You have a "stance bar" , druids have the same in shapeshift forms.
It basically means you have a special bar for shadowform, so you can have stuff on your bars that you use when not in shadowform, and other stuff when in shadowform, without having to change it around.
Granted it is confusing for newer players (I had to help my GF when she got shadowform on her priest).
What you do is open your spellbook (default ) and find the spells in there, and drag them onto your bar while in shadowform.
To avoid confusion later, do this in an inn (or town or other safe place) and switch in and out of shadowform so the spells are on the same buttons in and out, so in case you use a spell that takes you out of shadowform you still have your spells where you expect them to be.

An alternate (and more complicated) way to do this is to write a macro for each action button and give them obvious names. Like "F 1-F 2-F 3-...-F12".
The added benefit of macro is that you can stick multiple spells into one button, like
paired with
Mind Blast
in the #showtooltip
/cleartarget
/startattack
/cast Devouring Plague; Mind Blast
