Yeah, things like Carbonite affect games so much! You can actually see the terrain from that addon! In your map. It is like Google Earth
Love the intro haha...
How? It scared me!Edit: I noticed you turned your camera slightly to the left
He's been at his grandparent's cabin for a while now... it must be getting to him.
The main question about addons is; "do you become dependent on them, or do you NOT?". If you strip away all addons, would you still do, lets say, about the same amount of damage? If yes, then you use addons to just make you better at what you do. Does your damage drop SUBSTANTIALLY when you turn off all your addons? If yes, then you are nothing more than a puppet following flashy lights and stuff and the credibility of your perception just went into the trashcan. I dislike the ability to use addons, because all of them which are no visual customization of anything are just pointing out the inability to create a proper interface that presents all the information (and customization) you need. Its a joke blizzard needed how many years for USEFUL raidframes to come up? I certainly understood the necessity of Raidframe addons for Healers.About encounter addons; the nowadays built-in boss mod from Blizzard actually suffices to me in a whole lot of ways. Where is the intuition and reaction gone if you can predict to the tenth of a second when a certain boss is going to cast which ability? I also blame it on a majority of straightforward fights, but thats another story. Before I was forced to use a bossmod I timed things that happened on the screen with cooldowns or buttonpushes. Like "as soon as I hit that skill for the third time, in the next few seconds happens. I am also at a loss, from an ingame perspective, that you roll up against a bossfight and - lo and behold - your character knows EVERYTHING that guy would do? What are we, fortune tellers? Last thing to add is; there are enough MMOs that have no need for addons (and also prohibit their use) who still went successfully for years and years, because the game itself was well enough designed that the need for modifications (other than cosmetic) never became evident. It also seems to be a completely utopian idea to just put together a group of witty people pre-cata, get into the raid without a bossmod or guide or whatsoever information... and just go figure it out by yourself what is going to happen there. Nobody would believe you and nobody would take you seriously if you said "well we did it just that way by ourselfs" as long as you are not the first line of raiders to conquer content. (( which happens in beta already... save Sinestra... which was abysmal designed... ))/ends rant before it exaggerates
Lore got so disturbed by his memories of using Decursive that he had to stop and hug his purple unicorn for a minute:D
Really enjoyed this episode. Not sure if it was just the information that appealed to me or if it was the editing but it was fantastic! My fav Marmot so far! Thanks for making it Lore.
Mods can be good, allthough you SHOULD be able to perform very well using the default UI. One exeption, was kitty DPS in wotlk. Or, it was posible to play with the default UI, but it was tough!
I must admit I'm using waaaay less addons in Cata than WotLK - even good ol' Carbonite I've turned off because the UI and maps have caught up (to an extent). It's actually refreshing to get back to the basics and enjoy the experience more rather than buggering about with addons all day.One exception (actually two) are Auctioneer and Bagnon - 2 that I would love to see implemented into the basic UI.
he is talking about ilvl and gs/playerscore. and well i still think playerscore is better:ilvl counts every gear you have including things you have in bank or bags. so lets say you have you pve set with an ilvl on 359 and you pvp set in the bank or in bags with 369 average ilvl counts both sets in.Gs/playerscore gives you the lucky number. like 8234 or something like that.. (that is my gs btw got 346 ilvl with no other gear anywhere els, a dude with 346 ilvl don't have 8234 unless he's gear are enchanted, reforged and gemmed)also if a gem or an enchant dosn't match for the classe/gear/role then it will not count in the gs.. and if it does you can mark it as invalid.also if you think the players is an idiot. you can give him a red thump, and if he is a good player you can give him a green thump. this addons covers all cornors of the gear. but we must not forget to still compare achives with em and control that they know fights.
I have one question: Is he malgayne? Who talks.
