All of this idiocy they're spouting about Reforging is so disingenuous that it's absurd. Here's how you fix reforging and the issue of "bad" gear at once:
The game needs more gold sinks than transmogging and one time spending on overprice mounts. Reforging would provide that service.
That sound like the worst, more consumables, why. If there cheap than at that point make them permeant. and the problem that they said was not how to reforge but the act of having it in the game.
Reforging felt bad originally because you had to mess with every item to meet the 15% Hit cap (and whatever the other stat was that had to be at 15%). Also, pretty sure haste checkpoints were still a thing then. Hit is gone now and haste scales smoothly, so reforging is much simplified! No more plugging stuff into Mr. Robot just to know how to adjust all your items.
Honestly, the questions sucked. I see nothing but side stepping by blizz in almost every question. They are all just wait and see, we are going to wait for feedback(yeah right like you ever use it) and the rest is all the same Blah, Blah Blah."Reforging felt bad originally because you had to mess with every item to meet the 15% Hit cap (and whatever the other stat was that had to be at 15%). Also, pretty sure haste checkpoints were still a thing then. Hit is gone now and haste scales smoothly,"There are STILL haste checkpoints, haste is NOT scaling smoothly, see BM hunters! I am also seeing crit checkpoints also. So checkpoints STILL exist in the game.
Spewing more garbage about how reforging is bad, questioning if an upgrade is an actual upgrade. Rather question it than immediately knowing its useless...
I love how Blizzard went from "reforging is a way that any higher ilvl gear could be an upgrade on stats with a reforge" to "reforging muddies the idea of an upgrade." I mean, let's be honest: they want you to grind content to put together the right gear to hit your spec's stat breakpoints, and reforging removes that. But don't tell me in 2010 that reforging makes anything an upgrade and then to turn around and say a few years later the opposite thing. It's annoying.
Do secondary stats add depth to gameplay? Spec builds tend to favor one stat, in the past there used to be alternate builds with different stats."Blizzard feels that the community has gotten better at evaluating stats, with more precise information. So when the community says that a build with one stat is best, it's backed up with precise research, and people gravitate towards that one build instead of speculating that builds with other stats are better."well when you make some stats so bad for certain specs (like destro's mastery rng) ofc peopel will value a stat more.
"Reforging is a way to give players more decision-making, but has drawbacks - it muddies the idea of an upgrade, and reforging one item led to sweeping changes for all items you had equipped.""Good reminder that there are various stat caps and users should calculate their own stat weights - for example, haste might be amazing for one player with a certain gear set up, and bad for another player. So it's useful when Blizzard includes gear options for different secondary stats to account for different player situations."So.. instead of reforging and the "sweeping changes", having to simcraft all the time instead is preferable. Gotcha. I remember when they used the reason of reforging requiring external sites/complex calculations. IMHO simcraft is way more off putting to people that something like AMR used to be.
I'm sorry.. but did he answer ANY questions? Seems like nearly each of them was just lacking a real response.
