They seriously need to drop this prequest to the escort. Someone always starts stage two before the entire group turns this in, and the escort stage will not share.

This is the only quest I know of that is a useless prequest to an escort quest. It's just confusing. Ever since I've seen this quest I just assumed it was an escort quest that only one person is allowed to do at a time. -.-

It's really remarkable. They even remade this quest for Cataclysm (there are two by this name, the other marked obsolete and non-obtainable). Yet when they remade it, I guess they found it still necessary to hand in this useless quest first.

Make sure to inform your group about how to do this beforehand and to wait for all to hand in first one. If you're lucky, they might listen.

To make it clear....

This is a two-quest chain. EVERYONE must complete the first quest before ANYONE accepts the second quest.. If not, some people will miss out on the second quest in the chain.

If you wish to complete the chain, this is the right way to do it:

Enter dungeon.
Pick up (the other) dungeon quests.
Head NORTH, away from Amnennar. If you kill him early, the dungeon will be complete, then people will leave, then it will be impossible to complete this quest.
Clear out the entire north side of the dungeon. This is the escort route. Tuten'kash (gong spider boss) is optional at this time.
When you get near the questgiver and pull the last trash pack, run to the questgiver.
Before the last trash pack dies, right-click on the questgiver's fence/cage to break it.
Before the last trash pack dies, take (accept) the first quest. Do it quickly, or someone click-happy will ruin it.
Before the last trash pack dies (again), COMPLETE THE FIRST QUEST. It is very important to do this before the "gogogogogogo!" click-happy guy in your group gets there. So, complete it quickly but don't accept the followup quest.
Now WAIT until everyone in the group completes the first quest in the chain
Once everyone has accepted and completed the first quest, ACCEPT the second quest in the chain. This makes the questgiver run off and start the action. Note that the click-happy guy is going to do this for you anyway, at which point you'll get a pop-up window that gives you the escort quest. Accept it.
Follow the questgiver.
Kill a bunch of trash.
Kill a boss.
Complete second quest.

Any comments on the turn in of the quest? Do I need to turn in the quest immediately after finishing the escorting, or is there some place where I could actually go to turn it in? The dragon wasn't at the starting place when I checked it out, and didn't see him at the altar either.

Outstanding! My name is Belnistrasz, and I thank you for rescuing me. I had given myself up for dead... or worse, as a meal for these Scourge-infested vermin.

Listen... rather than just flee, I want to make a difference for all of our sakes. Would you be up to helping me out to that end? It's probably dangerous, but somebody needs to do it and I seriously doubt other adventurers will wander into this desolate place.
