The fact that this goes green at 505 and you don't see another bandage until 525 is pretty rough, but the upside is that you get to use these heavy bandages to make others once you hit 525. With the drop rate of Embersilk being problematic for some people, this may take some time.

As of writing this, I have 120 heavy embersilk bandages and am still 2 points away from 525 and while I could seriously use the embersilk for my Tailor character, I really want the 525 bandages to help out with those lifetaps...

It should stay yellow until 510 imo. The last 2 points were slow for me as well. It took at least 3-4 stacks, I might have been unlucky though.

I waited to do this until our guild got the Working Overtime perk. Leveling from 520-525 took less than one stack of cloth.

In tbc and wotlk one had the option of buying cloths from the AH, make bandages (go afk) and sell them to vendors for a little net profit.
Oddly enough, the sell price of this bandage is lower than the wotlk and even tbc ones.
This time, if you want the "stock bandages" achievement, you'll have to pay.

As of patch 5.0.4, Dense Embersilk Bandage can no longer be crafted.
Heavy Embersilk Bandage has been upgraded, so they both heal for 35,008 HP over 8 seconds.
The only real difference now is the skill level requirement.

As of 5.04 you may need to re-learn Field Bandage: Dense Embersilk, and Dense Embersilk Bandage. However, they now heal for the same amount (35,008). You may want to save your gold if you already know Heavy Embersilk Bandage.

I would recommend learning the dense embersilk bandages. You will need them to lvl up all the way to 525.

Although the first aid skill was removed with the BFA Pre-Patch, the bandages are still available in the game and can now only be made by tailors. For all other professions the different types of cloth are still required for a couple of recipes. So check your recipes to see if you can use the cloth before you sell it through auction house or to a vendor.
