Rift is not WoW. Why is it on the Wowhead blog?
It's also in the Off-Topic area, where things that are not WoW are discussed.
Rift does bring stuff to the game that Everquest already thinked up. This isnt a clone of WoW, but I will say they will try their hardest to go up against Blizzard. Blizzard has always been the lead PC game designers, been around for a long time, making games for others before even becoming a company! Can any one remember one of their earlier games? Hint: Rock and Roll. The game has some nice graphics, I cant complain there, but the bosses and mobs are a /facepalm joke! One, most of them look stupid including the toad boss?I cant compare Rift to WoW, no matter how hard I try, I see it as another Everquest game. But idk, I will stay loyal to Blizzard, looking forwards to Diablo 3!
Prolly gonna wait a month after the release to see if it fails or wins.
Why don't you fill this WoW blog (yes, it's posted to the blog and not just in the off-topic forum) with stuff about LOTRO, Everquest, Star Wars, Aion, Age of Conan, Faxion, Planetside and Duels, and then we can stop talking about WoW all together.
I think this game actually looks pretty fun. I may try it for a month or two.
Nobody should compare Rift to WoW, and nobody should call Rift a WoW Killer for that matter. I do not want Rift to become a WoWkiller. Just let World of Warcraft be what it is since years... being the "beginner MMO" and the home to the many "average-talented" players trying to step into a new genre. Plus being one of the games we help our girlfriends getting used to gaming. I do not want WoW kiddies crawling up on Rift, neither do I want a majority of the player's from my server up on Rift. I will not go as far as to say, I do not want the majority of WoWplayers jumping to Rift, because I do not know by myself what this majority would actually be and I do not want to start getting unfair and put up random accusings And technically, if anyone is interested, the heads behind Trionworlds are the makers of Everquest and Dark Ages of Camelot. It is funny enough that most people compare MMOs to World of Warcraft just because it is popular, even though Blizzard copied the interface, colour codings and very basic stuff from existing MMOs back then. The only two MMOs that really brought the genre forward since these days in my humble Opinion are Guildwars and Eve Online. I would love to call Rift one of them, but it is kind of irritating to see a game hitting the market that is shipped with features already mentioned to be implemented in Guildwars2 even before some solid info about Rift emerged.Regardless, as for this recent BFF Report; It is a pleasure listening to condensed and high-velocity propelled Information to keep it all nice, tidy and short, yet delivering a huge amount of intel for us and being funny all the same time. Thank you fony :)
i knew that he would do another Rift episode.. and i knew that we would had another "this is not a rift blog, get out of my head!" fights in the comments ...nice
There will never be a "wow killer." Wow will have to kill itself.
game looks very nice but it seems too easy...which i'll be bored with fast and the content seems lacking.
