While some may be found creatively avoiding mobs, some cannot. Most mobs over 1300K HP and rares scattered about. If completing by yourself, best way is to run through as much as you can till they drop aggro and if you do die, die and rez close to these spots. A lot of this is timing the pats.

They do emit a static sound when you are close.

First one found at 51.67, 22.53 (easy)
Another at 56.67, 20.64 (GL getting there)
Another at 60.40, 19.65 (Not far from last one)
Another at 52.04, 19.90
Another at 59.70, 26.75
Also 63.5, 21.43

A little macro with the locations of the 5 Pentangulate-o-tron 2000s. Most can be placed without having to kill any mobs. Only the one at 59.7 26.8 has 2 mobs too close.

I did this easily on a 644 arcane mage. I didn't kill anything. Just used the way points listed here on this page. If there was the possibility of getting attacked I just popped mirror image before trying to click the item. I died a few times but I didn't have to wait around trying to get a group or kill the nasty elites that were patrolling.

It can be soloed but you need to keep running and run fast if you do not want to figth them as said above - But one by one the mobs acn be done solo :)

It is easy as druid, just went into cat form and prowl and it was a peace of cake. I also found another one on 57.4 / 27.1 and another at 51 /20

If your soloing this quest, it's extremely helpful if you have a barn so you can just stay mounted while running from one thing to another.

If you've played a druid/rogue for long enough, this is pretty simple. Stay Prowled/Stealthed, weave through, go around, wait for mobs to walk past, and stand back. Use Dash/Stampeding Roar to make it through close calls.

There is only one sensor that you will be caught for, because the mobs are stationary right next to it. Leave it for last. Position yourself the furthest from them that you can, scoop it up, and escape to the left. You'll aggro another mob of the same kind, but if you keep following that path you'll be in the clear, lose them, and make it out safely. This also lands you near the exit. No rezzing or repair bills required!

Once you complete this quest, you get a Gnomish Flying Machine (Alliance) that takes you straight to the Throne of Kil'jaeden.

Click the copter and select "Let's fly to the Throne of Kil'jaeden."

It is located next to the Flight Master in Lion's watch. (Screen shot submitted)

If you do have group members, note that only one person has to actually place the signal for all to get credit. The group members just need to be in the same area (i.e. you can see their group dot on the minimap).

This means that if you have a friend who can stealth past mobs, you can stand in a safe place and let them set the signals, without aggroing every demon and their grandmother.

I just did it solo as a Destruction Warlock. Just used my Voidwalker and cleared anything in my way. No deaths but it took about 30 mins to do it all. FYI I am/was iLvl 695 at the time.

I also did it as an Arcane mage (iLvl 696). All I did was run up to the item, looted it then did Invisibility and I dropped agro. FYI, there is a 5 min CD on Invisibility and as you can sneak past 4/5 of the mobs, I'd do the one that is at "/way Tanaan 59.7 26.8" first.

I also found it significantly easier if the server was busy at the time as many roving pats were either attacked or aggroed at the time.

The waypoints posted were a GREAT help, loading them in as a macro (of course) made it so easy to just simply follow the arrows on screen to guide me to each location.

However, what confused me the most was that I was not initially understanding the directions in the mission details itself, which is what brought me here. The quest says:

"I'll need you to place some sensors along the edge of the summit."

To me, and likely many others, that indicated that I was to place the Pentagulate-o-trons myself, from my own inventory, not simply activate already present sensors located on the mountain. So when I got to the area and couldn't find the items in my bag, I was totally confused.

So, just be aware that this quest isn't worded very well and actually doesn't want you to place these items, but simply activate the already present pentagulate-o-trons located around the edge of the plateau. Following the coordinates provided by others here will take you right to them, works perfect.

If you've got stealth, this is a gift. Even the dogs, which you would think would spot you, don't. If not, consider invisibility potions; less expensive than the repair bill. The mobs are scary-looking but have a shorter aggro range than some others and don't run that fast. Not many of them have stun, so keep your sprint potions handy. The spot I did last (63.5, 21.43) was the only one that aggroed the very-close mobs, but I just did a 180, jumped off the cliff, popped a Goblin Glider Kit and headed to safety. Kind of fun, actually.

As a druid this is so easy (if you can fly in Draenor), it's unfair to other players. Just morph to travel form, you don't lose the form when interacting with the beacons, just activate and fly away.

After doing this on my Feral, I tried it on a rogue. As before, the first four beacons were easy. On the fifth, three things happened. The first is that Distract failed. Three times in a row and I tried three different locations. The second is that I Vanished and something knocked me out of Vanish but it wasn't one of those AoE shock effects. It just failed. My Vanish fail rate is now at about 20%. I don't know if that's working as intended but be prepared. The third thing is that Whispers of Rai'Vosh (slows your fall) failed as well, so the landing was a little hard.

I haven't read anything about this and I may go try it again just for grins, but Rogues - be prepared.

Create a macro and voila, locations easily found. Best way to do this is using stealth, and take your time, do not rush. My repair bill ws 200 gold, I learn slowly.

For those who don't have or use mods with co-ords, hopefully these descriptions of where you can find the Pentangulate-o-tron 2000s might help. This will be more helpful to those who can stealth or prowl around. There are some Radiating Apexis Shards to loot but they don't count towards the Jungle Treasure Hunter achievement, so I didn't pay much attention to where exactly they were. They do help with the Unseen Influence daily, so if you're on that, loot where safe!

