The Remarkable Realm of Reading: Genres

I'm sure most of us read, but what do we read? There are so many genres out there and so many books fall under multiple genres. Select the genre you would expect the books you're looking for to be filed under at a competent bookstore.
I think the genres are pretty clear, but I'm happy to clarify any of them.
My votes: Fantasy, Science Fiction, and Thriller.

You know though, you could have just reported it and had the mods add in the missing sections lol.

...No I didn't. I just asked them to delete it. >.< Wasn't that how HsR did it when he botched one?

I deleted the other one as per your request, but yes, in the future it would be better to request a mod to edit in what you want.
:P

Probably, but that was before the mods could actually edit it and have it last.

Noted. In the future, I will be more cautious. :P

My favorites are generally alternate history, followed closely by Sci Fi. I read fantasy more than most, but I prefer Sci Fi.

Fantasy (Warcraft, mainly), Horror (not a lot of Steven King, but I love a good H.P. Lovecraft or Edgar Allen Poe story), Religion (supposing stuff like "The God Delusion" falls under that catagory), Science Fiction (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Mass Effect novels), Short Stories, and Other Nonfiction (I read a lot of popular science books, especially by Hawking and Dawkins on the topics of Cosmology and Biology, respectively.)

Yeah, I added Religion/Theology to cover religious texts (Bible, Qur'an, etc), "inspirational" books, and books that deal with religions in an academic context.

I'm surprised you didn't include "Crime fiction" and "Legal fiction" as categories.

I'd have a hard time not counting those as either mystery or thiller, honestly.

Ah, I thought 'mysteries' more related to things like 'Prophecies of Nostradamus' and such things.

I love how Sci-fi / Fantasy are even. I clicked 'em both too, ofc.
