That's a pretty wasted title for such a simple task. I would have much rather preferred it require you to kill at least 100 people but the progress doesnt get reset after death.

To unlock the toy N'lyeth, Sliver of N'Zoth, you will first need to turn War Mode on and become an Alliance Assassin or Horde Assassin by killing 10 players of the opposite faction without dying in Kul Tiras or Zandalar. The moment you reach Assassin, you will be offered a new quest from an unseen presence (presumably N'Zoth himself), requesting you to prove your worth to him by slaying members of your own faction.

There are two versions of this quest: Servant of N'Zoth for Alliance players, and Servant of N'Zoth for Horde players.

By accepting the quest, you will receive N'lyeth, Sliver of N'Zoth, which can be used to transform your character into a Servant of N'Zoth, but be careful - Using the item will damage you by 60% of your maximum health, so make sure you're fully healed before using it! The effect is quite cool, covering your character in tentacles and a void aura. The effect lasts for 1 hour.

The quest requires you to kill 10 of your own faction's members without dying. Dying at any point will automatically fail the quest, and you will need to reach Assassin again to start the quest over.

Completing the quest awards you a toy version of N'lyeth, Sliver of N'Zoth that allows you to become a Shath'yar without requiring reaching Assassin, as well as the Feat of Strength Servant of N'Zoth, which awards the title . According to N'lyeth, Sliver of N'Zoth description, you are able to become a Servant of N'Zoth in Kul Tiras, Zandalar, Uldum and Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

Eridana-ZJ's Guide to getting N'lyeth, Sliver of N'zoth

A couple of things I’ve noticed and how I got this achievement done:

Shortly after you kill one or two of your own faction, there is a high probability that you will become bounty hunted. This makes killing people of your own faction difficult since you can’t fly and the opposite faction is chasing you down.

I was bouncing around Nazjatar trying to get it done, but would get overrun when the bounty on me happened.
I tried logging out for a bit to see if bounty would drop, it dropped the bounty, kept assassin, and dropped my quest.
Hearthing or teleporting to other BFA zones seems to also drop the quest.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could kill some of your faction and hide from the prying eyes of bounty hunters? You can!
But I recommend gathering some sacrifices, I mean a few friends, to help.
If you get 4 sacri-, er, friends, you can be done in 21 minutes after accepting your tentacles from N'Zoth.

This is a great week to get the toy because of Call to Arms: Nazjatar.

This place has been a favorite spot to hide while trolling. It’s also a perfect spot to hang out and bathe in your tentacly glory while you’re a bounty.

So. While you’re waiting here, invite 4 friends over to the mouth of the cave. I was able to invite them to group to make sure they were in the same shard as of today. Once they are there, have them take off all their gear, pop out of the cave for a few seconds, mow them all down with focusing iris, and make your way back to the safety of Mardivh’s lab.

Your buddies will have a 10 minute debuff not allowing their deaths to count towards your progress. They can put their gear back on and fly off to do other stuff and come back in 10 minutes for more laser to the face. Some will try to find you in the cave, but it’s been my experience that people chasing your bounty will just fly away, because they realize you’re trolling them in the cave. When your buddies come back, have them tell you when the coast is clear and mow them down again.

Repeat the process three times and you're done. This should take a little over 20 minutes after you use the sliver. Make sure you're at 100% HP before using it!

UPDATE: I've been reading other comments that say their quest item kills them. This leads me to believe that the Sliver of N'Zoth's damage effect can CRIT!
I noticed it hurting more than it should while trying to do the quest and didn't really put much thought into it. Sometimes it would chunk me down to about 15-20% health, but would never kill me. Even now that I have the toy it will chunk me every once in a while.

The only reason I think I have been surviving every time it crits is because my WPVP set has ~12% versatility. I highly suggest using a defensive or having a decent amount of versatility when you use the quest item/toy. Keep in mind that it is shadow damage.

It is possible to gain the quest The Alliance Slayer/The Horde Slayer while killing players of your own faction. Players of your faction will count for the opposite one (Killing Horde players will count for The Alliance Slayer).
So you can get both The Alliance Slayer/The Horde Slayer and Servant of N'Zoth achievements.

Edit: The Title is also not bound to the character that got the achievement; you can choose it on your alts.