1. On the southern edges of the Throne area. If you're at the rare spawn, Putre'thar, or his spawn point, you are close. Just head towards the edge of the throne zone and beware of the Infernal Devastators that patrol around. Also, another treasure, Jewel of the Fallen Star, is nearby that you can loot.

2. Instead of heading into the area where Supreme Lord Kazzak is looming and dooming, you veer off right and you can come across the dreadlord, Zekaveron. You should have come up a slope to spot him and if you missed the P2000, look behind you. It's on a bit of high ground. Zek's right hand wavers in that direction, if that helps further

3. Continue pass Zek, so heading north, there's an area where rare/spawn point, Overlord Ma'Gruth, likes to roam, you'll find a P2000 behind a tent.

4. Heading towards the eastern parts of the throne zone now -

Behind the rare/spawn point, Xanith the Everlasting, up on a bit of rock/slope is a P2000.

5. Continuing to the eastern edges of the throne zone -

Behind a dreadlord called Al'Nathris. There is also a treasure item, Censer of Torment, to loot at Al and Ralstiroth's altar. If you loot it on the far edge of the altar, you shouldn't aggro the two dreadlords. The P2000 should be visible from there.

points are a life saver and mages greater invisibility is your friend, you can get all points without getting in a fight except 59-26 so save it for last then just run to the edge and slow fall back to the bottom. No need to sneak past em all again. on a side note their agro is really small so you can get closer than usual.

There is a direct road to the Throne of Kil'jaedin that I didn't find until after I could get a direct flight at the outpost. No need to cross fel rivers or enter a city and die needlessly.

Head out the main gate of Lion's Watch or Vol'mar.
When the path reaches the stone road turn on to it. (Alliance turns left on to road, Horde turns right on to road.)
Turn right on to the wide dirt road that begins at 52.1, 52.1 (a T-junction in the center of the zone map). The dirt road is marked by giant burning logs. It's patrolled.
The road will slope upward and the sign posts become torches. To the right is a large green fel cave. Stay on the path.
Continue until you can see a green fel waterfall straight ahead. Stop. Turn right instead and follow the steep hairpin turn in the road. Follow the path upwards. At 55.7, 30.2 the words Throne of Kil' jaedin appear.

The quest can be completed solo without having Stealth, as far as i saw only 1 fight is unavoidable with a Herald of Chaos mob - but perhaps even it can be avoided with careful pathing.

Quest objects are pretty noticeable and large.

Here is a consolidated list of the Pentangulate-o-tron 2000 locations from other comments (thanks and credit to all the other posters), confirmed by flying around the area while on the quest. My coordinates were taken by dismounting and standing on the top of the object. Comments are included for reference points (mostly nearby rare mobs). This list is organized clockwise from the ground entrance to the Throne of Kil'jaeden.

53.01, 27.69	south of Felspark, west of the ground entrance
51.64, 22.55	on a ledge east and north of the approach to Supreme Lord Kazzak
52.02, 19.93	near some Felblood mobs sparring with each other west of Overlord Ma'gruth, they will not aggro on you if you are careful not to get too close
56.63, 20.64	north of and above Putre'thar
60.40, 19.69	north of Xanzith the Everlasting
63.45, 21.48	east/southeast of the spawn points for Negrizarr, Al'Nathris or Murdrimus and Ril'Morgus, Oriathis or Ralstiroth

Competely doable as a Priest, regardless of ilvl. This took maybe 15 minutes.

You need to be specced in Spectral Guise and Angelic Feather.

Basically, Spectral Guise is your "stealth" and it has a pretty forgiving CD of 30secs.

By setting a trail of 2 feathers, at least, you can cover a lot of distance. Start the first feather close in front of you and the second feather a good space towards your path. Use a 3rd if you can reach it from your spot. Once you have your trail, use Spectral Guise and follow through. Hitting the feathers will not break you out of stealth.

Some tips:

- Establish safe spots when setting up feathers to give you time. Break stealth in another safe spot or make sure it wears off at a safe spot.

-I didn't use coordinates. I found the first one easily by following the path up, and finding it near a named mob, Zekaveron. From there, I followed a path east

-I used mind vision to spot ahead. Also, if I found a sensor I would mark a mob near it so I can see from the distance.

rapidly by pressing twice, you can also drop aggro once you kite the mob to a safe spot. So if you're unsure if you will aggro, just make sure Spectral Guise is off CD before you try anything.

I only died once using this method because an inferno failed to drop aggro towards the last sensor. But looting all my sensors did not pull any mobs.

This was fun. I died over and over (mage with no gear). So it broke my bank, I had fun figuring out where to run and hide to avoid dying for a bit. Yes, water elemental sacrificed herself for me. Not easy. Good video though.

All of the Pentangulate-o-trons I found, as well as all of the treasures I found up there, had a place where you could stand outside aggro range, so this was really, really easy with stealth.

Description

<Sir/Ma'am>, we built a vehicle to bypass the Horde camp and take you to the Throne of Kil'jaeden! There's one problem, the concentrated fel energy up there is causing the navigation system to go haywire! I'll need you to place some sensors along the edge of the summit. With them in place we can stabilize the flight controls. Just be sure to have some friends with you, the demons up there look especially vicious!
