Neither is unique, so you could get 2 of them, but as stated the "on-use" functions share the same cooldown.

It works like this... Say, you have 8000 health.

Before-----------After
8000/8000-----9750/9750
6000/8000-----7313/9750 (rounded from 7312.5)
4000/8000-----4875/9750
2000/8000-----2438/9750 (rounded from 2437.5)
-----1/8000 ---------1/9750 (rounded from 1.21875)

Will you lose health? Sort of.

Say, you were full health at 100% and used the trinket to obtain 9750 max health. After jumping off a cliff, you lost 4875 health from the fall. You decided to remove the buff for unknown reason. At that point, you health will become 4000(50% of 8000) instead of staying at 4875(50% of 9750).

I have not tested it yet, almost there to get mines, but it says :
"Increases maximum health by 1750 for 15 sec"

I think it pretty much works like Last Stand, altho Last Stand ability says :
"When activated, this ability temporarily grants you 30% of your maximum health for 20 sec"

By saying GRANTS YOU 30% of your health it does specify that u'll gain 30% health plus the health you have at that moment, but what confuses people is the INCREASE MAXIMUM HEALTH on the trinket description.
People may think it only works like u've gained 1750 more health, and that'll need to be healed so u can go full hp.

But as i said, i believe it works like Last Stand, yes.

If you do the Sha'tari Skyguard dailies, I'd strongly recommend http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32770 over Battlemaster's Cruelty for casual battleground PVP, unless you have 30k honor to spare or don't mind the grind.

Sha'tari Skyguard rep is extremely easy to get (see faction details). You can quite easily clock up 1350+ rep in about 30-40 minutes of questing. You can also grind mobs through exalted.

As for trinket vs. trinket, you only lose 0.28% crit chance going for the Skyguard Silver Cross over the Battlemaster's Cruelty, although the Battlemaster's Cruelty's use feature could be considered more desirable for those make-or-break situations in arena.

If you do PVE, another great trinket for battleground PVP is http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28034, which drops in Black Morass (normal and heroic).
