/agree!Listened to it yesterday and it gave me goosebumps!
Yeah, this 1 is great but am I the only 1 that thinks the original "Legends of Azeroth" still is the best?
It lack voices. It is not epic if there are no choral voices.
After listening to it I only expect a great intro or a great disappointment
Your ADD must've flared up, there are vocals towards the end.
Who else noticed that they added parts from every game so far into parts of the song? They remixed the original track with the drum+symbol combo from TBC and they also used the chord progression from the WotLK song.
Want. Now. <3I have always liked WoW's music, but this is once of the best.Side note: "Engineering" was in my captcha. :P
There's also some voices around the two minute mark, albeit not as many as I'd prefer (but I'm a huge fan of non-lyrical chant/song, so that should be no surprise).I wasn't a huge fan of 0:20-1:20-ish—or rather, I wasn't feeling that it was very login-screen-y. It'd work as a background track for something else, though. From there, it felt a lot more Warcrafty, and if the full track repeats on the login screen, most of it is not-jarring enough that I think I'll be okay if someone in the household forgets to quit WoW and/or mute their computer sounds before going to bed....well, assuming Sindragosa stays the hell away from the login this go-round.
I dunno... Totems of the Grizzlemaw is good too.
Awesome.Leet.Etc.This confirms it. Cataclysm will revive WoW.

Hrmmm.... at about 6:50 they recycle a good bit of the theme from the "Invincible" track they put out. Strange that they would add notes about Arthas' horse to a track supposedly concerning The Shattering. Don't get me wrong, "Invincible" is an awesome track, it just seems strange that they would, almost verbatim (is there a musical rendition of that word? verlyricum?), minus a time sig change, transcribe the a very minor (lore-wise) song from on expansion into another song devoted to a new expansion's introduction.
@theomegapoint: It's because they added a bit of every expension/vanilla music into it.I also agree with Xella that the 0:20-1:20 part is not the best part. Personally I would cut it off and it would improve the overall song.
i got goosebumps too and when i heard the original violin opening i laughed out loud for joy XD its so sick! The vocals are beautiful, and the way they used things from previous openings is incredible. Whoever wrote this is a genius! The vibe ive been getting from Cata has always been mixed feelings, "i love this, cant stand that". after 5 1/2 years of playing WoW i cant believe im going to be noobified again, but this. THIS. makes me truely believe if i had another soul to sell Blizz... i would. Cant wait to get the sound track for cata, ill probably have it on repeat for weeks after :D
Man this music is awesome.
very nice i love how they use bits of all their music in it makes you feel the whole world is represented in this.
It's a nice song, but still can't even remotely compare to the original. There's too many "random" places in this song instead of a theme or melody. I like the song, in all honesty, but the entire part from 0:39 to 1:30 doesn't belong at all and is completely out of place, especially for a login screen. It's supposed to be STRONG. RAAH! You're logging in! Aren't you excited? Not building it up and then going soft at 0:39 seconds. Sounds totally retarded. To further clarify my point, download and listen; because this is what the beginning should sound like.
Well, I didn't like it. It was too "OMFWTFKABOOM" to my taste......then again, this is all Cataclysm is about anyway...
