Pretty enticing offer.
/facepalm indeed. this just screams bad noob lvl 80s-85s. ugh. the mount is lame too.
Does the invited person have to buy game time or anything? O.o or are they just giving this away for free on accepting an invite?
The official wow forums are being flooded with whine over this.
So the only way of getting the spectral wind rider is to find a person who hasn't been subscribed since 3 days ago? They could have announced this was going to happen sooner since me and my GF had to buy more game time last week...we could have waited for this and sent an invitation to each other...
This is the company that just a few months ago told me, repeatedly, they didn't care if I quit WoW. So I did. And now here they are, their arrogance cracking in a pathetically desperate move. If they promised reasonable customer service and a corporate attitude adjustment, rather than virtual toys and ridiculous ding-ups, I might consider coming back. Instead, I'll stand on the shore of other games and watch Titanic bob.
If someone would like the spectral mount please send a scroll of resurrection to email@example.com
They literally do anything to try gaining more subscribers, but they just fail their ass off. I was waiting for the day when you get a free high level char, and here we got it. Mega facepalm...
This is really starting to solidify the fact that Blizzard is losing money. It may seem that the loss of so many subscribers in the past have hit them harder than we ever thought. What say of you now ignorant fools who claim that Blizzard has 10 million and WoW is not suffering? First they offer the annual pass and a free copy of Diablo 3 (which is not doing well) to stem the money loss. Then comes the 600 workers laid off last week and now another promotion to bring back people into WoW. I mean a free upgrade to Cataclysm, a brand new level 80 character, free game time, and free character migration. This is very unusual for Blizzard and it is quite pitiful.Face it, Blizzard is becoming desperate and it must be serious what is happening at Blizzard's HQ right now. The mere fact they cancelled BlizzCon 2012 "for the sake of releasing games faster" is disturbing too as Blizzard never skipped out on a BlizzCon event before ever. The question that we should all ask ourselves is:What the hell is going on in the company to bring forth such unusual behaviour?
Just did this on my old character. Upon logging in i got - Nice set of ilvl 232 greens. Edit-232 not 231Swift purple gryphon. My felsteed and dreadsteed being a warlock.A cookie cutter talent build already set for me based off the spec I chose.(Edit-Poor wording. You choose the spec before logging in. Once logging in all talents have been chosen for you and are locked. So no customizing and no glyphs unlocked)First aid to 450.20 baked manta ray20 Heavy frostweave bandage. All obtainable abilities unlocked including mastery.Artisan riding. The 4 achievements leading up to and including The Right Stuff. (For achieving artisan riding skill.)All 8 achievements leading up to and including Level 80. (Level 10, Level 20...)All 5 achievements up to and including Grand Master in First aid (for 450 first aid)Needless to say getting all those achievements in the middle of Stormwind led to pm's asking if i was a gm or hacker -_-I'll get mount on this guy and my other account with the character I used to send the invite once i purchase a month of wow time.Edit- Forgot to mention you also get the normal items in mail when you normally become an 80 which includes- 5 runic mana potions5 runic healing potions5 potion of speed5 dalaran fireworksAlso had 75 gold :P
They all begin with Dreadsoul. So I believe it is what you are talking about.
That stuff? And yeah, seems like it; quick lol, get the Wowhead client and do an upload =P.
Whoa. I should've read the SoR stuff much better. HOLY CRAP.
I have a second account running the battle chest, that my brother bought for me when the Zebracorn mount became available.I may do this just to get free cataclysm and an extra lvl 80...
Yup that's the whole set I have. I'll try to do the wowhead client.
Blizzard is definitely being smarter about this. In the past, the person doing the inviting basically got $15 ( a free month)... now all they get is an ingame mount (still pretty cool, but basically costs Blizz nothing). The person coming back gets all the obstacles removed. They don´t have to buy a lot of expansions, they don´t have to spend a week or two leveling to the new content etc. It really is a nice deal all around.
