The dragon isn't a very high lvl, but he did 300 hits on my lvl 60 mage, and he can't be slowed or snared. A very hard fight for some classes. I suggest having a good amount of consumables with you if you are going to solo him, but he could be easily two-manned.

just killed him as 56 warlock.. kind of unexpectadly hard.

Cant be Feared or Deathcoiled, IMMUNE to fire spells.

He casts Renew on himself which heals him for about 10% or so.

Hits hard, had to use Healthstone, Lifestone, HP pot.

Soloed this guy with my 42 Hunter Today on Rivendare =)

I kited him around got him to 50%ish then he renewed and it was gonna take forever so I took him to TM where the guards dispatched him, and I looted him =)

Did him as a 53 druid.
The trick it to run away when he starts casting his flame breath, the range is very small, and you can even get off a quick heal while he catches up with you.

I've seen this dragon spawn mostly just in the area of Chillwind Point, but I've seen him floating around Dalaran before, immediately to the southeast of the pink bubble, and northeast of the Internment camp. He'll also path through the valley north of the ruins of Alterac, where all the Syndicate camps are.

Kind of a nasty surprise for my level 36 priest returning from Scarlet Monastery.

If you connect the dots on the map above, he seems to follow a circular path around Alterac. If so, then based on the direction I saw him moving in, it would be a clockwise direction.

I soloed him on my 49 druid, but it was quite difficult. I'm balance speced, but I had to go bear form to withstand his melee attacks. I resisted 50%-75% of his flame breath attacks, but the ones that I didn't hit hard. I had fire resist gear, but wasn't wearing it at the time. My wolfshead helm and the armor from my cape may have been what kept me alive.

At 50% and below, this guy casts Renew on himself over and over. The key is to do more damage during the duration of his spell than it heals. It was a slow process though. Over the course of the fight, I Innervated twice, used two potions, used Frenzied Regeneration 3 or 4 times, and popped my Arena Grand Master. Using Enrage helped bring him down, but I think that's best saved for when he's casting, since the armor debuff won't be as harmful at that time.

Also beware that he is immune to snare effects (as stated above) and to Stun and Sleep mechanics (can't hibernate this dragon).

Druid 44 with 2800 mana soloed this dragon by kiting it to Tarren Mill using moonfire and cheetah, innervate once and a mana pot. It dropped some cloth chest with frost spell damage.

It cannot be snared but it stops to cast fire breath, so you can take some advantage of that and run out of the area of effect.

I forgot to take a screen shot. I wanted to take one with our party all dead on the ground. Well, me a Level 40 Warrior, a Lvl 40 Ret Pally, and a Lvl 46 Druid took it down on the second attempt. We tried tanking him with me in sword and shield. But the fire damage of the beast is pretty intense, ignoring armor of course. So me and the druid just went all out dps on our second attempt while the pally heals us and thanks to some high crits, we took him down.

Dropped a lvl 39 mail helm (199 armor, +12 agi, +12 sta) - green item of which i took to the AH. FYI, the dragon has over 11k of HP...something to know before you try to solo it.

One more thing, we spotted the dragon going south of the river to the west then flying back north along the coast and back down doing circles along the river. As one of the screenshots persist, it's your best bet to find him.

Kited from Dalaran with myself (32 hunter) and my brother (37 priest) to Tarren Mill and had the Deathguards kill him, was a lot of fun although scary not having Concussive Shot or any of my traps available.

This particular rare spawn elite is not your ordinary elite. He is much harder than his level seems to indicate, and as someone who plays far more WoW than is healthy, I have a lot of other mobs to base this claim on. So to put this in perspective, he has double the health of your typical ogre in Nagrand in the Outlands, level 68. In fact, he has 15% less HP than a level 68 elite Mountain Gronn in Nagrand. He also hits a lot harder than his level would seem to indicate. He does damage roughly on par with a level 60 non-elite mob. So while a normal level 44 elite mob would be cake for someone around that level, this dude is not. I'd suggest if you're planning on soloing him to be at least level 50 and well geared, or have mediocre gear and be level 55. Don't be fooled by the level 44 tag! And as a side note, the half dozen or so times I've seen him he has been hanging out on the road between Chillwind Point and Strahnbrad, so I'd say he's more likely to be found there despite how far he does pat around the zone. Melee classes that are badly geared and plan on soloing him solo beware, I saw Narillasanz going North and South accross the big river and some mistakes I made that could help you to defeat this are:

A) I didn't have any potions with me of any kind except some Fish Liver Oil from an old quest.

