to Alliance, the guards on the bridge leading to Sunstrider Isle are now level 90 elites and can one-shot an 85. Wade through the water to safely discover the isle.

I tried the crack (as a female worgen, and in all the druid forms), and it didn't work. :( However, I finally got the achievement by sprinting into the city, getting killed about ten steps away, and then using the ghost form to stroll past the guards and into the city. When I ressed, I was killed almost immediately (I'm only level 74), but I got the achievement first! :D

Update: As of 2:25 pm, 14 May 2011, The Crack is Still There, . . . . but unless you can get up pretty much straight walls, you can't get in completely from the angle of dirt they filled into the far side of crack. But, you can see the top of the Spire. Don't know if it is far enough to keep you from getting the achievement (I'm an Orc DK, checking out things to explore in the game) but you can still get in the crack pretty far. (Keep it clean, people Some of us are adults . . . . lolol)
Also, I found a way to get on top of the wall behind Falconwing Square, right next to the wall for the Scar, but kind of held and stumped there (for now).
SO keep your eyes open, and just because you are on an opposite faction doesn't mean that you can't check out things on your own side and discover new things . . .

Just found a nice and easy way to go in. For the info, i'm a level 83, geared in Vash'jir as stamina, with unholy secondary tree activated. Went into the front gate of silvermoon, gone the right way, then runed all round the center part, left on the left way. Discover Silvermoon, took 30k dmg, and still alive

So, the trick to getting into SMC for Alliance is to go in the front gates as far as possible (I made it about 4 feet in as a lvl 60 dwarf pally), die, then go to the range limit for resurrection in spirit form, then res. It may take a few tries, depending on your level, but it only took me twice to do it.

I found a neat way to get Silvermoon City explored as an Alliance player!

Head through the Ruins of Silvermoon and head towards Sunstrider Island

Go towards the bridge right before Sunstrider Island but don't get too close because there are level 90 ELITE guards there.

Follow the coast line to the backside of Silvermoon City.

Hug the wall of the city, and follow it all the way around until you find a tiny crack in the wall of the city! :D

Wedge yourself in there and it should give you Silvermoon City!

This is how I did it on my Night Elf :)

I am a lvl 83 female dwarf hunter and i was on a chopper. I slid in the crack very easy but I had to back up when I got the achievement. That crack saved my butt. I did run in and discovered Ruins of Silvermoon but i got killed several times. I had the Elixir of Water Walking and used that. I walked on the water to the Sunstrider Island. I walked on the water until I was behind Silvermoon City. The coords for the crack in the wall are 52.6 29.3. It was kind of hard to see, but with the coords, it was kinda easy. It took me a couple of days to do this because PvP scares the crap out of me.

I have no idea why people would get mad at your comment cause I (as a lvl 83 dwarf female hunter on a chopper) did exactly what you said and I fit in that crack easily. I am happy that I got that achievement now for EK.

Ruins of Silvermoon:

There's an easy way to get this, useful especially for low lvl toons or others having problems with the high lvl guards near the southern entrance.

On the north side of the ruins, by the northern coast, is a closed gate, just approach it, maybe a little on the right side. But avoid the hole to the right of the door (when facing it), because it's hard to get out of it. The coords are 48,31 - this is further west from the crack in the wall which may be used to enter Silvermoon City for some characters.

Just went through the front gate to Silvermoon City and got the achievement. I was mounted and started from the steps under/beside the main bridge into the city and just raced past the level 85 guards without getting shot at all. I stopped as soon as I got the achievement, like a d*** a**, was surrounded and killed but I think if you keep moving you could get to a safe place and hearth out. I'm a level 81 Fury Warrior with average green and blue equipment.

Gah - I can't figure out how to "reply" to his comment. This is regarding getting credit for Silvermoon City without actually entering it. It worked for me today.

The "crack" only gives you credit for the Ruins of Silvermoon. A much easier spot to get credit with 0% threat is at the bottom of the hill hugging the wall at 39.6, 36.9. To get there head north of the West Sanctum across the water and around the west coast till you get to this spot.

While you are up north swim directly across the bay (North Sea) to the southern tip of the northern island. There is a grassy hill with 2 white trees, make land fall at 39.6, 88.9 and you will get credit for Sunstrider Isle. Return the same way you came.

