Gear and Stat Prioritization
Primary Stat: Strength
Armor Type: Plate
Secondary stat priorities
Currently Frost’s stat priority varies based on how much of each stat that you currently have. Due to this there is no *real* stat priority. If I had to make decision on what is best, look below.
Machine Gun: Strength >>> Haste to 21% > Crit > Mastery = Vers
Breath: Strength >>> Crit > Haste >= Mastery > Vers
For your specific stat weights,
check out Wowhead's guide on how to get your characters stat weights.
Critical Strike: Chance for extra effectiveness on attacks and heals. Increases the amount of
procs that you get.
Haste: Increases attack speed, reduces the global cooldown, increases your rune regeneration, and increases the amount of
procs that you get.
Mastery: Increases the effectiveness of
Mastery: Frozen Heart
Versatility: Increases damage and healing, and reduces damage taken
Item - Death Knight T19 Frost 2P Bonus
- Obliterate has a 20% increased chance to trigger Rime.
Item - Death Knight T19 Frost 4P Bonus
- Howling Blast now generates 8 Runic Power while Rime is active.

Recommended Nighthold Gear
section below for recommendations on gear pieces.
Spells or Stats Involved
Toravon's Whiteout Bindings
By far our best legendary for pure output, but does not synergize with every build.
Pillar of Frost
Seal of Necrofantasia
Second best legendary for the Breath of Sindragosa build as this allows for high uptimes.
Empower Rune Weapon
Perseverance of the Ebon Martyr
With the tier giving us more Rime procs, this allows for Howling Blast to constantly hit for a very large amount. This is very good in AoE situations and okay on single target.
Koltira's Newfound Will
Overall the best legendary that Frost currently has in regard to the synergies with the current builds. Although it is not amazing for the Machine Gun build it is still an increase to use and synergises with the tier very well.
Consort's Cold Core
Good for M+ and AoE fights, very mediocre for single target.
Increases the duration of Anti-Magic Shell by 100% and any damage it absorbs heals you.
Increases your movement speed by 75% of your Haste or Critcal Strike, whichever is higher.
Successfully applying a loss of control effect to an enemy, interrupting an enemy, or dispelling any target grants you 70% increased movement speed and 25% Haste for 10 sec. This effect may occur once every 30 sec.
Movement Speed & Haste Gain.
Prydaz, Xavaric's Magnum Opus
Every 30 sec, gain an absorb shield for 25% of your maximum health for 30 sec.
Recommended Nighthold Gear
This is a general recommendation for gearing in The Nighthold. With Warforged and Titanforged possibilities, having a set list of items as being "best in slot" is impossible. In almost every situation, an increase in item level is going to be better, even if the stat allocation isn't perfect. Here are some pieces you can try to gear for:
Beleron's Choker of Misery
Dreadlord's Tattered Wingcover
Eternally Recurring Bracers
Waistplate of Fractured Realities
Sabatons of Unchanging Fate
Star Augur Etraeus
Spellblade's Gemmed Signet
Ring of Braided Stems
High Botanist Tel'arn
Draught of Souls
Entwined Elemental Foci
Convergence of Fates
Breath of Sindragosa
Finding Gear on Wowhead
From simple recommendations to advanced filters, Wowhead can help you find the gear you want.
is a great way to search for gear if you are new to Wowhead's filtering system.
Choose what item category, gear slot, and class specialization you're interested in, and it will return results for you. You can further narrow it down by source--including gear from LFR and heroic dungeons.
You can find the Item Finder via Tools > Item Finder or Database > Items > Item Finder.
returns personalized gear suggestions for you and shows which content has the most upgrades.
Simply load up the
with you preferred character and it will list gear recommendations in a 20 ilvl range for you. It will also list how many gear upgrades each boss has so you can plan out bonus rolls. Finally, the character planner will perform an audit and let you know if you have any missing enchants, glyphs, or gems.
If you have a character in our
which is great for tracking vanity collections and viewing your character in our 3D modelviewer, you can click on the "Planner" button in the header to access the tool. If you don't, you can just enter your information in at Tools > Character Planner.
Wowhead utilizes a powerful system of item filters to narrow down the gear you need.
, you can enter in some basic options at the top--the name of the item, its item level, the level the players needs to be. The "Usable by" dropdowns cover factions, class, and role.
The dropdown menu right above "Stat Weights" opens to display a variety of advanced options. These cover the following:
General item info such as Added in Expansion/Patch, BoE/BoP, Unique-Equipped, Class-Specific.
Stats: All primary stats, secondary stats, defensive stats, and weapon stats.
Source: All in-game sources, ranging from raid difficulties to the Black Market Auction House to sold by a vendor.
Miscellaneous: Many of these filters are not relevant to equippable gear such as Crafting Reagents and Toys, but you can filter for items that are currently obtainable.
Once you've selected a filter from the menu, click on Apply filter for search results. You can repeat the process to filter for multiple criteria at once--for example, Agility gear that is found in Mythic Foundry.
Over on the right-hand side of the page, you can select a particular Gear Slot or Quality to narrow results even further.
Finally, you can quickly view a subset of items at once using the Database Menus. Head to Database > Items and mouseover the Weapon and Armor options for quick links to gear arranged by armor type and slot.