B) Playing a Warrior, I should have Pummeled or Shield Bashed it to interrupt the Fire Breath because it hits for about 200-400. It would have been useful to actually use a shield with a 1-handed and then switch back to your normal(That is if you don't usually use shields) when it starts casting renew on itself.

C) Try and be well geared, personally I was very badly geared which meant I had to either pull it all the way to some town like others did, or just find a group to kill it with.

D)You'll definately need to pop some cooldowns if you intend on soloing this. If you really want to solo it without the pull-to-a-town technique then you should try at level 47+.

I decided to follow this dragon to see if anyone would attack it. A level 53 shaman took it on, and I provided some heals and backup damage (I'm also a shaman). I found that at level 40, I couldn't interrupt Narillasanz with my earth shocks. He took the damage, but kept casting. I never pulled aggro off the 53, but he ended up with almost no health at the end. According to the 53, who tagged it, he dropped a Regal Robe of Stamina.
IHMO, not worth the trouble.

I met this dragon while killing these syndicates, when i suddenly saw a big dragon behind me, i was like WTF? he one hitted me when i had around 40% health, 443 did he hit, i was lvl 35 Druid that time, i called for a friend kill it, but when i died I didnt find him xD

so i checked wowhead to see where he goes, so i found him around chillwind point, called for a 60 gnome rouge who killed him, but it was a close match! this mob is REALLY good for his lvl, u need atleast lvl 55 to solo!

he dropped a mail top good for warriors, sold it on Ah 15g.

anyways have fun hunting him =)

I tried sole him with my 43 gnome mage.. I had killed some elites 2 - 3 lvl higher than myself, so i thougth i could kill this one too, But he was a way too strong.. I last about 1 min against him, and he went down to 88% HP :S:S

Enhance shamans are fine solo'ing this guy. just drop your STR, Fire Resist, Grace totem down and start going balistic on him. Dont forget to use shamanistic rage for that dmg reduction and mana regen. when you hit 50% just heal and when he only heals himself with a renew. just purge it and continue.

You will resist half the stuff he dishes out at you and his melee hits are slow so your heals will make it fine.
OH and dont be stupid like me .. use Blood Fury in the beginnning ... if you use it later you will be screwed on heals. (orcs only)

Easy fight imo for a shammy at least but then again ... i was 53.

dont let his lvl 44 elite status fool you this guy is not easy to solo and i have only seen his twice since i have been playing my lvl 63 pali did the job but i have killed higher elites much more easlily than this guy. So if you do find him use caution specially if your under lvl 50. in my opinion the risk for this npc isnt worth the reward it should atleast drop rare loot for the challenge that this npc presents

also another note if you do find him he doesnt move very fast i flew over him coming back from blasted lands to undercity and managed to fly to hillsbrad and get on my mount and go up the river from the bridge and found him not to far from where i flew over him

Yep, I soloed this on my lvl 50 shammy tonight and she gave me quite a hard time. Used up a mana pot and put SoE, GoA and Fire resi totems. Just came across her and thought I would give it a try, not knowing what I got into I was surprised by the amount of dmg and hp.

for anyone not wantin to spent the hours searchin for him that I did, you can hear him if ur close by, his wings make it sound like ur on a windrider! course dats only gonna help of ur only just outta sight. He does run a clockwise route throught most of the entire zone though.

I found him around 76, 45 tonight and soloed him with my frost specced level 65 Mage. When I initially saw him on my flight over, he was heading south towards Tarren Mill. On returning from an errand to the Arathi Highlands, he was loitering in the turnoff for Strahnbrad.

He is easily killable post 60 despite being immune to snares. He dropped a nice pair of twink level 38 Ranger Leggings of the Monkey for me.

Wasn't a pretty sight when me and my friend were questing in Hillsbrad and this guy showed up. We were about lvl 30 both of us. We called for help and a lvl 45 warrior couldn't bring him down. So eventually we just ignored him and he left back up into Alterac. Morale: Don't mess with lvl 44 rare elites at lvl 30

I was going to quest in WPL when i saw this dragon and went like, '' oh, a challenge ! ''.
Downed this dragon at the third attempt and it dropped random greens as the loot table says it does.

