Speculated to be a new award for completing the Darkmoon game daily quests. A possible item found in this container could be Darkmoon Top Hat.

Hmm, well its one way to get people to start playing those games daily again, after they no longer want any tickets or have anything to spend them on.

EDIT: Since it's becoming the new reward for the daily quests (replacing the tickets) the Darkmoon Prize Tickets will be contained in this bag (possibly with random amounts) with a small chance at other prizes.

These prizes could include the new hats added, the purchasable pets, and who knows what else we will see. Maybe some Aged Yolk, cause we could all use a little yolk now and then.

Darkmoon dailies are what really got my chronic hand pain started, but seemed like a great way to get several sets of heirlooms over two to three months when I didn't have anyone at max level and was short on playtime and motivation.

Haven't gone back much since except for the monthly trade skill bump, so this might be fun to check out. I also thought the replica armor was bind on pick-up, so wasted a potential cash opportunity.

Always has a Darkmoon Prize Ticket, has a chance to have pets and Darkmoon Top Hat. Out of 5 prizes, I got a Darkmoon Zeppelin and two hats.

Since there's presently no official Wowhead data on what this can contain (yet), I'll add another item that I haven't seen anyone mention. This can contain Cloak of the Darkmoon Faire.

Edited for clarity:
I do the Faire on 8 toons every month (I'm working towards all the Heirlooms on a fresh account), so over the course of a week thats 280 dailies.

I can confirm (thus far) that it is possible to receive up to 3 items in the prize, that pets, toys, the Cloak and the Top Hat are among the items rewarded and that each and every prize awards a minimum of one ticket. Turning off Auto-Loot has no effect and will not let you 'look' at the contents of the prize without taking them.

I will update the contents as the week progresses.

It appears that the chances of receiving a prize containing only one ticket are around 75% (you get one everytime you open a prize, but here I mean you have a 75% chance of receiving nothing else in your prize), and the chances of receiving another item in your prize is around 25%.

I think it's fair to say that any item sold by Gelvas Grimegate or Lhara may appear in the prize although there is no reported sighting of the mounts yet.

My net results:

Single Ticket Only: 117/160 = 73.13%
Carousel or Sandbox ride: 28/160 = 17.5%
Top Hat: 11/160 = 6.9%
Cloak: 1/160 = .6%
Pet: 2/160 = 1.3%
Toy: 2/160 = 1.3%

I did my game dailies for the first time today, and opening 5 Darkmoon Game Prize, I received:

5 Darkmoon Prize Ticket (100% drop chance)
1 Darkmoon Zeppelin
1 Darkmoon Top Hat

Seems to make the dailies that much more worthwhile. The Zeppelin alone saved me 90 tickets.

This is the new reward for Darkmoon Faire quests. The contents of a Darkmoon Game Prize can contain multiple various prizes, such as:

pets
toys
Darkmoon Top Hat, which will increase experience and reputation gains by 10% for 1 hour, when used

... along with the previously awarded Darkmoon Prize Ticket.

So far I've received two Pets (the zepellin and the tiger), the Top Hat x3 and variety of toys, including the Darkmoon Sword and the caroussels. Doing the dailies on three different toons. The tickets are always included in the bag, seems like everyone else is a bonus. Will edit if the mount drops over the course of the week.

The most important change is that these are mailable, so all your toons can mail thier prize boxes to one toon to open. That way instead of each toon earning 5 tickets a day the one toon can earn 55 tickets aday (11 toons per realm).

I wish the "Contains (20)" tab for this item would have SOME way of indicating that it also contains a Darkmoon Prize Ticket. There needs to be some way for Wowhead to display data on currency in a container.

This can also contain the Brawler's Guild quest item Well-Worn Blindfold. Drop % still unknown.

Since 5.3 it can contain Well-Worn Blindfold.
When you want Well-Worn Blindfold fast on your brawlers guild character, you can collect this item with alts and check their content via shift/ctrl click.

Be careful: only level 90 players can see the Well-Worn Blindfold.
So mail your Darkmoon Game Prize to the right character before opening.

Opened my 5 today and totally forgot to check for the blindfolds (cause I did the dailies on my monk, and the shaman is my brawler.) I got just a ticket on the first three I opened then got a blindfold on the fourth (*le sigh*) and a cloak on the fifth. Not a terrible haul, but make sure you don't auto loot your boxes like I did. Because thats probably that last blindfold I'm ever going to see :P

These never seem to expire/disappear, and they can contain Darkmoon Top Hat, so it seems possible to have a 10% exp DMF buff anytime you want, provided you do your dailes and get lucky and don't loot the hat from these boxes until you're ready to use them. These boxes are even tradeable/mailable, too!

If you have an empty character slot you can farm as many tickets as you need without waiting for a new day. Just make a new tauren or human character (monk recommended for 10% speed boost), get on your main and send 5 silver to that new character and go do the 5 dailies. Flying from Bloodhoof to Thunderbluff speeds up the tauren trek. Hearth back to the starting area and mail the game prizes to the character you want and delete the level 1 character. Repeat as many times as you want.

Yesterday I got the Darkmoon Tonk and Hatchling pets in two boxes in the one set of dailies.

Given their below 1% drop chance it's gotta be one of the rarest moments I've had in wow.

Now I just need the same luck for the Drake of the South Wind, Mimiron's head, Onyxian Drake, Invincible and about 5 other rare as balls mounts.

The ability to use the Darkmoon Top Hat outside of the Darkmoon Faire by keeping them inside the Game Prizes was just hotfixed a day before WOD launch. Confirmed.
