Map Pin Colors

Just wanted to see if I was missing an obvious way to change the displayed colors/size of map pins. If we could (through some setting for a map or for our account) change the color of a map pin and/or its size, it would be very helpful.
As it stands now it can require playing "Where's Waldo" with the pins, since the color of the pin may blend in with the background of the map itself. However, I realize that many maps have different color backgrounds, so allowing us to switch their color would be helpful.
I'm just an old blind man, I'm not sure about accessibility to those with color blindness - but I would think more options are preferable to fewer.
Maybe this exists and I'm missing it? If not, a feature request then?

I don't believe this feature currently exists. I'll leave it to an Administrator to comment on the plausibility of something of this nature being implemented in the future.

I think it would be especially helpful for people creating or viewing Guides, which often have multiple named pins on maps, each of which could be pointed to different objects. For example, this very nice
Exploration in MoP guide
would be much easier to see and use if the maps had pins of brighter colors or of larger scale.

If you're
making
a map, the color of pins can be changed by adding
type=#
where the # is 1, 2, 3, or 4 to make - 1 = green, 2 = red , 3 = blue, 4 = purple. To see a demo of these colors, check out the map section of
Guide Writing for Dummies
.
For viewing pre-made maps on the database / in other guides, I don't think this feature exists.

Well I will say that you have helped me solve my immediate problem, which is the pin color on the maps in the guide previously linked. I used your tip to create my own guide, copy from the source the work of the author, add a type=4 to each of the pin tags, and then saving as a draft for my personal use (not to be published.) Something easily solved for me by a copy and 3 find/replace actions in Notepad.
However, it could still be nice in the future to be able to do this, although I'm sure it wouldn't be high in the feature request list for WH/Zam devs.
Thanks everyone for responses and tips.
