As this rare corrupted hippogryph pet has the title of "Elisande's Pet", after patch 7.2 dropped I attempted to glide into Elisande'a secret quarters in the outdoor version of the Nighthold Palace. Unfortunately, all of the palace doors on the main tower are closed in the non raid version, so it appears that this pet is not located in her room as I first suspected. I guess we'll have to keep looking for this elusive companion.

UPDATE: Today I unlocked flying and immediately did a flyover of the entire outdoor NH raid with track beasts activated and found nothing. I also surveyed High Botanist's terrace and it wasn't there either (and I almost died in the process, the mobs there don't play around). So it is not in the outdoor Nighthold.

UPDATE 2: LALATHIN HAS BEEN FOUND! Thanks to the Secret Hunters Discord, Lalathin has been found to be in a mana cage inside of Elisande's secret quarters (inside the raid) only when the world quest to defeat her concubines is up. This unfortunately means that Hunters will have to wait not only for the final week of the legionfall campaign to be able to tame hippogryphs, but they'll then have to wait for the Nighthold World Quest rotation to cycle back to the Secret Quarter World Quest.

I really wish this pet was up at all times so Hunters could go and claim their new hippogryph immediately, but I'm glad we at least know where she is. It'll be a long ~2-3 months, but I still think it will be worth the wait.

Lets think about it from a standpoint of where the other ones were. This pet will likely be in suramar, somewhere where you can reach it without extreme difficulty or need for flying. and some place that has direct relationship with Ellisande.

Maybe in COS? I think last boss she got a open a portal to teleport back to somewhere. Maybe can click the portal and teleport to that somewhere she is going?

I found Lalathin in Elisande secret chambers during World Quest: The Nighthold: Love Tap . But we can't tame him at moment because we need a Tome of the Hybrid Beast.

So, basicly thats all I've gotten about Lalathin so far.
1) Neutral mob with 135937 hp and 5253-7881 damage on any NH difficulty (can be easely one-shotted with any AoE ability)
2) Can be aggroed and not killed with macro
/stopattack
/cast concussive shot
/stopattack
or
/stopattack
/cast counter shot
/stopattack
3) Can be CC'ed with frozen trap
4) Will be available only during The Nighthold: Love Tap WQ
5) Could be tamed after learning tome of Hybrid Beasts (captain Obvious's there)
6) WILL respawn after soft reset, but you should be in raid group to enter instance and adds will respawn as well. I was able to kill some adds before kiting her in duo party.

Can be solo tamed in the Nighthold if you have unlocked the portal to Elisande by defeating her four times. As mentioned by others the Love Tap world quest needs to be up in order to access the chamber.

What I did:
- Joined a random raid group in LFG that had autoinvite on
- Went Surv first to stealth past the withered and scorpions to the portal
- Went back BM and teleported to Elisande's secret quarters (I went BM for added survivability during the tame from Mimiron's Shell)
- Used an invis potion to make it across the room to the cage
- You do not have to click the cage or otherwise do anything but target Lalathin and cast turtle + tame as soon as the invis wears off
- You will die as soon as the tame is up and turtle wears off, nothing you can do about that but release and enjoy your new pet!

If you're really unsure/unlucky then bring drums but I didn't find it necessary, the tame ended just before the shell came off.

Lalathin is a very noisy pet and vocalizes constantly, every few seconds or so. Unsure if this will be hotfixed in the future or not, but be aware of it if you get annoyed by sounds.

I was able to tame this pet today in a Heroic NH solo. If you find yourself in a pug group that doesn't do the world quest (like what happened to me), you can still tame it.
Just go into survival spec, put on Camouflage, stand beside the pet and cast Aspect of the turtle then start taming. You take a lot of damage but you have just enough time to tame it.

As a side note: this pet is super noisy. It makes an obnoxious noise every 1-7 seconds. (Depending on how vocal he wants to be i suppose)

Solo'd this today on normal difficulty. Used Marksmanship spec and Camoflaged through all the adds to the first teleport orb. Used Camoflage again to get to Lalathin and then turtled and tamed. Very easy.