First i used the water elemental, cold snap, water elemental, icy veins and Frost Barrier when i caught aggro.

I was level 53 at the moment.

if you are trying to kill Narillasanz you should be in a higher lvl than him because he has 12k hp.
but you can try to get him near tarren mill if you are horde, then the guards will kill him.

I solo'd him at 44, human warlock. I let my VW take him on, DoT'd him once in a while, health funneled to my VW, when my health got low, I used my Healthstone, then bandages every once in a while, and drained his mana for my own, and also used Life Tap for mana. Never drew aggro away from the VW, and final move (when he had less than 500 hp) was Drain Soul. He dropped 10 silver, some random green, and a forked tongue. It was not that long of a battle, actually.

PS, he is immune to Curse of Tongues, but not Curse of Agony.

Soloed this as a 45 hunter, spec was 19/14/3 weird spec at level 45 i know but w/e
pretty easy actually
popped immolation trap, while my pet was fighting him
used aim shot for his renew other than that just shot him, pulled aggro once, feign death and he was back on my pet

This dragon is actually pretty tough for it's level. I tried soloing it as a 50 balanced hunter, but failed many times. With it being so rare, i didnt want to lose it. When I got so fustrated, i decided to share the loot and invite a 50 warrior. We won, but the warrior died, and I finished it off... And, of course, the warrior took the loot... But a very good fight, and pretty rare.

Here is some hints for soloing this monster... (lvl 45-50 players)

Take some potions with you, like mana and health
If your a pally, keep your mana up for heals
If you REALLY want the loot, dont post it over the general chat, players will try to steal it
If you are a hunter, turn on dragonkin tracking so you dont lose it
Clear all other monsters out of the area! Even if they are ten levels below you, they can be a real pain!
Once you do defeat this dragon, take a good screenshot so you can remember the moment, you might not see this monster again.. :P

For grouping, heres some hints... (lvl 45-50's)

Try to get a healer, especially if you are a hunter or warrior
DO NOT INVITE ANYONE UNDER LEVEL 45, they will only be a nuisence because they'll keep dying (except if they heal)
Keep your partner alive, and dont invite too many over 2 people, because it would be a pain if there is very good loot.

Found this level 44 rare elite at coords. 73.2, 58.1 (Alterac Mountains near Chillwind Point)

He does put up quite a fight, so make sure your high enough to take him and to bring some people with you if your close to his level

Really, a hard fight even for a 53 enhancement shaman of mediocre gear. I lie, he's more bursty than I expected though. I say this because I really really didn't expect him to crit me for 718 and that brought me down to 300 health for I wasn't healing myself at the time.

He strikes me as odd, the red dragonflight don't usually go against mortals. Oh well, he must be a rogue for Alex would be mad at him, quite mad.

Found him & Stone Fury at the same time. I thought no biggie, that he'd be easy enough to solo on my 45 Rogue. Most rares are cake, but not this guy! He was immune to most my attacks & was able to effectively 3 shot me before I could get him down to 90%. Fortunately, there was a 58 Death Knight who kindly helped me kill him.

This dargon is a joke. As paladin this fight was nothing but a big bunch Whoop ass for the dragon. eventhough i might be 55 and in full blues and two Herilooms, i would still have kicked its ass without the regular gear. Yea, it does hit for 200-250, and does some fire attacks, but no worries. i dident have to heal a single time ( Not even with Flash heals from "art of war" proc ). at the time He/she was dead, i was at 60% health ( with total amount of 3,7 k health ) . So, If you see this dragon and you are anywhere near 52+ go kill this badboy. For me he/she dropped a cloth chest with 23 frost spellpower.

Was farming turtles when I noticed him across the river. I didn't take time to check his HP, just his level, and jumped him. As a level 57 rogue, I used one Super Healing Potion (though in hindsight a Major would have sufficed). He was only slightly more difficult than I expected, and for a rare elite, his drop was blec. 13 silver and a green.

Level 51 Frost mage. Died 3 times trying to kill him. Came within about 100hp (on him). Used Water Elemental to distract him, he popped my Ice Barrier twice, then I went for Cold Snap and my Water Elemental pulled him again for a moment while I healthed up. He killed my WE, then came back for me. Got him down to about 1000hp, popped Gift of the Naaru, then Ice Blocked, then hit him once more before he got me.

I will have my revenge!