Got into Silvermoon City as an alliance worgen by going across the western wall at 64:36. It involves climbing some mountains, but it works. Just walk along the wall as close as possible until it's discovered.

Oh, and when the game says I'm in Silvermoon City (by being against the wall), my coordinates switch to 98:43.

I finally did this (Worgen, Level 61). Run up to the front gate, getting as far as you can. The guards shoot you down fast. Resurrect as far in as possible. It took me 2 times to get in far enough to get credit. Get out the same. Remember to strip down to avoid damage.

I found the Silvermoon City 'crack' but as a gnome warlock, my toon must be too short to get the credit as it can't get up the steep incline. I hate dying... a lot. Is running in the front door the only way to get credit for the City? I would appreciate any pointers for a gnome warlock level 90 demonology to get the credit without dying. And if dying is the only option, then pointers for a suicide run are appreciated too. Thanks!

I just finished the achievement "Explore Eversong Woods" as a lvl 70 night elf hunter. I have a few tips to add to those previously given, and a detailed description of my observations. By now, you all know that you cannot fly in Eversong. This achieve will be a LOT more difficult if you're a low level toon since you're on foot and no place is entirely "safe".
1. The list of all the places you need to "discover" is of course listed in your Achievements tab, under Exploration > Eastern Kingdoms > Eversong Woods. The names are grey until you discover them, then turn green. The coordinates given in this thread however are very useful to help find the places.
2. In general, avoid roads. They often have patrolling guards walking along. Further, you will be a target for PvP players, if any are around who want to hassle you. The Dead Scar runs all the way through North to South, and can be a pretty good "highway" if the mobs don't bother you. Likewise, the Elrendar River which runs East-West is helpful for navigating. Be careful crossing roads or going underneath bridges, look around for guards before proceeding.
3. The beast mobs are all quite low, and barely noticed me. As a hunter, my scorpid pet by himself took care of any beast or low level NPC that aggro'd. Since you're mounted, you can outrun most of them hopefully.
4. When I was killed (which was at least 8 times), I was always transported to the same graveyard south of Fairbreeze Village. I forgot to make note of the coords, but I can tell you it is located just between the two buildings that comprise the village. You cannot see the graveyard features when you're not dead, it just looks like a grassy place with a gold and red pillar, and a large white tree behind it. When I rezzed there, on several occasions, I was immediately re-killed by a guard (not a player). The trick is to run (as a ghost) behind the tree which is right behind the Spirit Healer and rez there, out of sight of the guards. You are also still in range to be rezzed if you go behind the smaller building to the west. Rez there, and if you wish, wait for your PvP tag to disappear.
5. I never bothered with repairs, because basically if they come to kill you, you don't have a chance, and besides, there is no place to get repairs. My armor was completely destroyed after being killed 5 times or so, and when your armor is gone, your spells and weapons do not work either. As I mentioned before, I did not need weapons against the low level mobs. If you don't have a pet or a minion, I don't know how you will do it. Perhaps you have a mammoth with a repair guy onboard. If not, try not to get killed..lol... which maybe all the tips will help you accomplish.
6. Once you rez behind the tree or the small building, run up the hill behind, in a northeasterly direction. Hug the rocks, and skirt around them going north as soon as the terrain permits.
7. I came up on foot from Ghostlands, and checked off many places completely unmolested. I don't think I got killed anywhere except at Fairbreeze, Silvermoon City and the Ruins of Silvermoon (and just outside the city as well, for instance at Thuron's Livery). If there are other problem areas, maybe people could comment on that.
8. The southern border of the Ruins and City is impregnable from what I can tell. I tried once just riding into Silvermoon, hoping I could get the credit before I was killed. Although I did make it inside the gates, it did not credit me. I read that some players just repeated this, rezzing a little further in each time until they got credit. I found my way more interesting, but probably more time consuming. :)
9. I took a water approach to get Sunstrider Isle, the Ruins of SM, and Silvermoon City. If you have a waterstrider (best) or raft (2nd best), it will make life much easier. You can use potions for waterwalking of course, but you might go through a bunch of them.
10. I went in the water on the west coast at the Elrendar River. I skirted the coast, going ashore a bit to bag certain features like the Golden Strand, as needed.
11. I crossed to Sunstrider Isle at the southeastern corner, where Falthrien Academy is. The minute I set foot on land it gave me credit for the entire Sunstrider Isle, including the Academy.
12. At that corner, there is a path going up the hill on the eastern side of the Academy, and I took that path up and along the eastern side of the crest. I crossed the watery inlet underneath the Academy and went uphill again on the other side to reconnoiter the back of Silvermoon and Ruins from across the waterway.
13. I didn't cross the bridge between Sunstrider and Silvermoon because I've read about high level PvP guards there, so I went across in the water, east of the bridge. I did eventually get on the path to enter the Ruins of Silvermoon when it looked like the coast was clear. Once inside, I left the path (going west) and was surprisingly able to run around for 30 secs or so with no guards in sight. I got credit for the Ruins a short way in, ran around a little and then departed.
14. I went back to Sunstrider Isle southeastern coast (again not using the bridge) and went as far east as I could before crossing over again to the mainland. At that point, I was far enough away from things that there seem to be no guards.
15. I looked for the "crack" that was originally mentioned by Honkycat in 2008, coords are 53, 29. It was there, but didn't look the way I expected. If you find the coords, you will see a large yellow "column" for lack of a better word, with some red detail on it. There is natural stone on the left of it, and a flat wall with carvings on the right of it. The "crack" is between that column and the carved wall on the right of it. It isn't like a real crack, it's a digital crack; it's a space between the digital images on each side. You can't see through the crack to the city inside. The "crack" is basically a really skinny steeply sloped walkway that gets narrower as you go up. You can't make it all the way up, but I was able to make it up far enough to get the credit for the "discovery" of Silvermoon City. I didn't intend to do it this way, but apparently the rest of this comment is a link to my pics of the crack. :)
16. When I first went up the crack, I was on my mount with my pet running alongside. I noticed my pet got quite a bit further up the crack than I did. I had to dismount of course then I did it again, without my pet, and had no problem. I wonder if, for you larger toons, if you have a pet that makes it further in, will it give you credit? Not sure of the answer.
17. For HUNTERS exploring Ghostlands and Eversong, consider stabling all but one of your pets and taming some interesting creatures while you're there. There are no rare pet spawns, but the dragonhawk and the cat with the pointy ears (elf-like) are pretty cool. I also got a mistbat in Ghostlands.
18. Finally, make sure to get the flight path in Ghostlands, even though Zul'Aman is not required for the Exploration Achievement.

