As usual the new hunter tier is disappointing. Epic hunter gear almost never looks like something that would be worn by the hunter of my imagination - a cunning, resourceful tracker/sniper who roams free in the company of ferocious beasts beyond the borders of genteel civilization, a self-sufficient loner who cares nothing for the trifling affairs of princes and politicians, a master marksman who comes in from the wild only to trade his/her deadly services to the highest bidder.
The devs just don't get the hunter culture and never have. They seem to have barely given it any thought, ever. To begin with, a hunter at any level - whose survival depends above all on maximizing mobility, speed, agility and accuracy - would prize tough, light, supple leather over expensive, cumbersome mail, but there's no use flogging that horse at this late stage of the game. Once again I'll be tmogging this junk right from the jump.

Yeah- I have never liked any of the hunter tier sets- I always transmog to greens. I think that the the set from the Trial of the Crusade was passable, and I liked the shorts from MC (thought the rest of the set was absurd).
I actually liked this last tier of PvP gear, though, with the feathered cap and the asymmetrical shoulders with the dragon on it.

Agreed, hunter PvP gear is almost always better looking than the PvE tier sets. It's still mail, though. I'm currently mogged into the
Demon Stalker
set and kicking myself that I didn't keep the belt and boots. I mean, who knew there would ever be a way to look that badass again?

Awesome !
ot : i don't care about the looks , but i think the set bonuses suck though .

Yeah, those kinds of gimmick effects generally end up pretty weak dps-wise. I'm not going to get too cranked up about set bonuses in PTR though. I'll wait to see what the real bonuses will eventually be.

Furious Gladiator's Chain Armor
is my personal favorite. Its only Hunter set which makes Hunter look like Hunter not like Huntard...
That doesn't look huntery to me at all o.O

This
is my current PvE set. It's on a female Draenei, so the boots are invisible.
This
is for PvP. I think that the old greens, minus the shoulders maybe, were much nicer than any of the old or new tier sets.

Actually, according to Mr. Robot, haste is preferred over Mastery now for SV hunters at least. I was surprised when my audit told me to reforge all of my stuff to crit, and then haste.

That.. doesn't make sense... okay, to be frank, I haven't looked closely at SV changes to see if they would favor haste, but I do have to agree with Zakkhar - all that haste makes waste - the only thing I can think of is that ist wanted by MM (and a means of boosting MM) and now apparently SV as well (though I still find that dubious at best), and that leaves enhancement and BM - if haste is preferable to enh, that could justify it.

Yeah, enither of those changes should affect haste or haste scaling for SV.
So its a really weird choice of secondary stats, as haste doesn't let us "do more" since we are blocked by hard CDs.
now if we got something like Sanctity of Battle paladins have, ooh, haste would be the new go-to stat, as we would gain 100% benefit 100% of the time (well AS wouldn't scale directly with haste)- the downside (from developers point of view) is that we would have a - more or less - fixed rotation, KC, 2xCoS, AS repeat.
The only way for AS to scale with haste (and for the scaling not to make weird gaps) in such a case would be reverting bck to a 1.5 second base GCD and have haste lower the GCD as well.

Personally I prefer Tier 1 for paladins - well at least for female tauren paldins (sans the helmetl, using engineering goggles for that transmog)

I really cringe when I see threads like this --seriously I couldn't tell you what my toon looked like --I don't look at it! and I don't look at what other peoples toons are wearing either
I am too busy looking at things I have to kill and what I am standing in or where I am going . The only thing that matters about gear is the STATS , I would still play the game if our toons were stick figures . Gameplay is all that matters ( maybe I am like this because my gaming goes back to pong ,and my favourite all time gaming machine is the C64, then again in RL if I was with you all day today I couldn't tell you tomorrow what you were wearing , often takes me days to realise my wife has had a hair cut )
But I am glad some people like to make their toons look pretty - going to make My blacksmith a lot of money with the mog weapons when thunderforge get opened on my server :)

So, what you are saying is you have no aesthetic sense Wombat? ;-)
(No I do get what you are saying, however I think that in WoW its become more obvious when gear is mismatched when you have to observe (not stare or look at) your character for extended lenghst of time, like when raiding for several hours, than in a lot fo other games - especially games where gear isn't quite as disparate (probably because it looks more real-world), or there aren't quite so many gear slots.)
