i cannot see any logical reason to deprive players from that experience until they have achieved the highest level possible in the game. Unless it already is a pre-taste of the next expansion. but still... bad blizzard, no cookie.

Because so many people skipped everything in Cata due to the fact that Azeroth flying was available at level 60; this time around, after all the time and effort Blizzard put into making the new content, they wanted all the players, be they lazy bums or not, to actually see the world.

I remember reading somewhere that Blizzard didn't want flying until max level in Pandaria because they wanted to break up the "kill - loot - fly to next target"-pattern that characterized the leveling process in Cataclysm.
Additionally, Blizzard has put a tremendous amount of time into creating beautiful zones, and they want you to explore them, not simply fly above them. By making people to use their feet / ground mount, they are also making them see the zones the way they are designed to be seen.
Another reason I can think of is that Blizzard wants to make the Horde / Alliance-conflict more visible in Mists of Pandaria, and that they do this by facilitating world PvP by removing flying during leveling.

Let me fix that for you....
Welcome back to Lich King, Burning Crusade and Vanilla WoW. You did not get the highest perks until you were the highest level. No epic ground mounts until you level capped. No flying in BC until you got to 70, no flying in LK until you hit 80 and bought cold weather flying.
Cataclysm was the first and ONLY expansion that allowed you to fly before max level and I think it was a mistake just like the developers did. They put a lot of work into the areas and early flight just allows you to zip by it all because you want to level faster.
Now stop whining that you can't fly before you make Barry's cat mad and they take mounts out of the game totally and you have to run everywhere...

You get a much better feel for the world when you start out footin' it. I like that. If you can fly anywhere, the zones lose their internal coherence. When you have to hoof it, you get a feel for what is where, and the world feels like an actual world. And you feel a lot more like being part of that world.
I think they did a good thing here. I'll probably hate it on my fifth alt, but on my first going through it was marvelous.

Actually, you couldn't skip anything in the revamped Azeroth zones (excluding 80+ zones) unless you were 60, in which it all becomes irrelevant.
In terms of Cataclysm zones, I believe that most (except maybe Mount Hyjal) were designed with flying in mind. However, that is/was not the case for a majority of the questing in leveling zones in other expansions.
Just wanted to make things clear. I still prefer BC/WotLK/MoP quest progression in terms of flight accessibility (I liked the slightly early flying in Wrath with zones designed to account for it, giving a new scope to some immense zones that essentially required flight)

Here is my challenge!
Tell me what quest, from 85-90 has a distance greater than like 40 yards to get to the quest objective?... or that doesn´t give you a free flight path. Honestly, I cannot think of any leveling quests where I would have bothered to fly anyway.

Silly goose, you bought Cold Weather Flying at 77. Storm Peaks and Icecrown would be all but impossible to quest in without it (in fact, simply impossible. There is no way to talk to Thorim or get on board Orgrim's hammer without it!)

I'm still not a fan of the no fly rule till 90 in pandaland but it is what it is.
I do wonder though of all the supporters of using ground mounts from 85 to 90 in MoP how many of them chose to use their ground mounts in Cata from 80 to 85, I'd wager not many.
While were on the subject of flying does anyone know if the new dailies area in Krasarang Wilds will be a no fly zone when 5.1 goes live?

I doubt it yukonjack. I don't think that is a restriction on the PTR nor do I think they'd implement such a restriction once people hit 90.

I sure hope that is the case, I seem to recall reading though that the new dailies area would be ground mounts only, prolly just a bad dream....

Because Pandamajed Pandaffi was opressing the people of pandaria. The Alliance and the Horde agreed to create a no fly-zone.

I, for one, didn't. Which is the point exactly. It's natural to take the path of least resistance, even if it's a lot less scenic.

If you really miss flying in pandaria, just make some friends ?
I mean some of my friend just came back and me and my brother help them with our rocket/nightwing. If you would stop complaining and just focusing on maybe finding new friend you could enjoy your flying in Pandaria.

When I first started playing the game back in September, when I saw ppl flying everywhere, I said to myself, "wow! I gotta get me one of those!" (flying mounts). lol. But now that I have one for one of my toons, I have her do a lot of farming. But when she quests, she runs/walks. As an artist, I enjoy looking at the scenery and appreciate all the artwork that when into making it. Some of it is quite amazing, in my book.
Take time to "smell the roses" and appreciate the beauty. :D