My experience:
1. for some strange reason sometimes you can't get assasin buff in nazjatar. Probably temporal bug but i finished quest for 25 kills and hadnt it.
2. Join to group of other 4 good geared ppl who wants this achive. Because
a) you will be friendly to each other during "serving to N'Zoth"
b) this is hks. So you dont rly need to make final blow or even hit somebody. Just stay near victims while they die.
3. Don't forget: your victims ONLY players of you own faction. Dont waste time on opposite faction.
4. Most important: you can't logout to remove bounty for your head. Quest automaticaly failed. And when you back you will have assasin buff and N'Zoth buff BUT not the quest. Also if you sacrifice yourself and kill another 10 ppl after that to get new quest you still have internal CD on item. So you can get the quest again but cannot use transform item until 1h after last use expire. It was 40min for me. And ofcos you will get bounty on your head much sooner. So if you died - make 1h pause and repeat after. Dont waste time. With bounty you on your head your chances highly decrease.
5. If somebody in your party already got achieve - he can remove buff by click and be a +1 victim to score.

p.s. this buff also have some benefits. Mobs around neutral to you. So you can do loot quests w/o useless fights. Also if any player of your faction attacks you - you can simply rightclick on buff to remove it. So its pretty safe to be "servant" when you are playing solo.

Quick way to farm this (it has some risk since you're not immune from anyone else upsetting things):

Get a friend, or two, or three...it doesn't matter too much. Obviously, the more people there are, the quicker you get it over with. Make sure dungeon difficulty is set to Normal.

Head to Atal'Dazar and hide in the non-instanced version of the dungeon; do NOT enter the instance! A good place is the lake behind the rotting totem boss (Vol'kaal). There's even a small cubby within the walls that you can nestle into, underwater, if you so chose to do so. There may be some more out-of-the-way areas to get to, but it'll likely be hard if you managed to get a bounty put on your head during your endeavors (remember, having a bounty on your head removes your flying abilities, and you can't mount your friend's 2-person mounts to fly because they're you're enemies at this point).

Once everyone's there, make'em strip for quicker killing and then slaughter your friends. When they die, it's a 20-second flight from GY to their corpse. When they rez, they have a 10-second flight to AD's instance entrance. You, on the other hand, stay put and out-of-sight.

Once they enter the instance, they can mount up and run to Rezan. Engaging the boss (or any boss really, but Rezan is the easiest to get to) will cause the debuff to drop. They can choose to run out and not die, or they can just choose to die which shouldn't penalize them too much since their gear should already be off (and dying is quicker since it takes them back to the entrance).

Afterwards, they just run out, take another 10-second flight back to you and repeat their vicious death cycle until the achievement pops. Have fun!

Got mine on my Elf Druid during a zerg vs zerg in Naz. Used the knife, took a step to the side (while stealthed), used an aoe dot and pressed shadowmeld. Repeated the process over and over until I got the kills. Worked really well!

I'm find way how avoid debuff Bounty Hunted when you do quest for Servant of Nzot.

Its work only in Vale and Uldum.

1. Kill 10 playes oppiste faction and get buff slayer (Horde Assassin / Alliance Assassin) and quest Servant of N'Zoth / Servant of N'Zoth.
2. Flying to adjacent location: from Uldum to Un'Goro Crater or Tanaris. From Vale to Valley of the Four Winds or Kun-Lai Summit or Townlong Steppes.
3. Back to Uldum or Vale.
4. Use N'lyeth, Sliver of N'Zoth.

These actions allow you remove buff / from your character and reset counter kills for . BUT at the same time quest / does not disappear. Now you can do quest safely without debuff .

The large cavern in the vale where the assault end boss is located is a very good place to solo this as a rogue, since you can take advantage of the many mobs there (which are neutral to you during this) to have some protection and avoid being zerged. Alliance players didn't seem to look for me (since I was also flagged as a horde assassin), or they didn't think that I might be inside. Going out is a risky move but can work to grab a few additional kills.

Note that even though you can't fly once you are flagged as an assassin, using your ground mount outside is quite ok as all the mobs are neutral to you.

You can kill two birds with one stone. You can do Servant of Nzoth and Alliance Slayer at the same time. Once you hit the button activating the N'zoth Buff you can not fly and can not repair or talk to any players unless you are in a party. While you are killing your friends from your own faction, it counts as killing the opposite faction as well. So you can do the two quests and receive the titles at the same time. It counts for both.