Only issue I have with him (other than the noise mentioned by others) is that he doesn't seem to want to land. He flies constantly. If he could run on the ground like the other feathermanes I'd love him a lot more.

While this pet is very unique in the game world and I would really like to use it: Its unusable becouse of the constant spaming of its "roar" sound, while in a raid the negative feedback and whining to take the pet away is overwhelming...

So basically its just another of the classic Blizzard tease: "Here - have something nice, but you cant use it!"

In my experience the easiest way to tame this feathermane is this.

1. Have the World Quest active, it doesn't matter if you completed it.
2. Join a normal/heroic group running Nighthold, most people are still working on their Balance of Power quests so getting a group while that WQ is active wont be a big issue.
3. Clear the raid, so kill all bosses that cause trash to spawn, specifically you want Spellblade Aluriel dead at least.
4. Either stay in the raid or if you get removed make a private group finder entry and convert to raid.
5. Enter The Nighthold, if all previous steps were taken you should spawn at the main gate right before the central fountain area (where Spellblade patrols) and there should be no trash around.
6. Teleport up to the Secret Chambers. If you cleared this room for the WQ before wait for it to respawn, softreset if you need.
7. If you see the WQ enemies alive, switch specc to Survival with Camouflage talent active.
8. Use camouflage to stealth past the mobs and position yourself behind the cage where Lalathin is held.
9. Select Lalathin, use Aspect of the Turtle and start taming lalathin immediately.

You should survive the onslaught of the adds long enough to complete your taming process and acquire Lalathin.

This pet has less than 300 health. If you activate the cage when hostile mobs are around it is very likely you will kill this by accident. I strongly advise waiting for the room to be cleared before activating the cage, and making sure your group understands not to attack it in any way

As of 8.0 this mob is currently bugged due to it scaling with the player's level. I tried several attempts at different levels between 110-120 and only when I reached 120 did it allow me to make the tame. Every other attempt where it appeared at equal level according to my UI, stated that the mob was too high level to be tamed.

Submitted a bug report and ate up about an hour of a GM's time trying to get it figured out.

Too bad it's a flappy pet - can't stand flappy pets. I had to work hard to find hippogryphs that don't flap when they're idle.

Got confirmation via support ticket that Nighthold WQ are currently disabled and there is no way of taming Lalathin at the moment.

A hotfix released on Jan 29 2020 has moved Lalathin outside of Suramar City, making her tameable once again.

As of right now in 8.3 as a Horde hunter with the Suramar questline completed, I found her just outside the room she used to spawn in, flying around on the floor of the balcony.

Coords for the little balcony he's flapping around on are 62.57, 86.77. Couldn't see him on my alliance hunter that didn't have the mask, could see it on my NIghtborne hunter. Will check again on another alliance that has the mask.

Tamed her at 12:43 am est on an Alliance hunter. Note, she was not the standard hippogryph size when I saw her. She was the size of a critter. I don't know if that was a bug on my end or supposed to be like that, but take that into account.

Full info gathered from other replies: As of 8.3 this is now tameable in Suramar City on a high covered balcony on the side of the large building around 62.57, 86.77. He may or may not be phased locked to the Suramar completion and is the size of a battle pet. Hunter tracking will bring him up as a neutral dot. At the time of this post the pet is quite large, does not land, and as a Zand hunter the wing animation slaps me in the face every time.

Accidentally killed Lalathin (sadface), so I sat and timed the respawn. She was back up in 5 minutes.

If you don't have Broken Isle flying, and you're having trouble getting into the non-instanced version of the Nighthold, you can glide to the balcony at 62.57, 86.77 using a Goblin Glider Kit if you jump from the south-east corner of Dalaran (flight-master area).

Just seen and killed in the uninstanced version of Nighthold. No world quest up seemingly. Didn't realize it was tamable so whoops. Was at the balcony at 62.5, 86.8.
