If you are confused where to go, there are two underground entrances to go in, inside of two destroyed houses. One contains the water and the other contains the soil and the portals. The entrances are located to the left of where you picked up the quests.

Water: 47.75, 78.29

If you're like me and end up stumbling onto a Waterlogged Tome, the quest is unrelated. You may as well pick it up and turn it in at new Dalaran for credit towards Harbinger, though.

Gotta love how the quests neglect to tell you that there are TWO SEPARATE sets of catacombs to go into. One in one destroyed house, and one in another.

If you don't see the entrance because of sun on screen, it is a warning. Put down the courtains or don't enter, otherwise you'll stay there forever.

At least this applies to the cave with waeter, because the one with soil and portals is not that dark.

When you stand between the 2 entrances the one on the left leads do the soil and the one on the right leads to the water.

As you appoach the correct spots you get a message that says "Your Arcane-Infused Vial warms as it emanates a soft glow." This indicates that you are near and should use the provided vial.

To get the soil head down the left ramp until you get to a room where there are mages casting around a long fire pit. Head to the left of the room and you will see 2 very large barrels that have been half buried. Stand between them and use the vial. Voila you have the soil.

To get the water head down the right ramp until you come to a large body of water. Stand somewhere near the middle and use the vial. Voila you have the water and can complete the quest,

Just walk around and you'll find it. As you get near the source, you will see "YOUR ARCANE-INFUSED VIAL WARMS AS IT EMANATES A SOFT GLOW" across your screen

Recover an Essence of Corrupted Soil and an Essence of Corrupted Water from the caverns beneath Deadwind Pass.

Description

Everything the Legion touches is marred by fingerprints of their corruption. If I can study the traces of magic they leave behind, perhaps I can discern their plans for Karazhan.

This vial is specially reinforced to contain fel magic. If you bring me the essences of corrupted soil and water from near their portals, I believe we'll be closer to unraveling their scheme.
