Good! If you do any dungeon running at all as you level, you are completely screwed if you want to do the quests out in the world. I know with my druid, I've done a couple zones just to get them through, but it's disheartening when the rewards for a quest are completely out of line for the level you are. One of the points of the old world revamp was to get you to do it again on a new character, to experience the changes that were made. When you completely outlevel a zone you're questing, the impact (and relative difficulty) trivializes the whole experience. For instance, Saggoth in Darkshore loses a lot of impact as far as how the experience goes if you can just three shot him because you're a half dozen levels above him.
Not an improvement for my play style... I wish I knew what dungeons you all were doing saying you get 2+ levels in one run... I have gone up one level in a dungeon at the most... never two... This makes me pretty sad as I REALLY enjoyed the low level dungeon experience, so I preferred doing them at times over questing. Now it sounds like I would get sick of dungeons if I tried to level on them... oh well... Only have one character on my main server that is in this level range now anyway... And I'm doing recruit-a-friend on my new server so I probably wouldn't be doing many dungeons on them from 1-60 either.
It's only the DUNGEON QUESTS that are being reduced in xp. The dungeons themselves aren't, nor are quests in general. You can only do the quests once per dungeon anyway. The sky is not falling, Chicken Little. Quitcherbichen.
Good that they turned it down, just fun doing the quests and it gives it alittle more life to the dungeons. imho i would do those quests even tho they didn't reward any xp. :pCould understand how importaint instance leveling if for some (hint: get some heirloms and faceroll till u get bored then), cmon.. the game was based on leveling through quests in zones and instances were mostly for equipment back int the days. -- no offence ;)
20% is more than people think...
Although Im enjoying the new content and lore, I have 2 toons leveling differently. 1. I have a huntard doing quests to learn the new lore, 3 pieces of herloom shoulder chest and trink. I have been doing all quests, even the ones past the zone achievement. usualy about 1 level every hour without rested, Im giving him a break at the moment because I have quested myself out. 2 my rogue shares the same gear as my huntard and he is Leveling through instances. once you do the quest(s) in the instances thats it they are done and cannot be repeated in other words 1 and done. My rogue has been gaining levels about every half hr I enjoy this because I already have quite a few 80's that I raid and pvp with and can honestly say I dont like questing since I had to do this with my origanal 3 80's. I say if your going to nerf the xp from the instance quests make them repeatable.
If your decked out in full heirlooms, take them off and do the dungeons.
I'll reserve my final opinion until after the 7th.When I was in the process of leveling my Priest (after playing 6 some-odd years), I was *sick* of doing the same quests over and over, so I leveled her almost strictly through the dungeon finder. With the rework of the quests and new races, I'm actually looking forward to experiencing the new changes in Azeroth.
Yeah... I ran SM Armory on my Paladin today. She went in level 33 and came out level 36. That is WAY overkill especially considering she had no heirlooms on (even though she did have full rested EXP... still...)
I like the idea, for now.I, like many here have numerous alts, the later ones have all been leveled via the over generous amounts of XP given in dungeons. There are only so many times one can face Stranglethorn Vale, etc.. so, the chance to effectively warp past certain zones, to me is very attractive the 8th time round.I have to say currently I am totally in love with the game again, and enjoying leveling immensely. The zones feel more or less right, and in all honesty I don't feel compelled to run a dungeon, because I am more or less progressing the storyline zone by zone, and skipping 2 levels would just put me too far ahead.
Just ran through Shadowfang Keep and went from 19-21. On one hand, I really enjoyed that as a break from questing, on the other hand, I just outleveled N.Barrens and I just barely got started in it, when people have been talking about how much that area's improved. And now I gotta go back in there again to get my Sunwalker weapon. Hopefully it'll last me quite a while because outlevelling a weapon I just worked hard to make would suck. I also have to go in there and create my Wildhammer weapon too. >.<
I agree with this change because on all of my leveling characters, I'd only do dungeons if I had at least one quest for it that I got while leveling in a zone. To my dismay however, after completing the dungeon and turning in the quests, I'd be way past the level of my previously acquired quests.
I will agree with the level 15-30 dungeons but after that a hole instance will maybe give you 1 level with quests included and thats a big if.
