Join us live on Twitch Thursday, February 23, as we sit down with Game Director Ion Hazzikostas for our next live developer Q&A. He’ll be answering your World of Warcraft: Legion questions.
Feel free to submit questions by posting in this forum thread or via Twitter using the hashtag #LegionQA.
We’re really looking forward to getting the chance to dive in and answer as much as we can, so we hope to see you Thursday at 11:00 a.m. PST!
Looking forward to the questions being brought into the Q&A.
Yup same here very curious whats being talked about this time
You can shut your damn dirty mouth if you think you deserve all of the skins for your weapon! -Q&A
I wouldn't be so annoyed about Balance of Power if it wasn't time limited. They've already said that we'll only unlock transmogs if we earned the skins during Legion. This means if you play one character during Legion, and then decide to play another next expansion, you're screwed out of ALL the weapon transmogs Legion had to offer. So it becomes a "we know you're an adult with a job and a real life, but you'll need to level 12 characters to 110, get them geared up enough to get in to normal EN PUGs (because we know your guild isn't going to run an old raid for all your alts), and grind it out until you have whatever items are necessary."Furthermore, I'd be less annoyed about Balance of Power if they would say SOME of the skins can be converted to transmogs if you unlock them on a character after Legion (e.g. the basic skin and its tints, the "upgraded" basic skin and its tints, and the base PVP one (maybe not tints?)). Hidden skins would be nice if they lowered the rates on getting them similar to how they do with final raid boss mounts. Gives you something to go back and grind for (which, let's be honest...we all say we hate grinds, but we seem to LOVE having something cosmetic to go back and grind for).
I think he (Ion) hit the mark with his comments about world quests being "meh", but if we saw an 875 item or 3000g we would actually go out of our way to complete that WQ.Right now... nearly everything on the entire MAP is crap unless it's like 100k AP or something close and it's been crap after you passed 840 iLevel. This week TWO world bosses have 777 gold (Why waste the time).
Always nice to see Ion's face. Good to remind myself just who exactly made WoD and then started shoving diablo into every aspect of the game. I look forward to the end of Legion so we can have the "Things we ruined in legion" video like they did after WoD but then never actually fix those issues. Ion was the worst thing to happen to WoW since Xelnath was fired.
That is why I'm in no rush to complete WQ dailies and instead just do ones that involve the most mundane of tasks. Gather the herb, kill animal for bacon, or kill a rare. I can surely wait a little longer to receive my ilvl 835 crystal.
I always enjoy Ion's Q & A appearances. This time in particular I found all of the questions were relevant and interesting to a majority of the player base, and he did his best to provide solid answers. Kudos to the Blizzard team, I'm looking forward to patch 7.2!
Not making the appearances account wide, or at LEAST not setting it up so that balance of power isn't required to get the other unlocks from that row kind of shows blizzard being very wishy-washy about what is and isn't about "Player choice". The big thing they've said this expansion is "We want to give you options on how to play and progress". And that would make sense if the rest of that row was unlocked and wasn't reliant on the Balance of Power quest line. You can complete a mythic 15 or glory of the legion hero without rolling through the nighold and that's a very real path of progression for some people. And if you do those achievements you should get access to that color on that row. To not allow that flies in the face of what Blizz has said about being able to play how you want to.I suspect the reason they're not making it account wide is so they can continue to have a reason to get people to run older content as not everyone is up-to-speed on this quest line. If they unlocked the row (based on your other achievements) or made it account wide I think most people wouldn't go back and do emerald nightmare or anything else. They're just obfuscating the fact that they designed it this way to get people to keep cycling through content. Thing is, I wish they'd just SAY that. Even if people didn't like it. Just be honest. And removing it after legion makes NO sense. I don't know what the devs' issue is these days with removing things from the game, but it's pretty short-sighted at best, and downright antagonistic towards the playerbase at worst. It's always fun to go back and farm old content for transmog items. Why take this away?
"Q: Some WQ do not feel worth it... Have you considered different rewards?" - Ion: "nobody really cares about the amounts or rewards"lol wow... I care, thats how I decide if its worth my time doing particular WQ or not. 300g to kill a rare - lets go. 70g for doing fiddly things - no thanksalso when they are discussing AP"Blizzard doesn't want AP to be something to seek out as the primary reward" This response just left me scratching my head. Theyve built a reward structure around collecting then spending AP on your weapon (ie more spent = more powerful), yet they dont want players seeking out AP as the primary reward