Very simple way to do this, take off your armor. Run through the main gate, if you die due to the guards. Don't fear, resurrect to the graveyard but DO NOT unghost yourself AKA resurrect by the Spirit Healer. Run back to your body, run past it and into the gate. down one of the halls on the left or right accept the resurrect walk to the other side of the gate and boom you've discovered Silvermoon.

If this has been posted my bad but if it hasn't easy way to do it if you're not a 90

I'm a worgen warrior. Crack didn't work out with me, but I used heroic leap to jump hills to wall! :- D But it didn't work very well, I put screenshot about it. I jumped down from wall, explored SMC, and I got my achiement and died as a hero. :- D

I tried getting through the crack in the north wall, but no dice. After an hour of trying to find sneaky ways in, I ended up getting into Silvermoon City by simply stealthing through the front gate. I couldn't believe it worked.

My currently level 90 Draenei DK couldn't get the Silvermoon City credit from the crack in the wall, so I had to run through the entrance instead. As other comments have mentioned, be sure to take off your armour to minimise durability damage. I was oneshotted by the guards just inside the gate but was able to resurrect inbetween the outer and inner gates without aggroing guards.

It's handy to leave this til last and keep your HS off cooldown so you can just hearth out without having to run past the guards again.

I was having a difficult time finding Duskwither Grounds while using TomTom and while on Sunstrider Isle. The location is Southeast of Silvermoon City (in Duskwither Spire). TomTom got me there once I got back to the mainland.

I just got into Silvermoon as a level 75 character. I couldn't run past the guards without them killing me so I got on a fast mount, aggro'd the guards and then ran away from the city. I did a wide 180 with the guards chasing me and then ran through the now unguarded front gate. I hope this helps anyone else having trouble.
