Questing on a Monk
Return to board index
Comparatively new to the monk class, but I'm finding it quite enjoyable. I'm still relatively low level, and wondering which talents and glyphs you find best for leveling. I have no interest in doing dungeons, so please advise me from a pure solo questing viewpoint. Thanks!
EDIT1: I'm a Windwalker

It's a good resource. Even so, I'm seeking individual tips and such :)
Go Brewmaster; Windwalker does do the big hits, but since it's very reliant on gear, stick with the tank spec till you hit 90.
As for what's best: That's your choice.
I leveled as BrM till the 50's until I finally grabbed a WW spec. I purely quested till Outlands when I started tanking instances. I tanked/DPS'd depending on what popped up until Cata then quested/ran dungeons as WW till 90.
I personally like Momentum for the level 15 talent as you can get a speed boost for upwards of 20 seconds which makes running around useful before mounts or in areas where you cannot mount up.
Either Chi Wave or Sphere for 30 (note Sphere will aggro yellow mobs if you run over them when its up).
I originally went with Ascension at 45 but later changed to Power Strikes which I like because it allows for Rising Sun and Tigers Palm of the intial Jab in most cases.
I went with Leg Sweep at 60 only because in 5.2 the ranged was becoming automatic and 5 seconds was more than enough time to mine a node.
At 75 I took Diffuse Magic but didnt use it until LFR the other day. So Dampen Harm or Healing Exlir might be better for leveling.
At 90 Xuen.
For glyphs I found most of them lackluster and more situational than truely beneficial.
