Class Design on the 7.1.5 PTR, Mythic Keystone Leaderboards Now Available, November 22nd Hotfixes
2016/11/22 at 3:59 PM
For blue posts today, Blizzard clarified some of their recent class balance changes and the design approach behind them. This included the much anticipated traps for Survival Hunters, which was teased during several BlizzCon interviews, as well as an explanation on what they are trying to do with Fire mages.
Blizzard also added keystone leaderboards for Mythic+ dungeons. You'll now be able to see who has the best time by realm and dungeon.
Class Design on the 7.1.5 PTR
2016/11/18 at 9:25 PM
When the 7.1.5 PTR went up earlier this week, we had
spell changes from datamining
but no specific class changes in the
official patch notes
. As such, there was some confusion as to the intended changes and class directions for specializations that seemed unfinished.
Today, Blizzard explained that the 7.1.5 PTR so far only shows roughly half of the mechanical changes, with more of them coming in the next build. Once the mechanical changes are in a good place, adjustments to overall performance will follow.
You can read up on the spell changes so far in our

7.1.5 Holiday Updates: Micro-Holidays and World Events
2016/11/17 at 7:44 PM
Between the 7.1.5 PTR introducing new micro-holidays and
WoW's 12th Anniversary
, we thought it was a good time to summarize what we know about all the upcoming holiday changes coming in 2017 to WoW.
Micro-holidays are small holidays, not tied to any meta-achievement, that celebrate different parts of Azeroth's culture and history such as
Call of the Scarab
The traditional two-week holidays have also received a steady stream of new toys for the upcoming year.
Items from the Love is in the Air and Midsummer bosses now show as "scaling with level"--looks like Blizzard is making good on the promise to open up the fights to lower-level players.

Guide to What's Coming in the Legion Pre-Expansion and PTR Patch Notes
2016/06/14 at 4:18 PM
This guide covers all the content and system updates coming in the Legion prepatch--before the expansion hits. Blizzard briefly posted the Legion Pre-Expansion Patch PTR notes to their blog--they are now removed, but still up in our
. So now seemed like a good time to highlight all the content that will be coming!
We do not know when the Legion prepatch will hit, but they are usually a few weeks before the expansion. This patch contains many system and UI changes for Legion--you just can’t access Legion content or level to 110. You can access things in the prepatch like the new wardrobe system, the 7.0 prelaunch event, and UI Improvements. At some point before Legion hits, there will be Early Access to Demon Hunters as well.
The prepatch also removes some Warlords of Draenor content, such as starting the legendary questline, finishing Warlords Challenge Modes, Brawler's Guild, and acquiring massive amounts of gold from the Garrison. We’ve
put together a guide
documenting everything that’s going away if you want to obtain some vanity gear and achievements before it’s too late!
