This guide is intended to be a quick reference for Enhancement Shaman, to provide info on stats and other things that Shaman may find useful when gearing, raiding, etc. I know there is another post similar to this one, but it's a little out of date and I figure I will provide a post that has updated builds and such. So, here it is.
Table of Contents
Dps Priority
Itemizing
Gems
Enchants
Consumables
Talent Builds
Dps Priority
The Dps "rotation" is as follows for optimal Dps output:
If abilities are on Cooldown, continue down the list to the next ability.
Lightning Bolt if 5 stacks Maelstrom Weapon
Stormstrike
Earthshock
Lava Lash
Refresh Totems and Shields
Itemizing
If you are confused as to which stats you should be stacking or what the caps are for each stat, here is the list of most important stats from greatest to least, with corresponding caps (if such is neccesary.)
Hit Rating:
The most important stat to cap, this should be the first stat that you stack and cap. You only want to hit the spell hit cap though, which also caps your Stormstrike and Lava Lash. Caps are as listed below.
The cap is 17%, 16% for Draenei. In a raid, the cap is 14%, 13% for Draenei due to the 3% hit from Shadow Priest and/or Moonkin.
17%- 446 hit rating
16%- 420 hit rating (Draenei)
14%- 368 hit rating (Raid)
13%- 341 hit rating (Draenei Raid)
Expertise
Expertise reduces the chance that a mob can dodge and parry your attacks. In most raid situations you'll be attacking from behind so there is no chance of the target parrying, only dodging, and you'll want to reduce this to 0%.
The cap to make mobs not be able to dodge is 6.50%. So if you are going to attack from behind, the amount of Expertise Rating you need is as follows:
6.50%- 214 Expertise Rating
or
26 Expertise
6.50%- 140 Expertise Rating
This is only if you have Unleashed Rage, which increases your Expertise by 9.
This will take dodge off of the table, and since you are attacking from behind, the mob will not be able to parry.
Agility/Intellect/Crit/Haste/Attack Power:
After capping the above, you will want to raise these stats as high as possible without going under the above caps. This is mazimize your Dps overall.
Gems
There are many gems out there. Some gems will increase your Dps more than others. Here I have compiled a list of different gems, sorted by color, that are good for socketing your Enhancement gear with.
Red
Delicate Stormjewel
Bright Scarlet Ruby
Delicate Scarlet Ruby
Precise Scarlet Ruby
Bright Bloodstone
Blue
The only blue gems that you could really use would be for Stamina, which isn't a vital stat, so multi-colored gems will do more good than a blue gem.

Smooth Autumn's Glow
Perfect Quick Sun Crystal

Talent Builds
No guide is complete without a few talent builds. Here is the link to a few Enhancement Builds that are recommended you use. If you have a build you would like me to post, just post the link to the build, and your breakdown of your build. Make sure to give your builds glyphs.
16/55/0
This build is your basic Enhancement build. This build chooses mana regulation over damage. It uses water shield over lightning shield for mana regeneration. All of the raid support (Unleashed Rage and Improved Windfury Totem) is chosen incase no one else in your raid has them, or a replacement for them.
20/51/0
This is the build I use, it's for Shaman that don't need to worry about mana and have someone to cover 20% melee haste for them. It has Reverberation for and increased amount of Earth Shocks, which will be an increase in Dps. Lightning Shield is chosen for the increased damage.
17/54/0
This one is thanks to Drolfeir. This build is created for high damage output in a raid situation. Improved totems is taken for the Dps increase it will bring.
16/55/0
Again, thanks to Drolfeir. This is a stock Enhancement build. It will provide great mana efficiency and allowing the use of Lightning Shield. Using Lightning Shield will increase your Dps, while all of the mana efficient talents will keep your mana bar rather full.
17/54/0
This one is Eleazer's raiding build. All essential raid buffs are taken for overall raid benefit. The Lightning Bolt glyph is taken for the increased LB damage that will come out of it. The Windfury Weapon Glyph is taken as well for an increase in Windfury procs.

Very nice, Totum. Stickied.
One question, how much expertise would you need only to nullify attacks from behind?

In order to get rid of dodge while attacking from behind (since mobs can't parry from behind) you will want 26 Expertise.

If there is anything that I am missing in any of my lists, please let me know. Also, if you have a spec that you would like me to post, please post the link to your spec and the breakdown of the spec. Thanks.

This is the build I use, it's for Shaman that don't need to worry about mana and have someone to cover 20% melee haste for them. It has Reverberation for increased amount of Earth Shocks, which means increased Elemental Devastation uptime . Lightning Shield is chosen for the increased damage. This spec was made for the highest possible damage output.
Reverberation is not the greatest for pve. There is a pretty good chance that your simulated
and real-play
dps would improve if you put your current gear/glyphs/procs into enhsim and changed only the talents section to reflect this:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#hVhhqZhxxIoxzIhusouVo:Rfd0Mm
(reverb removed to buff spell damage and AP from other talents).
If I wasn't at work I might've even done it before posting and removed the hedge words. Some other information to consider, in addition to my hunch is this post
http://elitistjerks.com/f47/t20765-shaman_enhancement/#post1002989
I don't think there's any hard evidence that Reverb
appreciably
increases Devastation uptime; and certainly if there is, it's a case where gearing would solve the problem in a more beneficial way than spending five talent points.
No need to bash the spec, you have not tested it, you are going off of what other people have done. I have found my spec to be quite a nice dps increase as a matter of fact. And there was really no need to edit my original post, it's fine as is. If you have an issue with it, post your spec, along with your breakdown of the spec instead of crying about the one i posted. It was a suggestion, not every shaman has to use it. And more Earth Shocks means more elemental devestation uptime due to more crits, i did a bit of testing on training dummies, a few trials, and for me, it was an increase in dps.

I am not sure how many more Elemental Devestations you would get with the 1 second less cooldown. Your crit chance remains the same it won't change just because you get in a 5 minute fight you would get approximately 15 more ES out than you would otherwise if you didn't run out of mana or replenishing your totems. However it has been listed ad nauseum in several forums that reverbation is a nice leveling and pvp but not a pve tool. Also not putting points in imp windfury totems makes you less of a raid shaman, you are defeating one of the main benefits of being enhanced is to buff raid dps as much as possible.
The
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#hVhhqZhxxIoxzIhusouVo:Rfd0Mm
is a nice build, but not putting points in Imp WF hurts the raid as a whole for a very small benefit on your side, plus your glyphs are off mate. Why FT weapon over WF weapon? Why imp Lightning shield in a raid you aren't going to have Lightning shield up unless you are specced into Static shock, which technically you should spec out of, the marginal increase in dps is more with this spec
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#hVhhqZhxxIoxdIhuokuVo:hfb0Mc
. If we are going to use lightning bolt in our priority system over Chain Lightning than getting the increased DPS glyph is essential.
Also if we can list somewhere in there that evidence proves please stop using daggers lol. Use two slow weapons dual WF and beat the snot out of everything.
