I dislike the potential PvP aspect. To many people sctivate PvP, then trigger PvP when an AoE is used. Happens to many times. Get rid of Cross-Realm. An easier thing is to reduce the number of severs!
Personally, I hate the CRZ aspect of the game. Where I used to be able to enjoy questing and going through rep grinds, I now have to fight people from twenty-two different servers (yes, I counted) to just get the required items or kills for turn-ins. I don't want to be forced/required to group with people from different servers just to be able to complete tasks. I do this for dungeons by choice, but to make it seemingly impossible to get anything done for the sheer amount of people camping and farming mobs (for their own quests, professions, etc.), is just infuriating. It took three times longer to get rep with a faction after CRZ's were implemented. I don't want to pay for a game that's making "playing" more like work, but unfortunately, it looks like that's where Blizz wants the game to go and the subscribers don't seem to have a say in the matter.
The many problem i have with CRZ is this. I level my professions as i level my toon but i cant do that as every time i try to level say my mining i find bots i could handle one or two on my server but when u see like 8 or 9 of them land at the same node that's bad. Blizzard does not even do anything about the reporting of bots so it pointless. the CRZ need to go away the only thing that should remain is group with your realid and battletag friends. The other point of the PvP server so because i like to have pvp it should not make it that i have to level on a non pvp server just so i can level my toon. I can handle having one or two higher level toons attack me. It happens but when you cant even go to zones ie hellfire that just stupid makes the game not fun at all. The other point of well do LFD that's fine and all but that does not level you faster then questing does.
CRZ is great in theory (and being able to invite friends from other realms is awesome), but it works out poorly in practice because of the way the game is designed. Since you have to be the first one to tap a mob to get loot and kill credit, it only turns into an annoying competition that promotes anti-social behaviour. We've been ignoring these issues for many years now (at least on the small to medium servers) but with CRZ "fixing" that they have started to become appearant again. It just isn't fun to be camped by a group of 90s from some other realm for hours while leveling. I had to boost my friend through instances recently just because it was impossible to get anything done at all in Hellfire Peninsula. Then there is the resource node issue. I myself play on a low population server and since CRZ it is extremely time consuming to level a profession from scratch. We don't have low level materials on our auction house, so the only option is farming it yourself. I don't mind some competition (especially if I can go ahead and buy it from them later), but when you are competing with people from other servers it becomes old really quickly. And good luck gathering on a low level character. For me, the pretty minor issues CRZ tries to solve (world "feeling empty") don't outweigh the issues it creates. I could maybe get behind it if they implemented the new quest mob tapping feature we have for specific quest "boss" mobs to all mobs. Something needs to be done to discourage high levels from ganking low level players as well.
CRZ is the most stupid thing Blizzard ever came up with. I mean just look how many people there is from different realms camping 1 Time-Lost Proto Drake. Lucky me i got it like 5 days before CRZ but it's litteraly impossible to kill rares unless you are extremely lucky. And no it's not making it easier to level. I always get ganked when i'm leveling and there's too many people doing the same quests at the same time so it actually just slows down the leveling.
"It’s a complex feature, and there are still some technical issues that we’re continuing to work to address.""Some technical issues"? That's like saying you only have a "little bit of cancer" CRZ either wasn't tested very well before implementation, or the powers that be just didn't care that it doesn't work and put it in game anyway. Either way, its pretty sad.
It's a mmo. After suffering Cata with empty zone after empty zone, I don't want to go back to that.If you can't stand the heat on pvp servers then get off them.CRZ is the best thing that Blizzard have done in years.
Blizzard has, in fact, gone to great efforts to remove multiplayer from the questing experience and turn it into a kind of content that appeals to people who just want to treat the game like any normal RPG. They are the ones who removed group quests from the game; not us. They're responsible for making questing a solo affair. It's not that I'm being antisocial for not going out of my way to group with everyone I see. It's just the way it's set up. Now more than ever before. Group content is its own thing: it's raiding, scenarios, dungeons, and battlegrounds. But now they came up with cross-realm zones: a way to populate the world and get people to interact. Well, that would be great for a game that was designed to be tackled by a group, but despite what you all might think, this isn't that kind of game anymore (if it ever was). Quests are all designed to be accomplished by one person alone, so having all these other people running around doesn't actually work. At its absolute best, you and the other players will be like two ships passing in the night; each doing your own thing and managing to not negatively impact the other's experience. But most of the time, it just creates an unnecessary and un-enjoyable strain on resources and quest items. Half the time, grouping up won't even help; a number of quest objectives are still individual -- you'll still need to personally collect 10 apples or what have you, even in a full group. So either Blizzard disables cross-realm zones and takes the strain off of questing, or they keep cross-realm zones, but get rid of mob tagging, let everyone tap the same resource node, and do another Cataclysm-style revamp to all the quests and actually turn questing into a cooperative experience that actually gives people reasons to group up.Personally, I love that the game can be played alone, and I wouldn't replace that with a co-op experience when you can already get that from choosing to do some raiding, battlegrounds, dungeons or scenarios. Cross-realm zones is attempting to smash singleplayer and multiplayer together via brute force. But they can't just add players to a single-player game and have it work; they have to design the game to be played by multiple people first.
Here is an Idea give me a button to disable CRZ. I hate it! When I was leveling In most zones I was the only Horde on most occasions. How does that help? When I'm trying to catch a new pet or watch for a mount it's bombarded with several people from other servers. If I wanted to deal with 5 million people looking for the same things I am I would play on high pop realm. This is nothing more then another fine example of Blizz rushing things. CRZ has been out for how long and was in beta for how long, yet you still get dismounts on 2 person mounts? Every time I load from one zone to the next I freeze for ever. Don't get me wrong I know some servers are extremely low pop and yes this could be a nice tool if it happened to work properly, But not everyone wants it so give us the option to disable it.