As a lv 54 frost mage he was very easy. just used fireward when he breathed. used water elemental to start off fight then popped icyveins and wore him out. tobad he doesnt have any rare gear or patts.

i just killed it today
was a hard fight with my 52 mage frost specc he had my mininion down in a short time but i managed to kill him after using all my cd (evocation,waterelemental,etc.)

he dropped a nice green plate leggs.
but he hit extremely hard for a 43mob 300 ore something and i was nearly QQ when he did cast renew because he got 4k hp left of the 12 and was trough all my cd. the fire attack wasn't thatm uch of a broblem because i had fire ward

base tact's is do dmg till he starts to cast fire breath he can turn but not move so you can run away from him and stunn, fear, snar don't work on him and try to if your a mage counterspell his renew it should make your battle a little bit easyer.

This guy was pretty hard to kill with my level 51 Holy paladin. I suggest having some potions available during this fight. I died two times doing this and then came up with an idea. I put on Seal of Wisdom so that I could get back mana while I was fighting him. Turned out to be a lot easier since my main problem was running out of mana. He is immune to stunning spells.

Just soloed him as a level 50 Enhancement shaman. Simple fight really aside from the fact that he's immune to fire damage and roots. Make sure you heal yourself constantly as he was hitting me for approximately 900 damage each time. I made the mistake of assuming he would be easy for his level (with cooldowns he was) but if I had seen most of the posts here I probably would've discouraged myself from trying. He was actually spawned ON the shammy quest NPC (Bath'rah the Windwatcher) for me. Took me about 35 seconds. But that's because I'm geared to hit like a freight train.... Sadly, all he dropped was a lame green cloak which is of no use and easily replaced with the random dungeons. Disappointing loot table as well for the challenge he puts up.
If you find him. Good luck and bring a pot just in case!

Edit: Forgot to say that he cast renew on himself at about 10%. The HoT didn't seem to do much, but then again when I noticed it I just purged it.

Found him along the river just north of Tarren Mill. As a level 37 warlock I knew I had no chance against him so I followed him while waiting for an 80 hunter to arrive. He flew a clockwise route going south along the river then around to the road leading to Western Plaguelands and back down the river. The hunter had little problem killing him, but said he was unable to tame him, getting "invalid target" when he tried. Before the hunter got there I got a bit too close and aggro'd the elite but was able to get away on my mount, but he did hit me once for around 385.

Fairly easily soloable as an equal-level hunter by using Aspect of the Cheetah and simply kiting him. Unless you make some mistake, you can kite him indefinitely, while you and your pet can kill him slowly.

Soloed as lvl 51 Arms warrior (draenei). Narillasanz have 12k hp.I consumed greater agility and intellect potion and pop Gift of Naaru once.His Flame Breath cause 400 fire damage and CAN'T be interrupted by any means.As a warrior it is quite dangerous so I use defensive stance and abilities from that stance. It is an easy kill although it's loot is unattractive.My hp never goes down from 1300hp.

soloed as 52 sub rogue, just use deadly / instant poison on your weapons, start with a premed, garrote, hemo, rupture, pop evasion, continue hemo spamming and use shadowstep>evis

if needed: when he casts, sprint away a bit, first aid, get your energy up, and go back in and finish him

Basically dotted and kited him around heaps I had the arathi basin PvP boots so they're handy also keep mana potions ready there also handy pretty easy fight. Also dispel magic is good when he renew's =D

Solo'd on my 35 hunter. Just remember to keep up Aspect of the Cheetah. Bit harder now we have to use focus. Kept having to stop and Steady Shot or it would take forever. He dropped Tracker's Leggings of the Monkey.

Did it just before a server shutdown and only just had time to loot before it went offline. Doesn't seem worth it for the trouble but Azeroth rares rarely do.

Apparently Narillasanz was removed because the red dragons are our allies against Deathwing(I asked a GM).

First of all:
I thought we had always been allied with the red dragons, more or less?

Second:
I thought Narillasanz were hostile because, as it says on the wowwiki page that was linked somewhere in these comments, Blackrock orcs enslaved a small number of red dragons - and he was one of them.

Saw this on my level 31 hunter a while back (bout 4 years), had a couple of screenshots but old computer died so can't post. I stalked him for a while until aggroing a starving mountain lion. Never seen him since. Probably removed after alterac mountains and hillsbrad got merged in Cata.
