-Intact Crab Shell
-Snapping Crab Claw
-Fine Sand
-Crab Oil

You'll get a drop every 5 kills or so.

Regardless that there's Leyscar Scuttlers on both sides of the waterfront and the quest blob covers both, I could only manage to get the items to drop on the Suramar side. Got 2 items in 5 kills on the Suramar side, moved to the Aszuna side and nothing for 25+ kills, moved back to the Suramar and got the missing 2 items in 2 more kills. Confirmation bias, maybe, but something to check if things aren't dropping.

It's a classic dad-with-a-shotgun protecting his daughter from any boy who's not good enough for her. Pearlhunter Phin is brave enough to face her armed dad just to prove how much he loves her. It's adorable.

Got my items, tried to show them to Phin, he looks at me bewildered and rolls his eyes but the quest won't complete. Any ideas?

This quest has one of the weirdest droprates in Legion.
Mobs 1 & 2 dropped quest items. I've been skinning every crab I've killed and the crabs give 2-4 scales.

At the time of writing this comment I'm 2/4 on this quest and I have 478 Stormscales in my bags - roughly 160 kills... and my bags didn't have any scales when I started..

Update: Decided to abandon the quest at 524 Stormscales..

You get all the items from the Leyscar Scuttlers in the area. They're the same NPC regardless of whether you kill them on the Azsuna or Suramar side.

I think part of the problem might be that there seems to be some sort of phasing issue between Suramar and Azsuna making some of the mobs not totally lootable (or skinnable) for whatever reason, or phasing in and out mobs. Drop rate didn't seem bad, like 1 in 4 or 5 of the mobs that didn't loot bug.

The drop rate rivals some old "fun" quests from TBC. Just be patient and farm Leyscar Scuttler. You will get all the parts eventually.

If you are trying to turn this in and don't have an option to show Phin the sand, you will need to abandon and restart the quest.

I did this quest over a few days and found that the items I collected in the first session, including the sand, did not show up as options to show to Phin. I abandoned the quest, removing all four quest items and picked it up again. Afterwards,I needed to kill mobs again to get just the sand, as that is the only item that Phin wants.

Hope that helps anyone else who's quest bugs like mine did.

If you gathered the four items and can't figure out why you can't complete the quest, show the items to the murloc in order on the quest dialog: shell, claw, oil, sand.

This quest is unusual as it does not complete when you pick up the items, you have to talk to Pearlhunter Phin to complete. When you have some items go and talk to him (he's at 15.24, 52.48) and he has 4 options to show him one of the items, keep clicking those and eventually the quest completes.

For everyone having problems with the drop rate, I think I've figured out the problem. Mobs on either side of the border can drop the quest items, but YOU HAVE TO KILL THE MOB IN SAME ZONE THE MOB ORIGINATED IN TO GET THE LOOT. Otherwise you will get a get a message every time you loot it saying that there was no loot found. Ranged classes especially need to be careful of this, as the border runs rather crazily down the middle of the canal, and if you're running through the water just pulling everything you can see to you, the vast majority of your kills will not drop anything, quest item or otherwise. RUN TO THE MOBS, and as an added precaution, pull them deeper into the zone they're in, not out toward the canal. Go to them; don't pull them to you.

This quest is very badly bugged and Blizzard is denying any knowledge about it. The problem with the quest is the phasing between Azsuna, Val'sharah & Suramar as the mobs needed for the quest, spawn on the border of the three zones. Due to moving around, the zone phases which not only causes you to lose quest loot on some mobs, it also causes lag (spell casting) when phasing between the two borders. Blizzard should adjust the border at this quest area, so it all falls under the Suramar zone, seeing that the quest mobs are for a Suramar quest anyways. It only makes sense to do this. It has been annoying with every alt on this quest, and here I am again today with my Frost DK, same issues several months later.

Okay I figured I could help out by translating this for those of you who aren't fluent in Murloceese

Mrmlgr! Mrglr rlmgrg mlrgr! Mrlgmr...

This is a standard re-greeting, saying hello to some that you already know, a common phrase. The last word is roughly translated, "Did you find it?"

Self-explanatory. Murlocs usually use expressions to give a slight hint to what they will be talking about next.

Mmlrgmlr rlmgr grlmrmlg mglrmglr. Mlrgmrl rmglr? Mlgrmglr!

This is pretty straight forward, roughly translated "There appears to be a small flaw in the side of my old pearl. I wonder how that happened? Adventurer, I request your service again!"

Gmmlrgmrl mlrgmlr lrglrmgrl lrlgllrlm mglrlr grlm-grlm.

This part gets a little tricky, as the Murloc, somewhat begrudged from the flaw in his orb starts to ramble and mutter out a little bit of nonsense. From what I can make out, he starts out talking about fixing the orb. He then mentions sand, but trails off for a second. He repeats the request for sand before one again trailing off.

<Phin makes a pinching motion with his hand.>
Mrlgmlgr mgrlmlgr? Mlrgmlr gmrlmglr Mrgrlilgrl.

This part is also straight forward, and he seemed to have gotten his mind straight after his mind started to trail off. It is roughly translated as "Could you get me some of that pleas? I believe some of those crabs walking around the area may have them."

As of today, everything seems to be working perfectly. I made numerous trips between Suramar and Azsuna, didn't lose anything and even logged off and returned after several hours. This is after the recent 7.2.5 so maybe this quest got fixed.