To start you must kill 10 opposite faction members while in War Mode. Then you will get the Servant of N'zoth quest to kill 10 of your own faction. You will get Slayer of the Alliance/Horde quest within a few more minutes like 5-10 min of keeping the Assassin title. When you get both you can start killing your friends. But do not activate the N'zoth buff until you are safe inside Mardivas' cave so you won't lose your assassin title or the quests. Once you die you lose the quests and automatically fail.Do not teleport/hearth out of the zone otherwise you will lose the buff and fail the quests automatically.

Go to Najatar and stay inside Mardivas' Cave since it is instanced. Do not hit the button to start until you are inside the cave. Others can still kill you and you will be flagged as an assassin still. Only come out when you need to kill your friends then go back in while you are waiting. You will have to start all over again with killing 10 people and becoming an assassin if you die. After killing your friends you can not kill them until their Debuff drops after 10 min. They can then do World Quests while you wait. I also suggest you have your friends recruit nearby players or people from the Najatar hub to allow you to kill them at least once. You can not talk to any players even within your own faction when you have the N'zoth buff. This is why you should be in a party with your friends so you can communicate with them and they can communicate with others. They can tell someone to stop killing you because you are on the quest. I also suggest having your friend jump to alts which will help speed this process up as well. You could try group finder but its rare you will find a good Samaritan to help. You can offer gold to get people to stay and help as well if they are on your server since you can not transfer gold to other servers.

I have access to two accounts so decided to do this today, prepared by moving a couple of toons to where my character who was going to do the killing was and started logging them off.

After killing a few I soon realized that there was a big advantage with Holy Priests.

They do NOT get the debuff. I assume this is due to the Spirit of Redemption talent.

So in the end, I just killed the priest, resurrect him, rinse and repeat.

So if you want to do this real quick together with one friend/yourself on multiple accounts - Bring a killer that can resurrect and a Holy Priest with Spirit of Redemption. You'll be done in two minutes.

Not entirely sure this is intended since N'zoth is dead, but I got this achievement today pvp'ing in Bastion. After 10 kills the quest popped up and I was able to kill alliance characters. 10 alliance kills later I completed the quest and received the toy, the title and the FoS.

This quest seems to be either bugged, or removed.

I tested in Zuldazar today with a level 55 Paladin as the killer on Horde side, and a level 50 Priest victim on Alliance side.

I received Horde Assassin debuff fine, and earned The Alliance Slayer fine.

This quest was never offered to me throughout. So, until we get word from Blizz, I would consider this quest and achievement to be unavailable.

I did try to help my friend to get his servant of n'zoth back in march 2021 and i did try to ask some GM's if it's bugged or removed they don't even know if it's removed or bugged in first place so i did try it again like yesterday 2021/7/5 9.1 and still doesn't work

the only thing we can do is submit report to blizzard and hope they will fix it or tells us if it's removed

Forgot to do my patchly? update this time I did record myself attempting to do servant of N'zoth in patch 10.1 and did send the video yet this is their reply

Hey hey hey it's me again trying to see if they fixed the quest or achievement in general and yesterday or today depending on when you are reading this they did fix the bounties and band of brothers but they didn't fix Servant of N'zoth yet

Just so i can remind anyone about this Blizzard didn't mention anything about servant of n'zoth to be removed but the issue that we had is that in SL zones you can get the quest and that wasn't the idea the idea was they are limiting this quest in BFA zones but that hotfix destroyed the entire thing and made it impossible

so what remains now is to spam blizzard with bug report or talk to Gm's for it you can use my video from patch 10.1 as a proof if ever needed and i might read this message in S4 of DF maybe they will fix it

I just submitted a ticket for blizzard yet again BEGGING them to fix it and this time I have some proof and you might want to use those proofs if you wish to report them to them regarding this achievement

N'Zoth no longer has an active communication link between Azeroth and Shadowlands, preventing Horde and Alliance Assassins in War Mode from hearing the whispers in Shadowlands...

The hotfix was limiting the whispers of N'zoth aka Servant of N'zoth to BFA zones only during that time yet they didn't allow us to do it when we are in BFA zones so this is the issue we are facing

This is basically all proofs you will need if you ever consider reporting this to blizzard and if you do this thank you so much for trying with me to fix this achievement
